  1. I 100% agree with the fact that some things like Legacy or Bloodletting should stay exclusive. But stuff like Masquerade Masks and Candy Weapons are so much easier to obtain that its not really a challenge to acquire them. Its a celebration of DBD it makes no sense to gate keep masks/crowns which are made FOR the celebration. Its like you cant have another birthday cake next year because you had one last year. The only things that should be exclusive is where you actually had to go and see something irl like tournaments, or conventions. In my eyes that a whole different type of commitment to the game.

  2. To be fair, with these cosmetics, it's been 3 and 4 years respectively since we've gotten the 5th and 4th anniversary crowns. I was gonna buy the rest of the last rift but I lost track of time, I really hope I get another chance at the deep rift cosmetics for Revision.

  3. I don’t know that I would even class this as exclusivity as it was specifically celebrating that event and available for everyone for free at the time, they just had to earn it. When it comes to limited time exclusives you have to pay for, that’s a different kettle of fish, and what I’d much rather they remedied.

  4. should be no exclusives (unless of course its for a platform like xbox/nintendo/sony) i'd love to see a blue shirted Dweet with the sony logo running side by side with a green shirted xbox and red shirt nintendo. smple little things like that. Also fomo can be solved by making battlepass season replayable Halo infinite style which will allow people to buy into seasons they missed to progress and get their stuff. Literally everyone wins but look…I'm just a mere nab head who loves dbd and the community. The dev's will never listen to me on this.

  5. I have been on both sides of this discussion. In Brawl Stars I played it from the start and got some skins that these days are very exclusive, but in DBD I started playing almost a year ago and don't have most exclusive skins. A while back Brawl Stars devs asked the community whether they should bring back old exclusive skins I answered "no", but was vastly outnumbered by people saying yes, probably newer players. In the end, devs decided they would bring these skins back, but recolored versions of them. I was mostly fine with this decision, but I don't think all exclusive skins should be treated equally. In my opinion, some skins are inherently more exclusive than others, which is why I answered "no", because I had one skin that was only obtainable at the start and never after and I didn't want that skin to get a recolor. For example, legacy skins in DBD should be more exclusive than skins from the rift. I think that all exclusive skins should be clearly marked as such to remove confusion and that some skins should stay permanently fully exclusive while others could come later in some sort of a recolor.

  6. I feel the best solution to this would be to bring them back, but have people earn them the same way everyone did back in the day. That way people have a chance to unlock them, but they have to work for it. That way Behaviours not just giving them away. I feel this would be the best middle ground.

  7. It’s fine idc about cosmetics I’ve only ever bought 2 outfits for my mains and that’s it and I never wear the crowns easier for the killer to see me plus I prefer darker clothes cause of hiding and such but yeah I got stuff from the 4th and 5th year on up I don’t even look at the crowns the legacy ones I get that for og players sure but the rest idc lol

  8. In my personal opinion, I don't really find exclusive consumer friendly, especially console exclusive things. Unless it's the logo of the company or something. When Stranger Things left, FOMO was hitting me hard, as I felt obligated to buy everything; which I did. Same with AOT I don't missing out on things.

  9. I think one of the deciding factors for rereleasing the 4th anniversary crowns is because of the new ingame store. It allows you to see unavailable cosmetics. This includes the previously unreleased Elodie, Felix, Blight, and Twins 4th anniversary crowns. The anniversary launched with Silent Hill, leaving Descent and Binding chapters crownless. Now that we can see that these characters got crowns that could never be claimed, this new code not only allows new players that weren't around for the event a chance to get these crown cosmetics, it also allows old players with all of the other crowns to get their hands on these previously unreleased cosmetics.

Just my theory. But it could any number of reasons.

  10. the only items i’m bummed out about that are returning are the original two rift charms, the nectar vile and the lunar lantern. i own both. it was a great way to show you supported and grinded their take of a battle pass from the beginning. many people were on the fence about. they were at the end of the rifts. they were super cool to show off and show you put in a lot of time in for a new system especially when challenges were new and some sucked and were extremely difficult before adjustments were made overtime. now you can just buy them for 300 auric cells in charm bundles whenever they return. it makes the grind back then feel pointless and there’s no other way to show you have been putting in that grind since day one.

  11. I personally don't care which direction they go in for this matter. I think BHVR are just trying to make people happy. I will say I do want a special cosmetic or badge for completing EVERY SINGLE archive challenge in the game, or having multiple p100s. stuff like that would be cool since its not fomo and also not just any scrub can get it.

  12. Their stance on this has been pretty set, actually.

They were always clear that with Legacy, they would not EVER re-issue those (Even to folks who lost them due to a technical glitch they had no control over…which was pretty horseshit of them).

But a few years ago, they were addressing an issue with folks taking codes from conventions, with exclusive items, and selling for hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars. That's when they put their foot down, gave everyone those items, and then said "We're not doing exclusive items any more.". Some, like the Chinese New Year items for David, Huntress, and Feng Min took a little longer, but did eventually get awarded to everyone.

Nowadays, for most of the items, you can earn them for free during the event, and then have to pay for them later down the line, even with just Iri shards.

The Crowns for years 4 and 5, have been an exception. Much like the Frosty Eyes, they tend to come back in some form with a code. They were given away last year too, but people are quick to forget about that.

I personally grinded out each and every cosmetic item for years 4 and 5, and it doesn't really bother me. The Crowns aren't hardly used as it is, and in a way provides a nerf to you as a Survivor, as you become much more visible with one on. So if they want to grant these to folks, it's really not that big of a deal.

  13. This game is on its last legs. They disenfranchised there old player base to appeal to comp players. Comp players ruined this game. They already kicked OG players in the face.

  14. There’s a certain pride in having skins that’s not available anymore, not just for the grind, but for the memories of that event, but im that guy that refuses to use all of his ghastly gateau and terrormisu just because I like seeing them in my inventory from years past

  15. That’s how my stance basically is. BHVR can’t decide if they want exclusive cosmetics or not. You either have exclusivity or you don’t. You can’t have it both ways and solely gatekeep Legacy as the only exclusive cosmetic 🤷🏻‍♂️

  16. I'll say the same thing I said in Paulie's video about crowns.

I've been playing DBD for 7 years and I always liked having things that rewarded me for putting in the time and it is kind of weird that people that did not grind for the old crowns as an example with the older blood web feels kind of bad (not the legacy blood but it's changed in 7 years.

The other part of me is like "it's just a cosmetic and if newer players want it then awesome they got it".

With that said I'm very jealous of legacy players when I see them, but it also shows me I'm playing with someone that earned it and has been playing since the beginning. And I liked that feeling with certain items I had that no one else had from me playing for 7 years.

It is just a cosmetic at the end of the day tho.

  17. I think they should make that exclusive and keep it exclusive or stop saying they’re going at that this is exclusive they did this with the tome, and then they added the deep rift that they’re saying that those aren’t gonna come back. But who’s to say, they won’t change their mind

  18. I have once envied randoms who got those crowns on. But I got over it, it's just how FOMO works. But getting it this easy this time, I feel bad towards everyone who're surely more OG than myself.

  19. FOMO's a scummy business tactic and everyone should be able to unlock cosmetics full stop. It's a game, you shouldn't need (let alone get bittter about) a glorified loyalty card that nobody else gets to have so you can show off how much time of your life you're dedicated to playing a video game. Gatekeeping is lame.
