Dead by Daylight have been hammering changes recently, to even a new meta shake up recently, new video incoming. But what they were looking to do with this patch is encourage more chase potential with the Skull Merchant and her design. Unfortunately, even with extra speed added, she still relys on that 3 gen defence overall, if nbot you are mostly relying on bad survivor gameplay and mistakes.

A group of up to four survivors must elude one killer. The survivors’ perspectives are third-person, while the killer’s perspective is first-person. The survivors cannot fight against the killer and can only survive by running away and evading them. They must use obstacles in the form of wooden pallets, windows, and items that they either find inside chests or bring before the match starts to run from the killer for as long as they can. In order to escape, survivors must repair 5 generators scattered across the entire map to power the exit gates, then they must open the exit gates and leave the area themselves or find a hatch to jump into.

That incoming healing rework will buy us some time.
I used to stream DBD exclusively with the intention of making killer content since I’ve played dbd since release but same as you I’ve watched it spiral into what seems to be a completely different game. There’s a devise in play styles for killer mains, there’s those who play with a passive mindset who like to relax, let people escape or mess about and there’s those who like to play competitive (both are completely fine, it’s about having fun) but when it comes to competitive the goal is to win your games and climb the ladder which is where to issue comes into play, when survivors are good at the game they don’t waste time (again which is fine there’s nothing wrong with being good at the game) but killers have limited options for how to play to win which allot of the time is extremely unfun for both party’s. Survivors will be upset at the methods you utilised to get the win and the killers are just straight out up bored. This game either needs to return to its fundamental concept or completely change the game, the killer needs to be a blatant threat, there needs to be more focus on chase (less about how much time you have to chase and more about the skill differences that determine the outcome of the chase) let’s be honest, both survivors and killers are playing for the chase so why do they punish killers so much for doing it? Everyone is playing this game correctly and there’s no wrong way to play, the issue is the game not the players. If this game didn’t have gens and just required the survivors to survive for a set amount of time how would games play out in regards to teamwork and killer outcomes? They need to get back to the drawing board, disregard the mountains of complaints relating to balance and focus on what’s going to make the game fun for both parties while minimising fuel for toxicity. While they’re at it they could do with making the game friendlier towards new players, no one should have to remember every perk off the bat to gain an upper hand.
The problem is gen speed. Gens get done in 42 seconds because of gen rushing perks, multiple people on a gen, and tool boxes. They need to increase the base time to 2 min to complete a gen, with all the perks, that would drop it down to like 1:25 min which gives killer time to actually go for chases instead of just gen defending. But BHVR is stupid and doesn’t see that problem.
As i said to someone in the comments It's a back and forward thing tbh killers wanna win so they bring call of brie overcharge ect but the other side is fed up of dying so they bring prove, toolboxes ect its the games balancing thats a problem not the other side and the last 2 patches have been very stale
