That's how it feels being a Skull Merchant main. Literally discourages me streaming DbD content. I know my community wants to see me play Skull Merchant and have fun, but the players that come to my chat just because I played her and attack me for doing so have discouraged me from streaming DbD. I'm ready for the trolls with my comment because it always happens but I love coming to your YouTube chat to explain my frustrations with the DbD community.
I think this is a really good thing to spread as it really is something about not just this game but gaming in general as of late where everyone is taking it to serious to the point of being unhealthy and honestly I did the same of taking a long break cause I was just so upset all the time and now I just brush it off and stop taking it seriously cause it's just a game. I sound old when I say this but remember when people would say dumb stuff over the mic and everyone knew they were just messing around and not serious. Can we go back to that?
I understand DCs sometimes, I really do. I forced killer to hook me out the game because I had played against 3 Legions prior to that match and that very same killer had been a Legion. I don't like playing against Legion but I will stomach it unless I keep getting them over and over again.
Go figure though, my next match ended up being against a camping tunneling Wraith.
Sometimes you have shitty days against shitty players and you've got choices beyond bullying, being petty, and/or becoming part of the problem.
Play another game, focus on a hobby, do some chores/homework/work, go eat, go for a walk, do some exercise, or just go to sleep.
No. That's how you permit games to be toxic and terrible for everyone.
If you play nurse the survivors have a right to DC. If one survivor gets hooked 3 times before any other survivor gets hooked once they deserve to complain/dc teabag whatever say bad things in post chat etc. if you bring left behind skeleton key unbreakable calm spirit etc and you don’t do gens unhooks heals or chase and hide all game and play for hatch you deserve the worst things imaginable and should uninstall and your team has the right to DC and get mad and continue to queue
Yeah, admittedly, I have been swearing quite a bit when playing because I can't play my favourite characters without losing due to my MMR and I'm not all that good; but I've been calming down recently and just shoving on meme builds. It makes it so much more enjoyable to play when I'm not taking the game seriously.
This is why I never understand the reason people get mad/upset about endgame toxicity.
I just press continue and go on to the next match, even if the match plays like sh*t and "trash talk en route" as soon as the killer transitions into endgame scoreboard.
It's the reason I hate the community for circlejerking about "it's just a game" and "we should see endgame chat on consoles", then there are people posting "not happy about toxicity OVER SOME TEXTS ON INTERNET".
Same stupidity goes to "teabag at exit gate is toxic" and "just leave" posts. As soon as the game is over, it's over, period. There isn't even "captain hindsight" to talk about because the same setup will never happen again. If people don't leave then I just AFK with my phone as they're just wasting their time.
10:56 me after i click at the killer and doing no gens and only one to escape and call the killer a loser
Yesterday I played and won against a streamer and went into the chat to say GG WP cause it was really hard won
But they went full toxicity on me and told me to commit self removal
It was just…depressing to see
I'm used to that from in-game
Not from streamers and its just real sad
I never understood why people take dead by daylight so seriously… its a game just like any other
I read it as stop taking kaiser so serious and I thought it was a hit piece on kaiser
There's a difference between not taking the game seriously and being annoyed by soloq experience
There is no rage, there is merely a smoldering fury on a short leash whilst I'm in the fog. 😂
I'd presume that that Feng had a friend she was waiting on and spectating. Good grief I'd hope so. Also why does the pinnacle of most ppl's insults amount to 'you're fat'? I've always found that weird. Like do they think that I'm somehow unaware and need to be shaminformed? So bizarre.
I just put on Spotify and have the visual heartbeat. I don’t care about this game as much as I did. It’s just a game, I like to zone out and jam to music. Sometimes it gets me in trouble cause I will crouch to the beats of whatever music I am listening to.. I won’t process the killer is near me. My aloofness does help me get better in chase.. because dropping the bass gets misconstrued as bags. 😅 SHIT GOTTA RUN.
I don’t take the game seriously & I am greatful for the gems I have made friends with from the good parts of this community.
When I first started playing I would get really upset when I came across really sweaty people (both survivors and killers). I would partake in some post chat saltiness from time to time. But that was the extent of it. Eventually it doesn't bother you as much, because you know the game is just bullshit sometimes. That being said, if you're playing a multiplayer game your actions do affect other real people. If you go out of your way to make their experience as boring as possible, you're just a dick. I hate when people say you shouldn't care about someone else's fun. You absolutely should if you're playing a game with them. Otherwise, openly cheating against someone should be ok, because the cheater is having fun and that's all that matters, right? That doesn't mean you need to treat them with silk gloves and let them win if they're losing. But at least don't intentionally antagonize them.
Can you do a joke video of all the bad things that can happen to you while you go in the basement and the killer knows you have the new survivor's perks?
Sure you might get hooked but heres some other horrible things to help with that list:
Victor could be down there…hes dirty
Insidious bubba…nuff said
Trapper's bear traps.
And the list goes on.
I don't take dbd games seriously at all anymore, I just go for good plays that improve my skill and it makes the losses do nothing to my mental and the wins infinitely more rewarding
What's wild is how many weirdo streamers there are in this game, like a large majority of people who stream dbd are genuinely unhinged. You come into a stream to say gg and it's an instant ban and get things thrown at you that can be really crazy I've been told to game end myself by several streamers who faced no consequences and they still tell people shit like that to this day simply because they lost at a video game.
I agree.
You should take breaks if you're getting tilted playing any game.
Your life will be better for it.
I usually start the match playing my best and try to sweat. And then after the game goes on I will let one or two go. One of the first couple survivors that die they get mad and think I picked them for some reason. And they will want to hang around and talk shit. But I get it they were smacked and then I just let the last two do gens and leave. Way she goes
God knows how the asymmetrical luck based game ended up with a competitive community
Waited 10 minutes when they could've got another game in during that time frame smh
TBH I've started subscribing to the blood points mentality. I go into matches at 70% efficiency and try to never push over it. If survivors get out, they get out, if they dont, they dont. At the end of the match if I have 30k BP or more on the score screen, then I take it as a win. I've never felt better playing DBD than by doing this. Its not that simple in the tougher matches, but once I stopped thinking about always 4King, everything is much less stressful.
