Just a video showcasing the crazy effect that Self-Aware (formerly known as Fixated) has on Pinhead’s power. Is this rare interaction okay, or do you think it should be changed? 🤔

  1. "I'm hitting some decent chains but they just do nothing"
Yeah, for me this is Pinhead's main problem. I hope the developers somehow buff this killer in that regard. It's not that I consider him weak but sometimes the chains don't do anything despite how difficult it is to aim and hit with them. I wish there was a bigger payoff for this. Other than that, Pinhead is a super cool and fun character

  2. something i love about DBD is the millions of little things you have no idea are in the game until you experience it. this is a good example of that, but also the ability to burn Wraiths and Nurses, or how you can use flashlights to get rid of Hags traps. these little things really does affect the quality of the game, IMO, so i think perks having these random little advantages is fun

  3. BHVR likely makes perks like this with thought in mind that no one knows who's running what, or who they're going against. If players knew what Killer they were facing and could see what perks everyone was running from the lobby, it would be a completely different game balance wise. So in their minds, if you happen to be running this combo you'll have an instant passive advantage over anyone playing Pinhead, but that's only one killer. It's a similar conversation to how Stridor used to be a must have Spirit Perk, and Iron Will would counter it to a degree. Yet, in that case, if you weren't running Stridor and survivors were running Iron Will for general value, the Spirit was at a further disadvantage than every other killer.

So, survivor perks = minor annoyance to killers.
Some survivor perks on certain killers = you're gonna have a bad time.

Honestly, I don't think this needs to be fixed, because it seems intentional. Keep in mind, if Pinhead is running Engineer's Fang, it doesn't even completely negate the effect, because you're giving up slowdown for a health state. Depending on who you talk to, the slowdown is more valuable, but…yeah. Honestly, the Incandescent Lamentation Configuration should just be reworked to act like Deathslinger's gun; hit em, then they're passively reeled towards Pinhead's location. You're still closing the distance, it's just being done in a different way than his power normally works.

  4. I wouldn’t say this is hard countering Pinhead considering a survivor has to bring Fixated as one of their four perks and then the killer will most likely not be Pinhead. It’s like calm spirit against a doctor, it COULD be a doctor, but it also may not. On a side note, this perk is good, but you can bring better is all I’ll say.

  5. Why are pinheads chains still so easy to break? It takes a lot of skill to hit, but you get less value from it than clown who just takes a button press??

I dont understand why hes still so bad after a year man. Hes such an interesting character but held back by such shitty design

  6. Remember, Calm spirit hard counters Doctor, Iron will hard counters Spirit, Unbreakable hard counters Oni, Resilience counters Plague, Flash Bang counters Wraith, Any means necessary counters Nemesis's zombies, Autodidact counters Legion, Circle of Healing counters entire Hit and Run playstyle for Wraith and Ghost Face. I think I've mentioned enough examples of survivor's perks hard countering or just countering Killer's power and I think it's fine. Like with Calm spirit you're not always going to face against Doctor and getting full value out of Calm spirit and Fixared(Self-aware) is the same story.

  7. Honestly, I think this is fine, but just to get a bit out there, I would run this perk more often since I know it's potential with things like scratch mark juking, obviously countering one of my least favorite Killers in the game (right next to clown and nurse), exhaustion and whatnot, but I just can't fit it into my dedicated builds to things like healing, stunning, indirect support, etc.

  8. I still have a very hard time with those 9 perks from that chapter and their name change. Could be that it's 4:30am but it took me an unreasonably long period of time wondering what this self aware perk was and why it functioned exactly like fixated
