The other survivors are your friends. The gens are my friends. WE are not the same.

  1. I was playing as Huntress on the Game, doing the challenge where you need to get basement hooks. There are 1 or even 0 gens done – and I already have three people on the floor in the basement (not from camping – they were younglings and their timing in coming to save their friends was just really unfortunate). The last person – a Dwight – is nowhere to be seen. Since I don't actually want to kill anyone, I carry them out of the basement myself and leave them on the next tile on the floor – when I hear a gen pop. That Dwight had been on a gen the entire time. He finally comes down to get his friends, picks one or two of them up – at which point I catch him and hook him in the basement.

His friends left him there to die, nobody came for him. I assumed that that's their payback for him not rescuing them and leave it at that. I messed around with them and let them all go, telling them that "Mama Anna loves you" in post-game chat. The Dwight was still there and asked "Mummy, but what about me?", to which I told him that friends come before gens. He wasn't salty about it, it was a sort of teasing playing upset, so good on him for having such a healthy attitude.

And as fate would have it, I got them again in the very next match (a duo or trio SWF). He came to rescue his friend from the basement with BT, took a hook state like a champ, and then I farmed with them some more 🙂 they're so adorable when they aren't being cocky little shits.
