  1. I rarely play this game anymore
But, if someone doesn't want to play, they're not forced into playing. So they can either dc or simply die and move on.
The Devs can't combat this as it's not something within their control

  2. players like these are one of the main reasons I don't play dbd
you don't wanna be around such a obnoxious community, because even if you like the game you will hate it because of such people

  3. I go next not when the killer is toxic, or camping, or tunneling, or whatever. You wanna know what makes me go next? The games where I am the first survivor in chase, and I loop the killer for 2+ minutes, and in that entire time, none of my 3 random teammates do ANY progress on ANY gen. I'm talking zero. In those situations, you'd be a moron if you think I wouldn't go next there. Fuck those people.

  4. In my opinion it’s just as entitled to expect someone to stay in a match to not ruin your fun/experience/the match as it is to go next because of the slightest inconvenience. Everyone in DBD is just f*cking entitled these days, and everyone is sweating their butts off to win, which is fine, but people always act surprised when others aren’t having it and wanna go next.

I’m so tired of this whole discussion. Instead of looking at why people are going next and maybe coming up with solutions for that, everyone is bitching and moaning about it 24/7. 😒

Personally, I have a few reasons why I go next:
    – my teammates have rinsed every single pallet and there’s nothing left at 4 or 5 gens (you’d think this is impossible but it is very much possible)
    – my teammates 3/4 gen'd us despite me trying to get them off the gens they shouldn’t have done
Like no thanks. Deal with that yourself, it all could’ve been avoided.

Plague and Doctor also make me go next because DBD isn’t worth me feeling physically ill (emetophobia and migraines).

  5. Go next is fine, I don't do it but I sure as hell would if I wasn't having fun.
Going next doesn't speak to a lack of empathy, you're not obligated to force yourself to play out every game you start- you're also not obligated to care about the enjoyment of four random people who do not care about you.

It's not that deep though; play if you wanna play, stop if you wanna stop-

  6. Want to start this off by saying the only time i ever quit on hook is to give another player a chance at hatch when I can, but needed to comment on this. Not gonna lie, it's kind of almost surreal how quick you are to criticize people continuing a trend that was called for by a large swathe of the community any time their "fun" was put in jeopardy. Like you call people "hypocrites" and then highlight how you did the same exact thing but it was okay when you did it because everyone was mad about it. Not even realizing that the amount of content creators calling for it was the reason why people see it an okay behavior now. You created a monster and are unhappy with what that monster brought. I know that is the case because there were a lot of people saying that survs that gave up on hook were being entitled and immature when chess merchant was popular. Those people were dogpiled on, but now that the narrative misaligns with what you want to see in your games, the same behavior you called for is suddenly a slight to you. This sort of reasoning on any topic would be very scary to see, whether its a video game or a real world issue. Content creators don't directly effect the game, of course. But they can drastically sway player's mindsets, and you and other content creators calling for survs to baby rage created an entitled mindset of people who believe its okay to go next when they aren't having fun how they believe they should be. Maybe this "epidemic" will make you and others truly understand the reach and pull of the platforms you possess. I doubt you'll read this or reply, but just needed to say my peace. Hope you are well.

  7. I quited dbd and got into cs2… And you know what? Its better. Even it current garbage state cs2 feels better. You dont need to deal with bullshittery of new killer, you dont need to memorize 500 addons and perks for every killer, you dont need to read every patch note to simply play. And, since addition of premiere you can play casually. Thanks to my low rank – cheaters is not a problem.
You dont need to spend extra money for paid game, just to get new and meta content. Yeah skins exist, but they do not affect gameplay at all.
F****ing counter strike is easier than dbd, what a strange time i live in. And if you lost – this is yours/your teams mistake, not some meta nurse/blight (or whatever it is now) bullshit.
All this yap was that about one thing: leave this game, if you feel bad playing it. This game ain't worth your suffering.

  8. Random thought, but in addition to possible improvements, what if there was a way to make the unfun things….less unfun? Silly example, but imagine if you could draw a penis on the ground while being slugged. What if you could customize your "hook dance"? Like, give people ways to be silly despite a shitty situation. It doesn't fix the game's problems, but maybe a few more people stick it out if they can still be silly and express themselves more.

  9. I've only been playing DBD since around summer of 2024, and only extensively since around November, so I'm pretty new, but imma say this: If most players who go next are burnt out veterans who have been playing for years (and I mean "If", because I don't want to assume things about other players) then just… play something else, there's no shortage of games out there to play. Take time off the game, cool off the burnout and let the playerbase refresh so the newer, more casual players, and that way the sweatiness and toxicity lowers for everyone. These issues aren't exclusive to DBD, any multiplayer focused game has the same problem.

  10. The solution is in bringing back older hatch. No bots. Dcs become kills, but gens done and survivors remaining determining when hatch spawns and then opens allowing for hatch escapes before endgame and multiple people hatch escaping if them killer brutalizes survivor either my high skill or noob survivor nonsense. Give killers bonuses for survivors getting out of hatch per endgame called sewer rats 😂 and everyone goes next without penalty. Remaining survivors aren’t forced to play out an unwinnable scenario as there is still a win condition which incentivizes survivors to play the core game loop. Killers get to spend the entire match trying to chase, down, and kill survivors still.

Some adjustments that may need to be made: how rare keys are and how dcs/deaths effect certain hex totems. Lullaby and devour hope should get stacks with dc deaths and early tunnel escapes so they aren’t rendered useless in fast game metas. How points are rewarded for emblems could also need to be rebalanced slightly to account for gameplay.

Another consideration: gameplays either faster endings open up new play strategies. Killers could adopt more chase heavy perks instead of needing to lean on slowing the game down.

  11. "I don't understand why no one has a shred of empathy in this game anymore"
That's the fun part, no one ever had. I can remember a lot of DBD youtubers throwing as many "TOXIC" in the title of their video as they possibly could, killer or survivor, and have 0 care about the game's health. And that's because they just could, like all players. You can't directly control that.
Talking to the community is just a patchwork, and it can make some (small) changes for those who are reached. But the real solution needs to come from the whole development team. Sadly, you can't do their work for them.

  12. I hardly ever do but I also get it. Dbd right now feels like ass. I'm not smart i don't know how you fix it. Alot of people i have played with have quit. I honest love dbd but the game personally is making me sad. Maybe it's true and dbd is just dead for average survivor and I should quit. 😊

  13. Ngl, i feel like a part of this is that theres not a divide between a competitive/rank and quick play. I feel like if they had a rank mode where you could ban hunters AND survivor perks (maybe 2) each where the majority vote wins. But even then i am doubtful people wouldn be satisfied with that. You would still have people mad because the hunter they picked not being banned or perks being locked out so they cant run the builds they want. It feels like a lose lose situation if you cater to a more "competitive" side of the game and build a more casual scene.

  14. I believe the people that are part of the "go next" problem get into a game, find out the killer is not a baby killer, and then decide to go next. I'd wager that most of these people are terrible at the game and not willing to learn how to loop, so they just instantly give up when the killer downs them because in their minds "killer too good, must go next." And because they're all selfish, entitled survivors, they only want to play against killers that just got the game yesterday which is also why they never improve at the game further exacerbating the issue.

  15. i only play solo surv. if u ALWAYS get turbo tunneled it means ur just bad and the weakest link. and thats just a fact. no one is getting hard tunneled every match, unless u show the killer every time how easy it is to make it a 3v1

  16. Ngl Scott, this video was weak. Every time you "double down" on a take, you're basically acknowledging that this entire conversation is vibes based and not any actual stats. Just bc the majority agreed one thing was messed up doesn't mean the other instances aren't valid too. If enough people cried about deathslinger on launch or singularity, Behavior would have apologized then too. It comes off as "well bc more people agreed with me that's makes it OK." Sure man and trickster shouldn't have been added to the game in the first place. That's my opinion bc of how I view ranged killers and you have yours bc you don't want your content to be stale. Both are valid but both are subjective

  18. I almost never dc, in 2 years of playing dbd I might have dc 10 times max but I am seriously considering disconnecting whenever the killer holds a 3 gen.
Even when the last 3 gens are split some killers like Knight can make the game 30 minutes longer, especially in solo q. In a swf 3 gen is extremely easy to overcome but it is long and boring.
In solo q it is even longer and harder.
Despite Scott saying 3 gen is gone with the kick update, to this day I still see it a lot, yes now it is possible to win despite that but at what cost ? 30 minutes? I simply don't want to stay in a game for 30 minutes.
I am not saying I will dc whenever I see a hag, knight or trapper but if I am in a 3 gen situation for more than 10 minutes I now will seriously consider disconnecting, is it fair or not ?
I feel like it is considering I played the match until 1 gen ( 10 min ~) + 10 more minutes at 1 gen, I personally won't blame my teammate if they do dc after a 20 minutes match that is probably gonna take another 20 minutes to be done. Even if I want to win badly and I am willing to stay in the game for 30+ minutes I won't blame anyone who isn't willing to.

  19. This is why social taboos are important. Game theory of this type of behavior is basically the prisoner's dilemma. Without there being stigma or other penalties…eventually people realize they can be selfish like this. Problem is…the more people do it the more people suffer. Not only that, but it spreads like a virus. The more frustrated you get, the more times you see other people be selfish, the more likely you are to be too.

  20. Honestly, I don't go next often, but when I get placed against a killer with 200+ ms, I do tend to give up on hook. It's not fun getting hit from a mile away. It's not every game, but when it does happen, it does ruin the enjoyment of the game.
