For a short period, there was a perk far stronger than Decisive Strike even at its strongest point – a perk that completely BROKE Dead by Daylight.

I'd say old DS wasn't quite as broken as you say, because it only granted an instant stun for 1 person per trial. The other 3 had to wiggle to 25% to get their skillcheck.
Would you say this was worse than the time when flashlights and pallets could stun at any point in the animation?
love the rayman music 🎶
Im pretty sure back then the absolute amount of hits you could take with everything at your disposal was like 7 hits
Back then but i could be wrong

hi I found you recently like your videos keep up the good work
Of course it is over powered bc ash himself overpowered lore wise ( at least army of darkness and ash vs evil dead lol)
Like this comment if you didn't hear a word ardetha said because you were taking notes on the chase footage
I had a unique experience during this time. I mained Leatherface since I got the game in 2018, so I didn't really have to worry about Mettle since the Chainsaw wouldn't give stacks to the perk.
Not to mention, I am an enormous fan of the Evil Dead, so I was dishing out Mettle but was never on the receiving end of it.
Love your content like this. It's DBD history. I'm an early player so it's very nostalgic too
Do the video g, it’s very fascinating to learn about the games past with the community. I’ve only been playing Dead By Daylight for little over a year.
00:03 Like old DH ?
im pretty sure old mettle could only be activated once
The worst part about Ash Vs Evil Dead is that there wasn’t even a PTB to play test his perks or the update in general. They just dropped him straight into the game.
I ain’t gonna lie I look forward to your vids because of the Rayman 3 music lol but man I haven’t of this perk in a minute!
Hopefully he does hill billy or the nurse one of these days. These videos are entertaining, informative & nostalgic🫡
Mettle of man is such a cool perk name just to be bad. Same with the rest of ash's perks. If they reworked him into a full anti slug character I feel he would be somewhat considered strong
I use flipflop a fair bit, not many killers expect it and I've gotten some cheeky escapes
bro what was that nurse ON
I had a match with old mettle and selfcare in which I took like 15 protection hits in a 2vs1 situation :))
do a vid on old legion pls
rayman 3 music, nice
I hate how they use all the good perks now on the characters as a cash grab way to force you into paying money to get the characters it's already bad enough with the useless matchmaking system I'm being literally put against pros who know how to use every advantage possible and perfectly executed and timing almost every match I've been barely playing this game for 3 days 🙄🤦♂️
And what's with the lack of lore recently plus are they ever going to let us know if the Halloween event is even Canon it's a huge waste of potential to not go a little further with explaining and letting hints of lore through tomes in this stuff like that 😞
People use the Shrine of Secrets as a defense that DbD is not P2W. News Flash: That was what it was made for; plausible deniability. Perks from licensed chapters don't even appear for a year in the Shrine. Mettle of Man received its hard nerf long before it ever had a chance to appear in the Shrine.
Mettle of Man was as strong as it was simply to increase the sales of a licensed survivor-only chapter. Well, either that or BHVR was incompetent which was and still is entirely possible.
So basically the players and losers who paid for it and got access to it and had money for it are mad that they spent money on it even though they were the ones who said it's technically not pay DLC so they didn't get scammed in their own logic lol salt salt salt
Da Rayman ost
Ah yes they made this purposely to make a huge sale
How about they buff metal of man. You take one protection hit and the perk activates. You can take one extra hit but that's it. After that the perk deactivates for the rest of the game.
Could you do a video on the old infinite loops?
I love these documentary form videos man, keep it up!
You should look back on bugs from previous patches and how game breaking some were, like the patch that made survivors hit boxes 4 ft further back, or in previous patches when you could window tech killers more consistently
i feel the perk most comparable to old mettle is probably off the record. sure the activation is different but any conspicuous action removes endurance and on top of that you get old iron will and distortion. it is my favorite anti tunnel perk by far
self care story, when?
Hey I just wanted to say these videos are really well done, and I always get excited to watch them! Keep up the good work 👌🏼
If it weren't for the thumbnail, I really would have thought you were gonna say OG Ruin. I didn't play at that time, but my understanding was that OG ruin was in a similar place except on the killer side.
I watch these videos and wonder why killer mains bothered playing at all. Thank God for the changes that have been made so far, damn.
Dead Hard used to be baitable. It's not anymore. Unless you've literally only just downloaded the game, you can force it at Windows, Palettes and you can pretty much hit it 9 times out of 10 even just running in an open field. Dead Hard is just a free health state now except for people who can't figure out how to press a button.
Fun fact: I mained pre-rework freddy during the original mettle of man release. I didn’t play a ton of games, but there was one game I specifically remembered because of it. It was literally hard mode killer plus hard mode the perk. Honestly, it made me learn much faster because I made it as hard as possible 😂
Why’s bruh playing bot games
I really think they could afford to buff Mettle to have it work with unhooks, perhaps at half strength. So to activate it you'd need 3 bodyblocks, 6 unhooks, or any combination of the two.
I think BHVR's spaghetti code is a little too think to add something like that though so perhaps just 3 unhooks. I really don't think it would be that bad since you can't get Mettle again until you go down, and Deliverance (a far stronger perk) only requires one unhook to activate.
You’re like the DBD historian bro
the rayman background music made my day
yeah I thought mettle would be useful when I started playing, I actually got Ash because I like the actor/movies. Seeing how badly they made his perks was sad. If anything I'd rework it so MoM has an aura reading ability when struck or something dealing with temporary invulnerability, like gaining endurance, but for yourself when you unhook a survivor turning MoM from a body blocking build into a safe unhooking build. Although I'd have no idea of the nuances of such a change
Ok but why didn't they let the two hit buff play out for a bit
I was so sad when MoM got nerfed. I love Ash and still play him, but I remember when everyone HATED him because of MoM. He's still seen as a meme character, like Steve, but I try my best to not be toxic.
