About Me!

My name is Dyllon! I have played Dead By Daylight for about 3 years now strictly on my Twitch page. After being asked time and time again about how to get into the game, I decided to try my hand at making guides to help players.

  1. I love everything coming in this update and cannot wait. I like to believe the entity has a special torture pit for ormand flashlight locker teams. Cannot wait to see this added, locker, built to last, flashy teams, I wish many a NOED upon you.

  2. Everyone freaking out about flashlights and I'm just ecstatic that they're finally adding bots to custom matches. Also, as someone who often tries their best to help the team escape but often ends up not escaping themselves the matchmaking changes are great news.

  3. I am very excited about the bots. Wished this was in the game when I first started playing, but it's a huge W for newer players and will allow even veterans to adjust to a new Killer before hitting the live lobbies if they want. Time will tell on the MMR changes, I'm glad they are at least trying to improve it. The visual changes look awesome, always excited for those. I'll have to see on the flashlight buffer, .25 seconds may just be to account for network lag. I bet you the reduction in cheaters is because they've changed all these things in the background, waited to see the effect, and then just announced it. Overall, mostly excited for this update.

P.S. Your jacket/hat combo today is on point… very fitting for an Illinois fall.

  4. I think this is a great patch. It's unfortunate to lose the locker save as, inherently, it's an amazing moment if you manage it in the wild. The fact that full groups go in with the intention of doing nothing but that with offerings for Dead Dawg or Mt. Ormond spoil it for everyone else. I think the only thing in the patch notes that even remotely make me frown at all is the extra boost to getting a flashlight save when the Killer picks up, but even that only means the Killer needs to be aware of their surroundings and know WHEN to pick up and HOW to pick up (as you say in the vid). Everything in this patch: five stars. (edited to remove the strikethroughs that YouTube apparently has, rather than it allowing me to use hyphens for emphasis)

  5. Great video man!
As for the Boot Camp, as an experienced player I’d love to watch the vids on YouTube but edited, but I can see why the raw footage would be much more beneficial for the people trying to learn from it

  6. I think for locker saves they could allow one and then give immunity, which would still allow for it without it being abused. Not sure if that's something they would consider because it sounds a little odd

  7. Regarding the flashlight save buffer, it might help with cases where a flashlight save is refunded: killer is moving while blinded on a survivor's screen, they get the points for a blind but no rescue 🔦

  8. I don’t think people are overreacting. it’s a genuine concern for people who find other aspects of the game fun, you know, besides doing gens. It just seems like a very specific change targeted to a specific group of players who like to play in a different manner.

They recently claimed that they adjusted flashlight clicking because of seizures, which is noble and understandable. BUT certain map lighting, blast mine, flashbangs, are MUCH worse than flashlight clicking yet they’re still in the game. It leaves one to wonder if they disguised the flashlight clicking adjustment under the guise of seizure prevention/accessibility. It just seems disingenuous to me, and BHVR claiming they did it to prevent seizure-related issues when in reality they did it to reduce BMing is weird to me. Sorry that’s an L once you see through it.

  9. I actually interpreted the .25 second buffer to be the other way… I think you were suggesting the killer would be locked still for another .25 seconds after the animation completes, but I took it to mean that a window of time, .25 seconds long, ending at the very end of the animation, will still count for the actual stun/drop. In other words, if you're like me and your main problem is being a touch too early, getting the blind but not the drop, this will give you more successes. I'm hoping that is the case, because needing to be even more patient to nudge the timing into a post-animation window will not help me nearly as much as if it's actually earlier.

  10. Actually judging by the wording, the killer won't be forced to stand there an extra 0.25 seconds, rather there is a 0.25S moment when they actually can start moving that if they're blinded it'll auto transition into the stun animation. so the Killer can actually be blinded before the animation ends and when it does end and the killer can look around again, there's that 0.25 buffer saying "you're still fully blinded, get stunned." Regardless if its an additional time to the animation or an actual timer that checks if you're blinded, this is actually a huge buff because of the way flashlights work. You can now just sit there with a beamer on a killers face and it'll count as "blinded" even if you did it super early, this is the same level as when it buffered pallet stuns back then so someone could just stun you at the start of the pickup and run and you'd still be stunned when the animation ended.

  11. No I think the buffer means that the animation isn't longer, but you can blind 0.25s before the pickup animation is finished and still get the stun.
    It's great imo.

  12. I'm very excited about this update. Survivor main with about 600+ hours and I have yet to get a flashlight save. I'm sure I'll still suck but I think my chances may be better. Glad about survivor bots. Been wanting to get better at killer and I'm still not good at all. I hope it'll help. I can practice without embarrassing myself lol. I hope killers don't freak out too much about the buff. Every good killer I face knows how to deal with flashlights. Quick sweep of the area or go against a wall is not super complicated.
    Thanks for the update!

  13. Flashlights need a buff because they are too hard. I have nearly 2000 hours in the game and still miss half the time, even more if I'm rusty. It should not take thousands, let alone hundreds, of hours to be proficient at a game mechanic. Scares of noobs from ever even trying.

  14. Personally I've had really bad experiences with locker flashlight saves and I know people who also go through it frequently, it's weird because some people rarely experience it for other people like me it happens basically every month.

The issue with it is that it's very cheap, because it grants the survivor a free ds and it's hard to prepare for it unless you know prior that they're a swf planning to do this which often times they will hide it.

Some people and content creators don't seem to get the issue, it's all about time wasted.

The way people say to solve it is to just leave the survivor .. how is that an option in a close game on a big map with huntress for example? Say there's only 2 gens left, you need the down desperately to guarantee a sacrifice but the survivor hops on a locker and you see his flashlight buddy – you understand his flashlight buddy is full health so chasing him is gonna waste time so you try to steer him away and then save – all this is happening while survivors are doing gens.

You grab the survivor off the locker and get flashlight stunned, the surv gets back in the locker.

Are you supposed to just leave? Chase the healthy survivor to a nearby shack?.

Hopefully I'm making sense, there's way too many survivor sided instances in this game to ALSO have to deal with any invulnerable method that makes you waste a lot of time negating you a down.

I don't think some understand how unfair it was, but luckily BHVR does .. and that's what matters.

Btw, I really don't get how annoying another human is a playstyle for some people that they justify – just seems scummy and I'm glad BHVR agrees.

  15. Locker saves were only used for "bullying", never in normal gameplay, so this won't change anything.

As for the save buffer, the anti-epilepsy update removed the chance to readjust. This buffer just makes it so if you start a tiny bit too soon, in the old version of flashlights, you'd turn it of and on again to adjust. This buffer mimics that adjustment. I read it as "if the blind happens right at the very end of the animation but before control is regained, then it counts." And this will only happen if the blind is .25s too early. How many times have you ever been blinded but it was too early so you still had the survivor? It's never happened to me. If they miss it, it's because they're too late and I looked away.

  16. Hey Dyllon! I was wondering if you'd be able to make a video about flashlight save aim and timing with the new flashlight. I'm not sure if its a bug or not but I would need to aim my camera into the sky in-order to get flashlight saves. I know many other people with the same problem and I'm sure it will help many others learn how to overcome this problem.

  17. Mainly i'm just not a fan of their stupid methods for patching and updating. They almost always add a direct nerf to something, then a direct buff to the exact same thing, which results in the item being just as good as ever, except with less gimmicks. For example, with the mori changes, and game end changes, they've directly buffed slugging, but then added unbreakable to the basekit, which is an absolute nerf. So they've made slugging debatebly more powerful then before, but only feasible if you can down everybody quickly. It just changes the game from a unique, mechanic filled experience, into a mundane, consistent, ranked playstyle experience. That being said, I like there little side addons to these shit updates, like the bots in a custom game, thats probably the most innovation i've seen from these devs since I started playing the game

  18. Dbd really tryna make survivors quit lol pointless for not being able to locker flashlight save should be like a cool down though shouldn’t be able to enter the locker untill like 5seconds after coming out of it cool-down to stop bullying locker saves by not being able to pull of a locker save now is quite depressing especially if you never done one yet
