STOP Saying This About 3 Gens (You're Wrong) – Dead By Daylight Commentary

everywhere i look, i see every single killer getting called a 3 gen killer. 3 gen killers are killers whose STRONGEST aspect is holding 3 gens, but people now believe its just any killer that can walk from gen to gen and use their ability (literally all of them).

  1. How rare. An actual, sane and well argumented take about DBD! I find one part of the video funny, and that is the Trapper “Three Gen Killer” as back in the days, the only good way to play him was to either play basement trapper, or protect a three gen from the start. So in my heart, Trapper will always be a Three Gen killer 😅 It’s just that he pales in comparison to SM 😂

  2. Quite the interesting video to see, and I will admit that I am a Skull Merchant player (Take that as you will), but I agree she has many flaws that need to be looked into. I always found the 3-gen topic to be very interesting for DBD, considering how overbloated it has become as a concept, and with Skull Merchant, it is a very touchy topic. There are many players, myself included, who are just trying to play the killer and attempt to make everyone have fun, such as through the chase merchant playstyle, however, the 3-gen playstyle still lingers like a plague on the character, one which I hope can see some adjustments in the near future. Hopefully, with the recent changes to the gen-kick meta perks, along with promised changes BHVR talked about with looking at 3-genning, I suspect Skull Merchant will be one of the characters they will look at carefully with these adjustments. It actually might have been a hidden blessing that Knight and Skull Merchant came out the way they did, because it now shows how abusive certain perks and 3-genning can be for the game.

  3. Good video. In truth, I don't think most Killers 3 gen by choice. Rather, the game often collapses naturally into this phenomenon. If you play Hag or Trapper, the 3 gen zone develops predictably. I kick gens because I like a pause to think in a match. Also, it's my job. 😉

  4. i do respect that i do feel like any killer can technically 3 gen just some do better then others like skull merchant can place drones to detect the survivors on the gens but either way you still got to walk all the way over their no matter what and its a easy counter cause you see people on that one gen from your drones and you go all the way over their while that happens another survivor can just work on another gen that cycle can happen until the gen is done so either way that would still be considered gen patrol either way if the survivors 3 gen they most likely dead no matter what killer it is

  5. Anyone can hold a three gen but some killers have kits that support it way more. Skull Merchant and Knight are definitely the worst, I agree. You’re totally on point about the term being used to death, it’s definitely become a buzzword. Who in their right mind thinks Demo or Trapper is a three gen killer. Hope they stretched before they reached that hard.

  6. Knight gets so much hate but i enjoy playing as him and he is only weak against swf teams due to how some of his guards work like jailor being the most useless one unless your going for instant downs with his iredecent add on

  7. The singularity looks like a lot of fun (i cant play the ptb so have to wait for it to come out). But ive seen so many gameplay video's and from what ive seen hes the furthest thing from skull merchant like the devs saw how they fucked up with skull merchant and went the opposite way. From what i can tell and i could be wrong is that the singularity benefits from chases and does well with map control. I'm all for a chase based killer

  8. I was in a match against a skull merchant last week and the match lasted FOURTY FIVE MINUTES because he threw gen’d us but we ended up winning due to some strong perseverance amongst my team and then despite the skull merchant holding the match hostage for us by 3 gening us HE TOLD US ALL OFF IN END GAME CHAT AND TOLD US HOW ALL OF OUR PERKS WERE CHEATING. Dude, I was running unbreakable, sprint burst, blast mine and appraisal 😅

  9. Skull Merchant has counterplay too. You can hack the drones and she loses a drone for every drone hacked – and gets faster. People still bitching about this are either uninformed or just bad at the game.

  10. the fact people say trapper is a 3 gen killer is probably because the monthly trapper they face just starts the match, traps the hell out of a 3 gen with trapper sack and bloody coil and does nothing else.
    Great video tho!

  11. More often than not, I think three genning happens by complete accident due to lack of survivor coordination on which gens are done, or a killer with bad map control like trickster. My least favorite thing besides SM is being three genned with a blight because it just feels so hopeless, even though he's def not a three gen killer. That being said, the counterplay against Singularity was clear to the get go unlike SM where your only counterplay options are be exposed, be tracked and risk her holding the gen anyway, or give up. Even the singularity teleporting isn't a guaranteed down if you can win your chase, or it'll at least waste a lot more of his time. Im quite excited to play against it for sure

  12. The game is fine, the bad think is the players, if you play as a surviver you will complain, and if you play as a killer you will complain. And the ones that don´t complain left the game because of the toxic players. Thats the sad reality of DBD. 🥲

  13. This was hard to watch. Its just a suvivor main complaining about the one period in dbd where they didnt have a 90 percent win rate, and the point didnt even get made. I dont know if you noticed but all regression perks got nerfed through the floor besides jolt, literally every single one of them. You cant 3 gen with 90 percent of the roster because without any good regression perks and sprint burst on 2/4 survivors per game. People are just scared a killer might not be D tier just predrop and hold forward to counter on release for once. This is a dead topic and a very long twitter post recorded bro. Literally almost no maps now are even winnable with most killers much less can a 3 gen be held.

  14. Im a knight main. Ive obviously held a 3 gen many times but its just so not fun.

I like to use him as a imformation killer and use summons to apply pressure but with some gen pressure.

I use 1.Nurses Calling 2.Nowhere to Hide 3.Jolt and 4. Huntresses Lullaby. (This is a flex spot so i will use Iron grasp, Light born or just anything else if needed

    I find it fun

  15. PSA to all killer mains, do whatever you want, survivors have complained about something at every single meta. The only way to please them is if you lose. So just have fun with whatever killer or build you like.

  16. I've never heard Demo being called a three-gen killer so maybe it's some salty people that lost on last gen to a Demo, but goddamn he absolutely sucks at it, he can do some portal play, sure, but it can't reliably hold it, you need to catch someone out of position.

  17. yh prior to knight merchant id say its the survivors fault for 3 gen'ing themselves but those pair force the interaction and hold them too well. It's kind of a shame both are cool designs and playing either is just asking for -rep on ur profile lol

  18. Killers like trapper and dredge aren't 3 gen killers but can significantly benefit from a 3 gen because of them being able to apply more pressure. Also funny you say skull merchant is a 3 gen killer, because 3 hours after this video was posted I decided to play Skull merchant and I was brought to yamoahka estate and they managed to 3 gen themselves I wasn't even going for the 3 gen. I was playing like any m1 killer.
