This video explains the perk Whispers and showcases one of the few builds that can make it worth running in the current patch. After playing with this build several times both on stream and off, I’d say Deathslinger is probably one of the better users of it if you pair with M&A and the Iri Coin.

Feel free to skip to 1:47 if you don't care about the build explanation! 😅
Correct me if I'm wrong please but, Deathslinger does a sound when aiming sights, right? Taking that sound into consideration, does it ruin the stealth potential of this build?
I like to run a Silent Deathslinger build with Whispers using those similar perks, except also using the Police Badge + Whiskey for an even smaller terror radius + Furtive Chase and Monitor and Abuse. Before you get 1 token from Furtive Chase that's already having a 12 meter terror radius, which is well enough to land a shot on a unsuspecting survivor.
With at least 3 tokens with Furtive Chase, you make your terror radius down to zero. Making you completely silent, while very gimmicky, it can be fun to shoot unaware survivors and scare them.
As well I use whispers at times for stealthy killers like Wraith and Ghost Face. If you really wanna be a dick, when looking for hatch, remain stealthy then hit the hatch when Whispers goes off.
I used to run whispers on Pyramid Head and play with the caged survivors. I find the cage fast after caging and “camp” as some may call it, when 2 or more survivors show up I will just stand in front of the cage and it will appear somewhere else. It was something evil and “fun”😂.
This perk should haave been base kit for killers as well as kindred for survivors.
15:31 audio has been messed up for me too so I think it's an issue with the game. I was on RPD and I had an injured Leon right in my ear even though he wasn't.
The little tips about how to tell if you hit the survivor from far enough based off how much BP you earn is something I didn’t know. That’s cool
Would a good deathslinger quality of life buff be to make it so he just pulls you up on his shoulder if you are to go down from that hit? Sorta like the Wesker treatment
I like Whispers a lot against stealthy survivors, haven't played it even nearly as much against non-stealthy ones
What if a mean deathslinger wanted to camp with this build/general idea? Maybe sub in insidious?
I really like whispers for the beginning and end of matches.
Honestly it doesn't seems like Whispers really helped you to track and find survivors, you could find all of them easily without it… And most of the times survivors saw you before you approached to them, so this stealthy build also looks not really promising 🙁
When I was new to the game I used whispers to tell me if I was far enough for devour to proc or not
Bro randomly decided to play call of duty in dbd
Why'd you have to bring up old Iron Will T.T My heart still hasn't healed since it was so brutally murdered in a dark alley >.<
Hey otz, can you make a 2023 guide for anybody trying start from the base game. My issue right now is being matched with players of better skill and longer play time and just outright getting demotivated to play. If I play as a survivor, 9/10 games I get thrown into a killer who knows what he is doing and gets us 4k'd in under 10 minutes tops. If I play as a killer, 9/10 it's either a smurf team wanting to bully me (once I recognize it, I just start tunneling because what can I do?) or a bunch of good solo survivors with all the perks unlocked, meanwhile here I am running what I could just so that I can hope to slow them down and get 1 kill, even in this situation, I try to play around DS and other meta perks so I did learn some things from you but the grind upwards just to get on their level is ABYSMAL.
TL;DR: Any tips on starting from 0? Like seriously, you have nothing to work with and it makes the upward grind to where the majority of players are, very frustrating to say the least.
Hey Otz I’m kinda interested to see you make a solid lightborn build so you can’t get flashy saved against a team that all brings flashlights!
fkn love watching deathslinger
Whispers is a go to perk for me on almost every killer but then again I am hard of hearing so I rely on it and things like Spine Chill to compensate for my disability.
Is the way he's playing not considered extreme camping, at least by a lower ranks standard? or when you get higher up is it more permissable by the communities standards to literally be looking at someone on hook for 30s of the timer
Sadly killer mains are becoming softer and softer you can't even play a single game with no tunneling or camping anymore… I love playing trapper and doctor and I do relatively well with 3ks 90% of my games… Idk why we have this mindset of having to skullfuck the other side to 'win'
whispers needs a nerf to account for all the nerfs to survivor since 2016, game is completely different and in my opinion it is really harmful to overall gameplay.
i say, make it activate for 10 seconds, after a gen pops, with a radius of 19-19.5-20 meters…
thats more then reasonable 👍🏼
(a nerf to killer… since when?
thats where bhvr milk all there money 💀)
I would like to see a video about uncounterable perks. Example: Bloodhound is not uncouteravle, because no mither, but shadowborn and unrelenting are.
For the most consistent builds, which never are reduced in power and can only grow in value if lucky.
ghostface would be nice with this right
just went against someone with this build and i hate it
7:45 i dont why, but sometimes i forget that Otz is a great killer
Whispers was my main perk on every killer until nowhere to hide. Saves wasting time checking areas.
My first dbd main ❤️
That 1:35 part where you've prepared 2 build slots so the information comes in smoothly piece by piece, its the little things like that where you can tell you really care about making your content with high quality. Thanks a lot!
I'd love to use slinger but being an Xbox one player it's really hard to use slingers power effectively. The no ads sensitivity slider thing really bugs me the most as you can't separate the sensitivity from the base killer sensitivity for m1's making him the most difficult killer to use as a console player imo.
Ik u weren’t running it on deathslinger cuz ur running a build that works well with whispers, but omg is save the best last so good on him. makes it so easy to get fast downs
