Hawkins may have loads of unsafe pallets. But there’s 2 strong loops that make up for it. It can be miserable to play with some killers
I think Léry’s and Hawkins are the worst maps for survivors. I can never remember what room is where, and Léry’s can be so big that it’s almost impossible to find anything. Gideon Meat Plant is the reason why Nemesis is one of my mains, not just because of his reach, but how quickly he can break pallets.
i must be a different breed of a DBD player. i enjoy all of the maps. i do not hate any of them. when i load in my focus is to find and seek the survivors.
My list is different from yours, but it was interesting hearing your list.
3. Azarov's Resting Place also known as the "I" map. It's one of the worst maps for survivors. It's very easy for the killer to control a 3 gen. I often end up dying trying to break a 3 gen if the killer never leaves one side of the map.
2. Haddonfield: The loops are worse than the Garden of Joy in my opinion. I'm glad it's going to be reworked soon.
1. Grim Pantry: It's an awful map for the Artist and Pyramid Head. Your main ability goes straight into the hill. If they fixed the killer's design, I'd like this map a little bit more. Punishment of the Damned should go up and down hills and stairs. I'm not sure how crows should be changed or not. Or just remove this massive hill. Also, a lot of survivors have an easier time crouch teching on this map which should be removed completely. It just breaks the game mechanics for me. I also hate the pog log on both swamp maps, and the main buildings are also a pain to loop. I like the swamp map for Billy. What do you guys think?
1:30 I like RPD, as long as it’s the East wing, then I know all the loops to mind game survivors and get a hit or down on them, it’s awesome when it works.
There are two maps which I hate the most. The swamp: it has too much tall grass and I hate the design and the placement of obstacles.
And the Gideon meat plant: it’s gotta be the most survivor sided map imaginable, so many loops and pallets it just makes me wanna DC. But the design is cool tho.
I really really hate to say it but a lot of your problems boil down to map knowledge. A lot of the maps you mentioned (borgo specifically) are in a very solid place right now, but a lot of the loops are small and need to be chained. There's a reason why windows of opportunity is the highest picked perk in the game, people can't be expected to memorize every map and it's variants, but if you find yourself getting 'deadzoned' a lot (like in RPD, which main has two really solid loops regardless if the pallet has broken with two VERY strong loops in the side rooms) maybe running windows more is the answer.
The only thing I like about Red Forest is it's based on actual red forest from Chornobyl. Although the reason why it's called "Red" Forest is because of disaster, since trees absorbed radiation and they've turned, well – red. In-game tho it isn't based on post-1986 forest, since The Huntress is from WW1 period.
But the map itself is soooo bullshit, hate it as much as Garden of Joy.
Overall, I don't agree with positions on the list, but with choices of the maps (except RPD, I'm actually like it both as survivor and killer).
I find a lot of the maps in this game are incredibly dark to the point of having very little visibility, no matter how bright I make my monitor. I’m surprised you didn’t group Yamaoka Estate and Badham with Red Forest, since along with the visibility issues it seems to have the same exact problems: unnecessarily big map, too much junk everywhere and foliage that sometimes is solid, etc.
I think the thing that sort of makes RPD redeemable is the loops are static. There’s very little variation to how they can spawn in the map, and once you know your way around it’s not that bad. Now I will say that yes, static maps are not as fun because there’s no chaos in the spawning, but at least RPD is entirely predictable. As survivor once you know your way around you can figure out which rooms and corridors to duck into to avoid getting hit and have a fairly decent place to buy time, albeit most of the time unsafe. As killer you have so many mindgame and cut off opportunities that are highly satisfying to pull off. That’s the only thing I would give to RPD
Hello Kaiser, I agree with what you are saying about the swamp with it taking advantage of the entire map but I don’t think that it should be a staple of what a map should be. I feel this way because my two main killers are bilght and pyramid head. The map has bad collision, so more often than not I would slip off a surface that I should be colliding with. With pyramid head since the map has different ground height it is tough to actually use his power since his power doesn’t go up hills. I don’t mean any disrespect with my comment and I have respect for your opinions.
There are two very easy, good loops for survivors to use on Gideon. Both on the main floor. However, I will agree that it is filled with a bunch of useless s*** and it mainly only has unsafe loops
The best maps are the ones wtih a fixed map structure, instead of random bullshit like L Walls, T walls, or C walls. Jungle Gyms are stupid.
I acaullty dont mind rpd or mothers dwelling.
Now Swamp, The Game, and crotus penn suck the most
freddies map is very lore accurate if you think about it. makes you fall asleep just like the game.
Both the schools are pretty awful maps, with bedham preschool being absolutely awful. There was a time where Lane was also absolutely awful but they made it… slightly 'less' terrible. You mentioned killer sided maps but not really any survivor tilted maps which are a TON.
I hate nostromo so much. Every side of the map has gens so close to each other it feels like no matter what u do you will always end up in a 3 gen especially near main. Killers can swing around every pallet because the loops are so small and if you're going against trickster or huntress well prepare to get hit over every loop. The killer can see you from 40 years away its just a terrible map for any survivor playing on it. Only good pallet is the one in main and that's about it lol
the names you call these maps have me dead lmao
For me- Badham. Friggin Badham. Survivor, killer, literally ANY killer besides the Unknown- instant ugh. I would love to launch that map into the sun. I hate it SOOOOO much.
Rpd for me is a problem for me because it’s so hard to remember which map is which, they both blend together for me and it makes things confusing
I actually do enjoy a lot of the new maps, namely Greenville and Dvarka deepwood, though Im not sure if I just like them for aesthetics or because they’re well designed, the only maps I dislike are RPD, and especially Hawkins, because it’s just so obnoxious to traverse, and aura’s are basically useless since half the time you see someone nearby you actually have to go to a door so far away just to get to the other side of the wall because everything is a long hallway
i think rpds real problem is like everything feels so linear. omce pallets are gone in a line its iver for that area. you know where youre gonna go so theres no unique chases yoy just temember how to connevt the loops and its over for liller or survivors lead u to a zone with no more pallets. also dcrew those 2 gens that spawn in the lobby yhere are not enough pallets and windows foe those 2 dumb middle gens
I agree with everything, except that I would actually put Midwich up there because it is the smallest map and easiest for the killer to get 4K. I agree with you on the comments about rotten fields. It is by far the map with the fest pallets. But there is one thing I don't agree, and that is the spread of generators on mothers dwelling and Borgo. Whenever I play any of those two all of the seven generators are spread perfectly they are always generators too far corners and a generator in the shack the main building, and the other three generators are spread evenly around the center in the middle. I have never seen a zone on mothers dwelling or Borgo that doesn't have a single GEN or two or three gens that are clumped together
Try to play Singularity and spawn in on Hawkins MY GOD
Agreed with your list. Here is my top 3 least favorite maps in the game as a killer player.
3. Garden of Joy
2. Badham Preschool
1. Gideon Meat Plant
Honorable Mentions.
RPD
Haddonfield
Disturbed Ward. Easily 4th least favorite. This one came very close to the top 3 but was barely beat out by the others.
I used to main Huntress and the funny thing is Gideon is one of her best maps so it was fun as killer but awful when you play survivor against a good huntress. I don’t mind RPD. But the 2 maps I hate the most is Father’s Campells chapel as both survivor and killer and the treatment theater as survivor I had no clue why. (Treatment theater is the best map for stealth killers just my opinion). But most of the maps I don’t mind as long as I don’t get them multiple times in a row
Based list 🫡 Completely agree that the swamps are underrated
3:16 agreed bro, half the maps a dead zone and the pallets that are there are mostly god pallets, people have tried to convince me that whichever wing is loads better than the other but I don’t care, its damn near always a grueling experience on both survivor and killer
Good afternoon
3: Badham
2: The Game
1: Swamps
Garden of Joy actually isn’t bad if you proxy camp and tunnel your first down (nothing really new to killer meta tbh)
RPD is dog water against good players, but everyone else is fair game
Haddonfield I rarely play in for whatever reason, weird
I was of the same opinion on rpd but after playing resident evil I have come to like it more but man can it still just be so draining to play on that map especially when they do the gen at the back and they all run there to heal. Also it's from re2
Badham. Having a map that’s been balanced about as well as Freddy that fails to make itself stand out on a visual level while also only being semi-bearable while playing area lockdown characters was one thing. But why are there 5 variations of it? Why must I put in so much extra effort to learn to make matches on a map I hate playing on bearable?
