the crazy part is i truly don’t think this perk was gamebreaking by itself but when mixed with swfs it became so much free info for nothing also on some maps that are poorly designed midwhich for example if a survivor always ran you could literally never catch them because they could just keep running before you ever got close to them making it physically impossible to catch them
I still use object to this day I love being updated on the killers location every now and then and messing with killers that have aura builds also incentivizes chases too which is a +

Ive been running this perk recently and its actually been pretty nice its nice to see the killer during chase every so often and its nice to know when the killer sees you
otz’s rating of object is way lower than it should be, we have a mate who always runs it in our swf so we know straight away if the killer has lethal pursuer and get coms on if the killer has any other aura addons and perks. It’s a more aggressive version of distortion IMO that gives you info mid-chase
I started playing dbd week before freddy krueger was added in game (october 2017) and every survivor with object was really nightmare to me, the most of them was just a very good survivors or just of learning the game I sucked at that (Im meaning to play killers [Im playing only killers since 2018] not the title Nightmare of freddy)
It was my favourite perk before 😔

Ah yes, the “one” perk that broke dbd in this era, which was only useful in organised swfs, definitely not old DH or old DS, old OoO was definitely the singular perk that broke dbd
So object reveals the killers aura when your aura is revealed, and blood pact reveals your aura when you put the obsession are injured. I don't know if anyone tested it back then, but empathic connection probably would've revealed the killers aura when an injured survivor was in 96 meters of you (either that or the bug was your aura getting revealed with no range restriction)
It was my favorite perk back in the days it was strong but you saw it so rarely because people dont understand how to use it or have not enough gameknowledge and say "ah nah such a bad perk, object of shitness etc." The most broken perk for me was "meddle of man " when all 4 survival using it in combination with DH and DS

Edit: object is still good pare it with dark sense and you see the killer for a long time or you can just run an aura build to see the killer every move
Old object was the most fun perk to run and I was playing solo q most of the time, even before undetectable existed it never felt overpowered and I rarely went up against it as killer, even so if it was a stealth killer after undetectable and you had object you were at a disadvantage because the killer could see you while you couldn't
