Taking chases from killers in Dead by Daylight can sometimes be intimidating to new survivors. But with the right build, you can feel confident that you’ll have a better shot of survival. In this video we cover three different starter survivor builds that are perfect for looping and evading the killer.

  1. i like how yerv didn’t make these too OP because they know new survivors would be going against new killers. That’s probably why head on, deception, red herring, and no mither wasn’t included as a build.

  2. Geez, you make playing survivor look so easy! I have more than a thousand hours and I still suck. I like playing killer more now because I can be friendly and just have fun.
Btw that match against Wraith was hilarious. I also main Wraith but I don't have this cool skin.

  3. alternate builds i'd recommend for new players:
    – David – Dead Hard, Resilience, Self Aware, Dark Sense
    – Kate – Windows of Opp, Lightweight, Self Aware, Resilience
    – Jonah – Overcome, Resilience, Self Aware, Dark Sense
    – Nea – Balanced Landing, Urban Evasion, Self Aware, Dark Sense

The biggest thing is that if you're building for chase, you want an exhaustion perk and something to build around that and help your chase. All of the characters above and those mentioned in the video are either available at the start of the game or purchasable with iridescent shards (free – play time)

  4. hey yerv, thanks so much for this video! my two best friends just started playing, and literally about an hour ago i made personalised perk builds for each of them, so this is awesome to give them more ideas (and so i can finally force them into watching yerv content)

  5. simply for the sake of discussion: why do you recommend building around exhaustion perks for chase builds? :0

(i personally don't use an exhaustion perk in my builds anymore (haven't since they nerfed Balanced into the ground tbh) and don't really miss it all that much.)
