Perhaps I Judged Dracula too Harshly… – Dead by Daylight

Overall Dracula is notably stronger than before. I’m still not a fan of the killer’s playstyle and he kind of invalidates Spirit now which is really bizarre.

  1. That's what I was more disappointed about with the buffs is that the wolf form got absolutely NOTHING. It's the most clunky form.

I thought it was gonna be:
    Human form: anti loop
    Wolf form: chase
    Bat form: mobility.

But it just became bat form became chase and mobility and anti loop. The hellfire is still a really good anti loop, but bat form can outperform all things. I really would've liked some buffs for wolf form or make the double pounce feel less janky. Like Scott stated, bat form goes over pallets, windows, teleports up and down, and moves insanely fast to where you can catch up to survivors immediately after a hit, transform, and get a down.

Man, I hope BHVR doesn't just nerf Drac and gut him like they did with SM. I've been enjoying drac so much, and if this is ANOTHER killer that they just delete. I'm gonna be so pissed lmao

  2. I feel it's also important to note that Spirit is better than Dracula's bat form at small loops. Dracula still has hellfire and wolf form.
Edit: I also think Dracula is S tier. Good map traversal, nigh impossible to loop, and you can't really just hold W against him either.

  3. He's got way too low of a skill floor imo… just with bat form alone it's "run back to hook as soon as you get the notif" because it's nearly as fast as Spirit without a limit or recharge, plus he gets the antiloop with Hellfire and if need be, he can just walk you down with Wolf form. Honestly, they should make his vamp form 110% so Wolf form is at least the M1 form, as well as Hellfire really not being all too penalizing for holding and/or missing so the extra speed difference would encourage more skillful use over mindlessly zoning with it.

  4. To be fair, Dracula is never invisible like Spirit.
If the bats get this close to you that he can track your footsteps, you just fked up. Or you're playing on an indoor map, in which case get fked anyway.

  5. spirit is not nearly as strong as everyone pretends she is bro. same with nurse honestly. when survivors know the counterplay, playing those killers is brutal. the revert to iron will doesn’t help.

  6. They should just increase the time after switching from bat form to be able to walk at full speed. I think that they wanted to design it for map traversal not to be used in chases and outperform Spirit.

  7. I don't really know if this would be enough since the brown addon that increases transformation speed by 10% in this playstyle is extremely strong, but I think you could do what they did with Knight and put each form on a separate maybe 8-10 second cooldown. This would make the Drac player have to think about how they want to use their transformations while playing around the cooldowns, likely allowing every transformation to get plenty of use instead of just bat to vampire to bat to vampire again.

  8. reading that description as well, i've told everyone that this killer is so unoriginal it concerns me with the new killer concepts and if they are gonna copy and paste abilities to newer killers and make them shine more than the rest of their own roster.

  9. I know love this video is very rambly but the excuses the other people make to say he invalidates spirit. I don't know why you'd use Twitter and other places like that as a valuable metric when they're full of idiots…most of the time.

  10. Not to mention hellfire just literally being a better form of P Head. Way less visual cues to react to, instant damage instead of gradual like Pyramid Head, lingering hitbox, ridiculously short cooldown. Oh yeah, and he can also fly and have use wesker dashes…

  11. Even if I feel like the bat form can be strong for the map traversal and the ability to come back at a hook and tunnel someone very fast, I feel like you can counter the kind of scenario mentionned scenarios by staying next to windows when the bat is coming
But maybe going to a 3.5 cd could be a good balancing of the caracter anyways ?

  12. Dracumal is awesome, I'm rarely in vampire form. His map traversal is insane, and 3rd person with a low profile as wolf that lunges?

The Unforeseen Devotion of Furtive Friends has incredible use with him, too. Bonkers build Unforeseen – Dark Devotion – Furtive Chase – FTTE

  13. Hey, I would be curious to hear other players opinions / counterplay tips about hellfire, I mostly have no issue to deal with pyramid head m2 holding scenarios, but for some reasons, I struggle with hellfire.
I mostly manage to dodge the fire pillars, but no matter how I play it, it feels like the cd of missing a hit still manage to make dracula close enough to m1 me right after.
Is there visual animations from the killer, sound effect… anything to ensure not being m1 right after a missed fire pillar ?

  14. I think this is more of a problem with spirit as a whole in this case. The nerfs she received, while justifiable, ultimately left her power crept by other killers who ignore the environment similarly. Granted, coming out of bat form has more downsides than coming out of phase, but that alone isn't enough to account for being able to ignore vault points and chase at a very fast pace, while also having two other powers available.

Spirits only main strength before was her unpredictable and hard to mind-game nature. Since the very accurate directional audio, she lost that, and now the survivor has a lot more information on where she is from farther away and closer than the spirit does. Then, you factor in the abnormally long cooldown, inability to interact with vaults, inconsistencies regarding sound, and her 110% base movement speed, and she's just weaker than most killers with access to a mobility-based chase tool. Dracula is even easier to track since survivors can see him, but he also has the benefit of not having a duration on bat form or any noticeable cooldown. Meanwhile, Spirit is hard locked by a cooldown and must wait for it to fully recharge in order to use it again, without any for the other benefits, aside from speed boost when exiting phase. Frankly, I'd rather buff spirit than super nerf dracula. Like, I could justify a speed and cooldown nerf for Dracula in bat form, but even then he's STILL a better performing killer than spirit. Spirit should be able to at least ignore windows at power, maybe slowing down to half speed when phasing through those points, and have a slightly faster cooldown. Her design has been due for an update for a while now, since we have so many killers with better, more straightforward powers with no cooldown associated with them, such as Singularity, Billy, Wraith, and even killers with better, more accessible cooldown based powers like Chucky, Wesker, Vecna, and Knight.

  15. I started playing spirit a few weeks before Iron Will got buffed, and she feels significantly weaker right now. Stridor helps but with the audio issues you mention a lot combined with iron will it feels borderline impossible to track people like I was doing in that initial week, and I've pretty much just dropped her lol. I really liked the gameplay but I just couldn't hear people anymore. I can totally see how a killer that has a version of spirits power thats weaker in some ways, but WAY stronger in others, AND isn't a 110 killer, AND has other chase powers, could invalidate spirit entirely.

  16. Dracula definitely DID NOT need a bat buff, though the shapeshift buff was necessary. Even hellfire is good for what it is, I wouldn’t want to make it any more similar to Pyramid Head or Nemesis (because that is the point of Dracula’s Swiss Army knife design). The most unanimously suggested buff is obviously aimed at wolf form. If it’s pounce that’s getting buffed, I’d say either put the second pounce on a short manual delay for better aim. That or remove the stun on hitting obstacles on the first pounce (more user-friendly hug tech). If it’s not pounce, then simply have the cent orbs be more substantial, like giving killer instinct after every orb, having orbs spawn more frequently, or increasing the haste length. All this is in the context that bat form gets a “below Spirit” nerf.

  17. I'd rather nerf his fire ability more than anything, at least with the bats, you can walk tech, where his fire ability he just holds it then hits you over most objects in the game, and has like no cd if you get zoned and he misses, he can just M1 right after.

  18. I’m deleting this game, I swear killers can’t have ANYTHING without someone saying nerf. Hopefully at some point more killers start to notice this and leave the game. They nerfed ALOT of killers able to counter survivors, nerfed gen kicks, nerfed the hook time limit, nerfed hook proximity, nerfed gen regression perks. Yet they keep buffing survivors and gen speed perks and healing. Like where is the competition? How can survivors feel accomplished when it literally given to them.

  19. Well obviously he's stronger than he was before. I honestly don't know why you kept an exploit that who knows how few people were even abusing as your basis to say he was nerfed/sidegraded. You didn't need to play him to figure out he was going to be stronger you just needed to put 2 and 2 together. Also, invalidate spirit? My lord. You just can't stop with the bad takes. At least you admit being wrong but if you continue like this your entire channel will be "I was wrong" videos.

  20. The way I would balance out Dracula is tone back bat form a bit but give wolf form a bit more utility to make it more specialized, a slightly faster vault or breaks pallets slightly faster if using the pounce attack. The way I see it Bat is for map traversal. Vampire is for those zoning and ranged mind games. Wolf should be for direct W key M1 chasing.

  21. Yeah I played one unfortunate match against this guy. Just seems like a washed down pyramid head attack that only goes above small obstacles, a double wesker/demo dash and insane mobility
