For me i am fine with some haste perks. I just feel like in dbd we have to many haste and exposed perks. I do hope one day they can do crazy new ideas. That can be really fun. Honesty its why i love residual so much. The first perk to give a killer a debuff or why i think 2 can play is fun. Even though my eyes hate it.
Oh for the change for the sable perk. Devs said it on reddit. Its when your hook in basement. You can guarantee to unhook yourself. If you unhook yourself or someone unhooks you in basement. You see the killers aura for 20 secons in tir 3
How do you go from philosophical in these videos, to being kinda wild on stream, not an insult just wondering how it doesn't overlap as far as i can tell
Maybe instead of calling behaviour's band-aid haste fix "lazy", we could call it "clumsy" because it doesn't feel particularly deliberate, just a clumsy default replacement for a perk effect.
Hey now… I like my speed combo builds especially on my p100 chucky survivors freak tf out seeing a 110 killer all of a sudden moving 130% speed
"When in doubt, haste it out" 😂
Sorry to break your heart but the Unknown has availt perk thst grants haste after vaulting lol
Pretty sure shadowborn doesn't work with lightborn since you need to actually get blinded to active shadowborn and lightborn stops that. Would've been a much more fun perk if it activated when you avoided being blinded instead.
Isn't shadowborn activates after the blind? So it would not work with lightborn, because you are immune to SB activation
Your comments about lethal pursuer type perks got me thinking about what they would be, so heres 4 perks that would individually make for great "package pieces" or hilariously be used all together for the "Blow your load in 10 seconds" build:
1) Lethal pursuer- You know what this one is
2) Nasty Surprise-It's L.P. but for the undetectable status, might have some different time values, but it would be fine if it was exactly the same.
3) Unleash the Cacophony- at the start of the match, all survivors scream repeatedly for 10 seconds. Afterwards for the rest of the trial, survivors that scream by any means will scream one additional time shortly after.
4)*name pending* Speed Demon / Like a Bat Outta Hell- At the start of the match the killer's walking speed is +100% for 10 seconds, afterwards any haste status effect last for an additional 2 seconds *note the initial 10 seconds does not increase the M2 movement speed of applicable killer powers such as Blight or Hillbilly, normal walking only.
HAHAHA
That's my rework design for shadowborn except how it would work: you start the trial undetectable, and anytime you do the following actions, hitting a survivor, opening a locker, or kicking any breakables, you will lose it
& anytime you gain the undetectable effect, it will linger for 5 seconds longer.
Great minds think alike ahh Kaiser
Being a Scare Merchant player I would love a perk that strengthens the stealth aspect of perks
Haste based builds can be lots of good fun, legion with machine learning / PWYF / NOED and BFFs satisfies my dopamine hungry zoomer brain, but shadowborn rework was such a huge miss.
I guess they were going for a lore interaction between Alan Wakes Champion of light vs Shadoborn (speed increase vs speed decrease), but ten seconds of haste mostly happening after getting blinded at a pallet is barely anything if they dont run in a straight line and it doesnt reflect the prior use as tracking tool in any way.
Overall they started slapping haste on everything.
Legion and Ghostface rework >> haste addons, Trapper rework – haste, Skullmerchant – haste, Singularity addon – haste, Knight buff, new perks and many addon overhauls all included haste in some form.
Speed is nice but creative addons n buffs are in a league of their own
Before I say this… Kaiser you did it again love the video. What your saying here is the truth the devs at behavior needs to take notes on this I understand haste on certain Killers other than that this haste thing has gotten a little over used
I know the word or term you’re looking for instead of lazy. Its counter productive perhaps fits your description?
I liked your Shadowborn Idea ….. But it will never happen …. as the Perk Belongs to Wraith that starts the match indetectable.
I don´t really like how, following al the discussion about this game becoming worse for beginners with the stranger things perks leaving the general pool behaviour had the opportunity to finally create a useful perk for a free character that has arguably the worst set of teachables in the game, and completely wasted it creating yet another terrible haste perk that will lead nowhere as always, just disappointing.
Giving Shadowborn haste is ok although like you said Kaiser undetectable would be better, but if they insist on keeping the haste status effects it should apply after the blind is over, because currently you’re losing some of the effect because you’ve been blinded.
🧐🧐🧐🧐 all the haste effects were cool with you yesterday sir. Jk ….
I mean…the DEAFEN status effect goes almost completely unused, and I think a good perk could really utilize it potentially.
I had a friend suggest a buff to "blindness" but it could also be it's own status effect too. Something that removes all HUD elements. You can't see who's injured, gen progress, healing progress, hex's status effects, you name it. Like the light's out mode but for all information. Perhaps that's something deafen could tap into aswell by denying you the information of hearing survivors screams when they go down or something.
All just suggestions. Balancing of course needed
With you talking about Spine chill being used to compensate for poor hearing, do you have any tips for how to face Spirit without being able to hear her?
Using Lightborn with Shadowborn is not necessary. Most times you get use out of the new Shadowborn is at pallets where you can see again not long after breaking it. Lightborn just leads to people not doing that anymore and making Shadowborn useless.
Shadowborn is like Two can Play a fun way to counter Flashlights. I hate Lightborn because it just makes Flashlights useless and feels uninteractive. Most good Survivors will just stop trying to blind when they notice you having it and do gens or simply make more distance in chase, so it acutally even feels like a Survivor Perk sometimes.
A good build I've been using when there are 4 flashlights in my lobby is: Shadowborn, Nemesis, Game Afoot and Furtive Chase:
> Someone blinds you at a pallet, they become obsession due to Nemesis. (After you can see again you even see their Aura)
> You break the pallet and become 15% faster due to Shadowborn and Game Afoot.
> You down the person and because they are Obsession you activate Furtive Chase when hooking them. Giving you Speed and Undetectable for free again.
Its more of the fun side of things but it seems to work great. Especially when they bring the new Alan Wake perk they wont expect what will hit them.
I'd argue that (before colour blind was added after 5 fucking years) bloodhound was also an accessibility perk, it's still ridiculous just how long accessibility features have been tied to perks. I don't think there are any now? But it's insane just how long it took.
Yeah every new chapter had a haste perk. The unknown has un-something which gives you haste when you vault. Just its way too niche because you need to injure someone and then use it on a 30 second time period.
I feel as if though killers are to fast half the time. I get alot of matches with killers where we can't get even one gen done. So I agree slapping haste on everything creates a new problem in itself with mostly survivor Maines see more often. And I agree even as a survivor tha trapper needs a buff. They could also just make a epileptic setting for being flashed lighted where your screen just turns black. I had to warn my friend about playing killer before he started. I wish some of the direction perks threw audio help see aura and not sound honestly cuz you right. Plus there are alot of killers with full on detection. I find there are way more killers and perks for detection now. I can't trust lockers, can't trust guns with 2 or more people, no insane chat to work with our team, can't chill for to long to get an idea of were they are cuz of crows, can't run around to much cuz of scratch marks. They try to say "oh theirs 4 survivors and one killers thats fair". Bruh you are immortal as killer lol, like oh your mad you didn't hook this person or didn't hit this person cuz of this perk. Honestly man being a survivor main sucks more and half our perks are virtually worthless. So its like ill spend anywhere from 5-45 min working on gens, for one person bring them to me and then I'm fucked for the rest of the game. Even with the knew unhook system I still have people tunnel me right after I get MYSELF off the hook and still catch me over and over and over. I see both concerns. But in my opinion killer mains are the only one vocalizing complaints and actually being catered to.
Yeah I never thought giving trapper haste after setting a trap made sense. Giving him haste after catching a survivor could of made it so much easier for him to get kills since you could actually make it to the nea whose ankle is shattered across the map. And it would of made sense lore wise too. Like of course bro would move faster when he knows he got someone with the weakest type of trap known to man. Also for the name trapper you’re assume he’d have more traps up his sleeve. Like he should be able to sabotage gens or weaken the structure of a pallet so when a survivor tries to vault it the pallet snaps and they fall on a bear trap placed under it.
New shadowborn pisses me off because it makes no real sense and is just shit lightborn that feels like they literally just gave the effect they gave as a pseudocounter to alan wake. Which, once again, is just a straight up worse lightborn.
I still maintain that shadowborn should have made survivors have white glow like they get from singularity's cameras or dredge's nightfall, but within a short distance of the killer so that, as the name implies, you can see survivors clearer in the darkness.
I genuinely thought they would use shadowborn to increase the brightness of dark areas of the map
