The Cursed Legacy Chapter: A Dead by Daylight Retrospective

Hey everyone, time for another retrospective. I started with my start, now let’s take a look at what I consider to be the true peak creation of BHVR: The Cursed Legacy chapter. Cursed Legacy is probably the best original chapter that BHVR have produced, and that’s saying something, seeing as we have 14 original chapters or paragraphs in the game. Cursed Legacy came at a time where things were pretty great, and the game felt like it was truly thriving. Chapter 13 was the Stranger Things chapter, probably the biggest chapter the game has ever had, in terms of the popularity of the license, but also in the amount of attention it drew to the game. So, chapter 14 really needed to be something special, being original and following Stranger Things, this chapter had to retain all those new people.

Chapter 21.5 has been revealed and is named Hour of the Witch, featuring new survivor Mikaela Reid. Mikaela is bringing a new type of survivor perk named Boon perks, that can bless dull totems, turning them into Boon totems.

    Best Mori
Best weapon cool down after hitting a survivor
    Best power
    Best accessories
    Best walking animation

  3. Oni is so good balanced, and I'm a legion main and I still think legion oh god It's so Boring they should try fixing them and skill than just running around and slicing and now I'm a nurse main for some reason

  4. Sometimes I like to think what if oni came out when spirit came out, and what if spirit came out when oni came out, so basically Oni gets released before spirit, cool thing to think about

  5. I have a very unpopular opinion on this chapter as I really dislike it. Starting with the good, I love the map. The turning stone statues are really creepy and I like the design with the temple in the middle. Yui is also a lovely character, one of my favorite survivors which I still play today. I also love her support type perks and I like playing them. But now the bad, the killer.. Besides the concept, his sound design, etc. which is absolutely lovely, as a killer character he's just.. Not good in my eyes. Might be just me being biased, but I really hate killers that 1st: one shot survivors and 2nd punish players for the mistakes of others. He can literally ignore you the whole time, you can avoid him the whole game over and in the end, he collected enough blood from others and just oneshots you. Just two things that make it extremely unfun to play against him. Also a killer that is used awfully lot for terrible facecamping, since getting his blood rush is so easily and so quickly done.. Playing him is.. Well, he's not really my type. I don't like killers that give me no challenge what so ever playing them. Oni is so easy, even against very good survivors and this while he needs literally no practice.. His perks are all pretty bad, except the one that spreads exhausted on injured survivors once you hook somebody, which I love using on Legion, which makes them literally a bit too strong sometimes. This is all coming from a mainly killer player. Maybe that explains something? I don't know. I'd just be happy if he wouldn't exist to be honest. He doesn't add anything to the game for me. At least the bad things outweight the good things by far, so yeah.

  6. I remember jumping into the hipe train of chapter 13's trailer as it was around when I started playing DbD. When everyone thought we were going to get Rin's father instead of The Oni.

Also a DbD youtuber back in those days said he didn't like The Oni because it looked like he had been taken straight from For Honor.

Also in my oppinion Oni's backstory is the best one of all killers as it gives him that crooked aura of a monster when you have him in front of you.
