Update: BHVR announced changes to the perk literally 1 day after I dropped the video, the classic. The exposed timer is now 40 seconds, it's better but this only really helps killers with good map pressure not need to proxy camp. The weaker killers with no or little map pressure are still going to be forced to proxy camp to guarantee value from that exposed timer.
Original comment:
I don't like just complaining without giving potential solutions and I forgot to mention that if they wanted a quick way to remove the need to proxy camp to guarantee value should someone use Shoulder the Burden, the exposed timer should be increased to something like 60 seconds (similar to make your choice). That way if someone does activate the perk, it gives the killer time to go back to the hook area and find the person to down them before the exposed timer is up. I went through like 8 different scripts and forgot to re-add that, amateur hour am I right.
The sweatiness of dbd is how Fortnite feels lol. I used to be good and everyone wasn’t so experienced
I dont tunnel and every game has three gens poped and i only gets kills by 2 to one gens, its kinda insane actually
Jfc I stg every video of this guy I see recommended is a bitch video
I just wish every game is killer wouldn't be 4 Swfs either sweating so hard i get 4kd or swfs who give up when they realize i won't chase the one furiously clicking the flashlight
i had at least 15 games of pig recently, more than half were p100 swfs and I've had many of the teams DC. Quitting against pig of all things
Its even worse with my main sadako more DC and more 4ks
Cuz being p14 definitely means I should at least have a p100 every match
I just wanna have a good time not lose terribly or win by dcs
Yeah, I've been practicing slugging just in anticipation of this perk
When is the perk where I can craft an Ak47 and chase the killer coming.
So….more slugging?
Hooking a survivor while leaving the area should just give some sort of benefit like giving a speedboost that for example gets removed after a chase starts or power is used (or proximity to survivors to prevent moonwalking up to survivors) to make the less mobile killers a bit better while not really benefitting killers like blight.
Also maybe something like "kicking a gen that is further than 40 meters away from a hooked survivor gives 20% regression on an initial kick, survivors that unhook themselves still count as on the hook for another this basically free pop the weazel" how this would stack with for example pop i leave to the devs but that's just an off the top idea.
Would kinda force survivors to leave gens to unhook and at the same time reward killers for leaving a hook.
Cant forget that one persons study who had a variety of killer mains play x amount of matches normally and the same amount slugging from the get go, hooking only when all 4 were down. The majority reported that games were easier, faster, and less stressful the more they slugged.
I fear this perk will bring much more slugging
Shoulder the Burden is fine
10 minutes too long. didnt watch.
lemme guess.
"waa, i'm a killer main, i wanna humilate, embarass and tunnel whoever i want. shoulder the burden denies me the chance to tunnel and camp a survivor out and extends my rage!!!
i want a perk to spawn all survivors on hook and even then i'll complain if someone gets off"
I just noticed that Proxy camping is kinda dead with the new hook timer being 70 seconds each stage if the survivors play smart and see that you are hardcore tunneling, they are probably going to wait before going for the unhook.
this is what happens when you have a community that refutes a big streamers talking points and a game development team that over exenterates suggestions from said communites. Moral of the story, dont listen to the soy boy streamer who paints his nails and abuses his status as "the wholesome streamer man"
Im a solo survivor and personally love Baby sitter, pumping heals while seeing where the killer is or going for the risky unhook end game is great. The main issue is using this perk and other survivors not taking advantage on the protection hit. Getting insta-downed after saving your ass cause you just bolted with 10% haste is the biggest slap in the face
I play all the time and honestly no you don’t need to tunnel hook one person than hook another person before that person gets unhooked and now you have pressure then with that pressure basically don’t drop it and give them more pressure so they have to heal do gens and something else most killers bring this something else with their power if not then bring hex plaything or something equal
Since you have brought up Otz's video for his belief in the enjoyment of modern DBD, I feel it's best to also mention an idea he had pre-PTB for a base-kit version of Shoulder the Burden. His idea was that if a survivor is in the struggle phase on the hook and only 2 hooks have ever occurred in a match, you as the unhooking survivor can choose to scream and give up a hook stage to the unhooked survivor. This would eliminate hard-tunneling while still leaving the insurance-policy-play-style available.
As for my own thoughts, I honestly think this is a band-aid for a bullet wound. Tunneling and slugging have always been "unintentional" ways to play the game that have mostly been alleviated by perks (and what isn't is really bad at its job — I'm looking at you anti-camp meter). What we need are hard-line ways to prevent these things from happening. Unpopular yes, but if we don't act now then the pipeline will keep having these perks that "solve" the problem. You know what the problem with that is? Two-fold: not everyone will have access to these perks, and even if they do the opportunity cost may leave the player abstaining from them for something else. It's why you see more Babysitters than Borrowed Times, or more Decisive Strikes and Off the Records than Bloodrushes in higher-level play and the opposite farther down; they have their niches, but why gamble on that when you can play it safe?
watching this as i got sent to eyrie fo crows twoce in a row LOL
I feel like something that wasn't really acknoledged in the video, or maybe it was and my bird brain already forgot, was that, no matter what you give to killers that play 'nicely' will be abused by killers that play sweaty as well.
We saw that when gen regression meta was at its peak. It wasn't "oh we have several gen regression perks, let me pick one and make a fun, varied build", it was "oh, let me pick 3-4 gen regression perks and draw out the match as much as possible". As nice as it would be to reward playing nicely, there really isn't much you can do, that wouldn't benefit sweaty P100 Nurses and Blights as well.
god you know what i hate more than stb .. scratchnarks
It’s been like a full day
Nowadays survivor mains treat ever killer like the person behing the screen is the same as who they're playing in-game, they also have an insane victim complex because everytime something bad happens to them it's the killers (or their teammates) fault.
Actually i use eyrie of crows offering as trapper, monitor upside down while getting tazed by the balls and get 4k each time so i call that a skill issue on your part
BHVR not catering to SWFs (challenge impossible)
Obviously depends on what killer & build you have but tunneling is absolutely id say necessary on pretty much any killer against a good swf if they are playing sweaty. Annoying bhvr doesnt understand this at all
That Portal music gives me nostalgia… sighs wistfully
This video starts with the assumption that we killer mains play in the most efficient way possible just because some survivors do too. Which is not true.
Although your point about dealing with the root of the problem instead of the symptoms is very VERY valid
