And here I thought the theory of Philip being Joey's father was farfetched. Still both are backed up to some degree. I'd be more willing to bet though that Maurice is the entity or has become the entity rather then attempting to overthrow it and being benevolent horse. Probably used Mikaela and Saku to it's own ends if only because Maurice can't liberate everybody because then the game would end :D.
