  1. The care about the authenticity more than gameplay to get new players. Like they want RE fans to see this map and want to get the game, but if the gameplay’s good then anyone from and outside perspective wouldn’t notice that. That’s why they’re changing the original maps like MacMillan and making the gameplay worse by adding breakable walls, they want new players to see it and want to get the game for “how good it looks” when the gameplay isn’t obvious when you don’t own the game.

  2. I disagree. I think its ormond. That map breaks the game. Hawkins has more windows than ormond. You don't really loop ormond. You just run in straight lines. Its super boring. At least r.p.d has loops, and is fun (for the chase). However everything else is terrible. It forces killers to not use their powers. Something ormond does to a lesser extent for stealth killlers and chainsaws.

  3. Got rpd map randomly as pig and lets just say it was a not so fun game even though I got a pretty much 4k (let a Steve go because he booped the snoot) but there’s literally no way to contest gens without high speed but even killers like hillbilly can’t help with that.

  4. So you was complaining about not having the map and then you don't like it.
Don't get me wrong I hate this map to however you know that dbd is fun game more than high level game.

  5. I don't get why some people don't understand why the map is the way it is. Trust me, in my 157 hours of playing and getting 100% completion on RE2, it could be far worse if it was a perfect remake. I don't think it was Behaviours choice. Its not hard to understand why its like this. I personally love the map. Its my favorite map by a mile.

  6. At the very least – I wish I could select another killer once I learn that its going to be an indoor map – or have an 'indoor' selection and an 'outdoor' selection.

I play a lot of blight – and this map makes me very sad when I'm playing Blight. I wouldn't mind playing on it – but I would like to swap to someone else who actually has a power if I'm going to play on it.

  7. I don't like the idea of cutting down or debilitating the grandeur of a map. I really like what the design team has done and I don't think cutting that work down and only getting to experience half of it at a time is the best solution. I think the best idea is the one that originated in a podcast you were in about a year ago by (forgot his name, Ulys?) where you make generator speeds dependant on the distance between it's closest generator. No it doesn't fix the god loops, no it doesn't fix indoor map navigation, but it does make it a ton more forgiving to be spawned in a bigger map.

  8. I also think bhvr likes the "appearance" of having a ptb without actually using any of the data or feedback from it, as evidenced by the brokenness of the map from jump.

I knew watching ptb it was waaay too big, which doesn't benefit killer or survivor. And all of the thematic maps (midwich, Hawkins, rcpd) are problematic compared to the original maps.

  9. I won't even play on it. I sat in the corner as killer and went to go cook dinner, 30 minutes later they still hadn't finished the last gen…. The few times I have played on it nobody gets saved from the hook since they can't even find a way to them

  10. I got this map yesterday when I was going to play as Twins, and it's worse, you just can't change to Victor in mostly of the map because the game doesn't allow you to block corridors, and that's all this map is, so you gotta constantly find places where you can use your power.
The number of problematic maps are getting high and that's terrible, ironic how they are all licensed maps…

  11. Hawkins is a good map and I will die on this hill.

The issue with RCPD is that the winding halls and counterintuitive pathing makes hunting survivors and patrolling gens nigh-impossible. Alongside multiple god pallets that you can drop the moment you see them, regardless of whether the killer is chasing you, and still get value out of them.

  12. I played on the live version a few times already, both roles and it's bad for both. As killer, I got lost and couldn't get to gens even though I could see them. As survivor, the super tight places make evasion in chases pretty much impossible. And it took me ~2.5 gens to find another survivor to heal with in one round when I was injured.
Too big, corridors too tight, many rooms are similar so getting a sense of position is hard.
But at least it's pretty I guess?

  13. I don’t remember where but I’m almost certain I saw someone get in touch with Konami and they replied saying the devs have complete creative freedom and they don’t have much say in the matter

  14. I'm guessing it was in their contract with Capcom that the map had to be an accurate representation. I don't see any other reason why they would do this, still sucks though.

  15. The RPD is an amazingly designed map…for a Resident Evil game…not sure why they imported it while everyone has complaints about a lot of maps

  16. I think people just need to learn to adapt. People are just not used to it’s large scale and hallways. This is my 3rd favorite map. Midwich is still my favorite to play on as both Killer and survivor.

  17. was playing as killer and was trying to give the last survivor hatch and i could very clearly hear the hatch in one area and was desperately trying to find it with the survivor over my shoulder until she wiggled off to show me that it spawned on the walkway in the library. i had assumed the hatch would only spawn on the ground floor like every other indoor map but not this one i guess.

  18. I personally hate hawkins more than the rpd cuz going against ghostface or any stealth killer without spine chill is very painful and most of the pallets are very unsafe and its very annoying and its pretty much an instant win for the killer most of the time and i hate it. I know im not the best survivor btw.
