While I dislike they removed some of the resource management aspect, I generally feel positive about these buffs. People whining that she isn't chase enough get what they want with auto lock on tricks, and some skill expression with cutting survivors off mid sprint via drone placement on some pallets. Meanwhile people who appreciate the trap aspect of it get to enjoy being able to change rotations and screw with the situation to try and ensure a lock on, plus some amazing speed buffs. Overall positive, I just wish the tracking via the radar lasted longer
I feel like it should depend on if the killer can get to the hook easily from the top floor. Going back to the game as an example there's that one corner room with the giant hole in the middle and a pallet. That should be considered camping imo whereas no bottom floor access directly below, that would not make sense.

New background player is crazy to put it into scale 200% speed, that's the same speed as a Spirit with Mother Daughter Ring right now. (176% base plus 25% from MDR)

The anti camp mechanic is going to be one of the worst meta this game has ever had.
Just yesterday I was chasing someone near a hooked survivor, and couldn't help but to think that with the new mechanic, I'm going to get punished… just so dumb.
Swif will basically unhook by proxy chasing, gf. Good times are coming
I think verticality should affect the meter somewhat – depending on the hook, the killer might be able to instantly drop down to interrupt an unhook.
Then there's the Nurse, but she is honestly a category on her own, and we shouldn't have to adjust everything in the game to her when there's all the mid and low tier killers to consider 😛
if they address grass then trapper would be a fine killer for the most part now

everything but the background player buff sound great, i would like trapper to have a greater grace period than other killers, since i would like to have time to pick up a trap in case a didn't have one in hand, but with the buffs to trapper might be enough anyway, it might just require some play-style adjustments, but am not looking forward to the swfs looking to abuse the new background player once the update goes live

With these changes to Skull Merchant, shouldn't the nerf's to the Gen Regression Perks be corrected ie. Ruin/Brine etc.. back to 200%
I like the idea of background player. For me it's not flashlights it's sabo. There's more than a few times I'm just a second too far away with the perk. Great info. How the skull merchant isn't dead still like she was in the ptb.
I honestly liked Furtive Chase as it was tho. It works great with tir 2 scratch mirror myers.

This game is a joke. I'm half expecting the next update to take the controller out of the killers hands.

However when the drone is sleeping the radius shouldn't be visible to survivors to enable hidden drones to scan unaware survivors and have a bit of a scare factor especially if they added an audio beep sound after scan.
As for the stealthy chase perk I wouldn't have minded if they did an undetectable for 30 secs after hook obsession and a 5% haste for 10secs with it's usual unhook changes obsession.. This would have made it a great perk to play with for any stealth build.
Radius refers to an area that is x amount however it is also undefined height parameters which is why the collision zones for boons, terror radius and other perks that use radius go through floors. The new design drones now have collision boxes attached to the drone object instead of a radius. They also rotate at what looks to be a speed that matches default survivor speed (4 mps). No one really tried to race the beams so idk, but if they are equal to the speed of survivor that would be a problem since the only threat would be to actually collide with the beams time it right and you can run with the beams forever..So rotation does not really matter and if you follow the beam you wont get hit ever or just dead stop before you get hit then disable it for 45 seconds.
They could attach two more beams to make it slightly harder and justify a 3 second beam immunity.
HONESTLY: Just having the no detection while stationary would have counter the 3 gen so they really didn't have to gut the killer like that.
Rip Drone Wraith build. Drones gave undetectable use rapid brute, save best, ultimate weapon, +1 choice and speed while in drone area add-ons.
Dbd getting fked more and more by every patch is just godlike the amount of Idiocy and entitlement is unmeasurable.
Killer perk Buff: 5% Haste which is nothing
Survivor perk buff: 200% Speed boost.

I really like the changes to SM!!! Can you imagine they later added an animation to drones for when they hurt survivors? Like drones shooting at them… that'd be cool
I like every killer change they made from the PTB to the live, but this dev update exemplifies a problem that has persisted with BHVR for a long time.
Did you notice how the Furtive Chase section started? The PTB change wasn't well-received, so they made the change, a good change, going to the Live servers. But why did the initial change get greenlit in the first place. If I'm in the room, and there is a proposal to chanhe Furtive Chase by increasing the terror radius reduction by 1m for every token, I'd laugh because the change is stupid because the entire perk is flawed since a low terror radius in chase is almost entirely useless. BHVR really needed feedback from the community after releasing a tweaked version of the perk on the PTB 4 years after the original perk came out?
And even more egregiously – the Trapper section. From the PTB feedback, they noticed players found it impractical to wander so far to gather traps…. Trapper has been in the game since launch. This is the number 1 complaint people have with the killer? What do you mean "As we dug through the PTB feedback"? That… it's just wild to me.
And maybe you think I'm nit-picking, but this happens over and over and over. Remember the change to Pyramid Head's purple egg add on to increase the duration of killer instinct? Or the overheat changes they were going to make to Billy's engraving add ons. BHVR time after time demonstrates their lack of knowledge of their own game and how out of touch they are with their own community. Just have one guy at the company who actually plays the game and can veto stupid changes the team proposes, so BHVR doesn't look foolish in Dev Updates.
