  1. I don't think DC penalties should be removed. If anything implement a system that flags your player ID when you DC many times in a row and either gives you a timeout after 3 or 4 times or, as Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel did, force you to reboot the game every time you do.
Alternatively I remember a friend of mine mentioning wanting a system where you could blacklist certain killers to go against. I disagree as the ideal would be to be able to manage against the whole bunch, but it is an angle.

  2. i have a small idea, BHVR should add a surrender option for survivor and killer, if you're playing survivor it wont work unless everyone agrees to surrender. As killer it only works if 1 or 2 players are remaining.

  3. To add to the point of killers dc'ing against certain items, the killer is able to see the survivors items in the lobby, unless of course the survivors do a last second swap. I think at this point the survivors should be able to see which killer it is in the lobby. So if survivors don't want to play against a nurse they won't have to. I do realize this could hurt stealth killers and other killers. But I feel like theyre already noticeable. Say for instance you spawn in and see a trap on the floor, boom its trapper. You spawn in and you do most of a gen without hearing a heartbeat, probably a stealth killer. They're are so many tells at this point in the game that I don't think we need to hide the killer anymore. Sure this could promote survivors switching builds to counter specific killers, but I feel killers are able to do that with survivor items by just throwing on something like lightborn or Franklins. Im aware this is heavily controversial but I'm willing to hear everyones thoughts on it.

  4. Its funny i see so mnay vids of suriviors bitching and crying about the killers. but i wonder if they have ever stopped to think they would have no games if there where no killers? lol

  5. as a killer main I've often see survivors DC on me whether if its cuz I've hooked them ( only once or twice, barely anyone who DC's on me tries to really escape the hook or wait to be rescued ) or if they see who im playing as.

Sometimes they'll DC on me in the middle of the match if I haven't been going at them but their teammates are getting themselves caught easily ( now im willing to admit maybe I've been being put in lobbies with newbies and thats probably why but seeing perks after games its like..50/50 if its a newbie or an unranked Vet survivor with their other survivor's perks )

honestly even if I dont win im totally chill with the survivors sticking around and doing what they wanna do, DC'ing just seems like it should be kept a penalty if it wasn't an internet or server related issue. Cuz rage quitters would abuse the power if there was no penalty.

  6. I mean Overwatch doesn’t have DC penalties and it’s a good game. DBD could take a page from Overwatch. So whenever someone DC’s they can replace the survivor with another one. And then the survivor who DC’s can get the match they want. If Overwatch is good with it, DBD can do it too. Nobody should be forced to play a match they don’t want to. They paid to have a fun experience and if a player isn’t having fun they have the right to DC and move on to a different match more suitable to their needs.

  7. The game knows when some one had a net work connection issues, and we know it does because it tells us this happened. So why don't they just not apply the DC penalty to that but do apply it to those who obviously left on purpose? I'm sure they could absolutely figure it out in a way to actually be fair to the situation

  8. Removing DC penalty would be pretty much good bye to adept achievments for some killers like Trickster, Leatherface, Legion maybe (as they´re often considered as annoying ones) and maybe for strong killers such as Nurse, Blight, Spirit too.
    Also situations like
    – ooh I´m dumb af and step into the trap like 20 seconds into the game -> DC
    – ooh I gave too much juice to Myers -> DC
    – ooh I didn´t see that huge pallet and got downed 2m away of it -> DC
    would happen really often.

I think the possibility of "turning off" matching unwilling killers would be great (let´s say 3 max per account), if it could be changed anytime player is not in the lobby nor is not searching for the match. But therefore survs couldn´t leave the match or they´d have quite big DC penalty.

  9. In my experiencs killers are either respectful about a survivor dcing super early (say their first hook at the start or before they have even been hooked) and throwing the game for their team or a complete dick about it going "gg ez winner winner chicken dinner" in the egc.
I've also had killers dc on my teams because they know they're not gonna get the 4k. takes away a lot of the fun of escaping but I just stay quiet in the egc because I wouldn't want a "gg ez" if it had been my teammate dcing.
If I got frustrated at a Kate 2 nights ago for dcing on her first hook when I was right there to get her at 4 gens with a killer who wasn't camping/proxy camping/face camping/tunneling I just know that killer had to be frustrated too. dude was doing "all the right things" and still got a dc.
I'm guilty of dcing before out of frustration – my first time being when I had been slugged for games in a row and it just kept happening. the other being a few nights ago when I got 7 ghostfaces in a row and this 1 pushed me over the edge by downing me. tbagging on my body for like 20 seconds. finally hooking me and then immediately tunneling me without going after anyone who else.

so yeah, in my crummy experiences I think the penalty should be kept. it's a small punishment for people who decide to throw the game early for their team and if I dc out of frustration due to finding people rude I can handle a 5 minute penalty.

  10. Yeah right now I am waiting on a DC penalty…because we have had massive lightning storms in this area the last few days…Nothing like having a 24 hour penalty due to no fault of my own…
    BUT
There NEEDS to be a DC penalty…it just needs to max out WAY , WAY lower then it does now…In almost all Online and MMORPG games you DC you get a 15 minutes deserter debuff before you can queue up again. 30minutes-1hour max really is where it should be at

  11. I think it should be removed entirely. As a console player the game isnt properly optimised and i have a dc bug and its completley random and has nothing to do with my internet or ps4. Its frustrating getting a 70 plus hour ban becuase of a bug on the games end of things. Plus i dont get really why theres a penalty in the first place , if someone ruins the game by dcing like a loser when im killer i just work with the survivors to get points and make it fair on them , and if your a survivor and a teammate dc’s just hope for a nice killer or move onto the next game. The problem wouldnt be there in the first place if most of the players werent cry baby idiots who get mad at a videogame not going how they wanted it to
Edit: removed until the game fixes these bugs

  12. I feel like yall take the disconnects and the game in general way too seriously. I don't see the issue since it's just a dumb party game after all. Dc penalty shouldn't be removed completely but I also don't wanna be forced to play against the same killers each time. Like I get legion and wesker all the damn time. it was nice to just dodge a boring match like that for once lol not to mention console and their shit wifi. The amount of times I had a dc just because of that and got punished is just unfair

  13. I don't think the DC penalty is healthy. No one should be forced to play a match they don't want to. It should remove your progress/points etc but putting you in baby jail is just silly, especially for a game with so many crashes. DBD has a terrible community and people will dc against things they don't like, penalty or not. The only time I'd support a time penalty is for people who do it multiple games in a row/excessively and it can increase from there.

  14. First off if survivors bring in med kits toolboxes etc the first thing killers do is bring the perk Franklin's demise which knocks out the item in the characters hand and completely drains it of use so that is no excuse to DC. And going against a certain killer should also not be an excuse to DC.

  15. Well definitely is an interesting one. I experienced DC's on both side. It's annoying when you play survivor and watch two of your teammates DC and then the other one killed himself on hook. And on killer side similar situation I end up farming or giving hatch with the last survivor who stays in. Yeah I'm one of those killers I mostly play legion in spirit.

  16. I don't d/c from matches on purpose. But when the killer has crappy internet and I get a "disconnected from host server" notification, I shouldn't be penalized for the killers crappy internet. I didn't disconnect at all but get penalized. It's crap that a game in 2022 doesn't have dedicated game servers.

  17. IMO, the issue with the penalty being gone is that some killers literally will not get games. Like, I remember Tatariu being harassed into locking because he expressed his view on the matter – and the thing is, he was right! Plague, Hag, Clown, Legion, Twins, Wraith, etc; people would just DC from them over and over again. It would make it increasingly hard for commonly disliked killers to even play the game, solely because survivors don't feel like it – and I'm basically a survivor main these days, and there are killers I dislike (Trickster, Wraith and Plague) but I would never DC because I'm tired of a killer.

Being slugged and bled out with no option to do anything else? I get it. Being held hostage via cheats or bodyblocking? I get it. But I will never understand giving up because you don't want to face a killer. That's just poor sportsmanship and atp, why are you even playing DBD? I only DC if I have to leave – I had a game today where I spawned in and something IRL needed my immediate attention, so I had to leave. But I hate DC'ing and I feel incredibly guilty each time I do it.

  18. I personally think that there needs to be a rework in regards to DCs. DC penalties and being punished for disconnecting is kind of outdated and there are a lot of good systems that could be implemented instead of what is already in the game.
Instead I feel like players should get replaced with bots or alternatively create a role queue to replaced players who DC but taking their health states and hook counts, kind of like joining a match mid-session on other games. Instead of punishing people for disconnecting, we should instead focus on making the experience of players not ruined by the disconnecting in the first place.

  19. I feel like if they want to continue the no dc penalty permanently then I feel like they should reward the killer heavily for it, though if there is a constant dc over and over again then there should start implementing a ban timer so a 3 chance per week before you dc again and get a 10 minute ban instead of a 5 minute then increase to 20 then 40

  20. i think keeping the dc penalty is the best idea. and for the ppl who say that they wanna have a good time with their games and not play certain games, there's nothing stopping them. just dc and take the penalty (or even just give up on hook) if you're not having fun. idk it feels like after all this, some ppl have forgotten that they still have the free will to dc if they want to its just going to have a minor repercussion so that it doesn't happen every single game ever.

  21. I'm all for dc penalties if you rage quite because you wana be a dick fine then you should with the consequences

I'm a huntress an play other killers as well also some time I play surv in solo que or with my swf often we are 3 man swf

Just today we lost our first 3 matches because the randy had to dc … first match nurse 3 gens done the randy dc after his first chase an going down because the nurse fake to be a baby i told my mates befor he dc the nurse feels strange she plays like a baby I won't belief her and well was right

Second match against a huntress she was quite good hit her shoots dam well the randy gets in his first chase he last around 10 seconds going down dc …

As I played killer first round I played bubba didn't even started the match really one surv notice oh shit bubba instant dc then I played huntress and the last days I was going against a lot of windows enjoyer so I thought he let's play the op brown addon toxin hit a yui at the start of a match she dc well she played self aware windows and bond so guess why she dc

So dc penalties are good because the person who dc as surv is a selfish idiot and he fucks up his surv mates and killers who dc sorry if you can't handle the bloody pressure go play animal crossing simple as that it is in my opinion dc penalties aren't even long enough for such people because the Rob everyone else of there fun and shouldn't play at all

Btw Aaron keep up the good work I love your channel mate keep on rocking

  22. you know if the DC penalty was different or not there like not having the ability to rage quit or dc but when others have their game crashed they won't be punished that sounds like a win win situation remove dc penalty but also remove the ability to rage quit or leave the match maybe have the dc penalty for only Dc'ing then it would be much better then how it is

  23. Maybe if the game had some way to know if you lost connection due to your internet or a crash or something, compared to physically pressing the DC button because you didn't feel like playing against some killer you don't like?
I mean… from looking through the comments, it seems a lot of people get kicked out for game crashes and/or bad internet frequently and get very long penalties because of this.

But you also shouldn't be able to just duck out because you don't feel like playing against Trickster today. That puts the test of the team at a disadvantage, and if every player does that to the Trickster? They can't play at all.

  24. The DC penalty should only apply for survivor and not killer. When a survivor dcs it drastically hurts the chances of survival of their teammates and basically ruins the game for everyone else. When a killer dcs the game ends and everyone can go on into the next one.

  25. Honestly, I think the solution is very simple. You only get a dc penalty if you click the leave game button. Sure, they can alt f4, but most are passion rage quits and loading the game back up at the very least makes it take longer for people to DC again. I think this is the best middle ground we can get.

  26. I mean… as someone who mains Legion (ikik haha cringe) it was SUPER annoying waiting in the long ass killer queues only to have 2+ DCs just for the killer I'm playing. Like… Shockingly, i'm not a fucking asshole and get that survivors are players too, so I end up losing the game for their sake bc I feel bad for them. EGC ends up with both sides apologizing bc survivors are "I'm sorry they did that" and i'm like "Dude they're your teammates i'm sorry they did that to YOU"

This hate on specific killers isn't actually gonna push me, and quite honestly a lot of other players I know who main killers like Legion, to play other killers… It's just gonna make us stop playing. I main Legion because i'm good at Legion. I don't need to be berated with "baby killer", survivors waiting at exit to tbag and click, and insults in EGC while learning a new killer.
I'm trying to have fun. While learning GF, because he can crouch, even when I can't secure a single kill survivors are usually nicer in the end game bc "GF killers are funny/nice". Imagine if I tried out huntress… yikes

  27. I agree that there should be a DC Penalty, but with or without it people will quit anyway if they want to.

When I first started DBD, there was no DC penalty at the time. When me and 2 friends got into a Pig match, my friends DCed instantly, leaving me, the solo player and the killer to farm as a result. With the recent no DC Penalty, Me and the same 2 friends went into a match with Leatherface. My friends AND the solo DCed and left me with the killer.

But, even with the DC Penalty on, people will give up. A solo survivor tried to drop on hook against Nemesis on Silent Hill and said "I didn't want to be in that match" and got mad I kept saving them. That same person then dropped on hook the next match because "I don't like Legion". A Pinhead DCed after the survivors finished 3 gens before they got a hook. I've had survivors DC against me if I use a Mori. A killer DCed instantly because it was RPD! (pre-changes). A Nancy DCed because she bragged about "Power Struggle value" but the killer never fell for it. The funniest though, is a Claudette who gave up but the Myers refused to hook her and just carried her around as she didn't struggle to keep her in the match longer.

  28. I have never agreed with removing the DC penalty. I see tons of DCs already. Its obvious with the entitlement in this community that it will be used to avoid certain killers far more than it will be used against hackers. The biggest issue is it only takes 1 of the 4 survivors to be upset about the killer for it to ruin the whole game. I wouldn't want to start off with a 3v1 as survivor and for killer its rather boring.

Saying that you bought the game so you should be able to play the way you want is not a valid argument in a multiplayer game. Your actions affect the people you play with. Purchasing the game does not give you the right to cheat or to promote hate speech. You DCing from a game negatively impacts the experience of other players who also purchased the game and have a right to as fair of a game as possible. Also, just like any online game, they can permanently ban your account despite the fact that you paid for it if you do not follow their rules because again – you are not entitled to behave however you want.

I do agree with accidental DCs. There already seems to be a system in place for whether it was accidental or intentional (The blood splatter behind their dc icon means it was intentional). My guess for why they don't utilize this is that its probably very easy to fake an accidental DC but I don't know. Although giving free reign to all accidental DCs is not super great if a person just has a horrible computer or connection and keeps joining games despite dcing constantly.

  29. Personally I think they should make it a 50% less blood points for 5 games and it resets once a day from behaviours end unless you didn’t finish those all 5 games to begin with until that completed your account not getting the 50% blood points loss

Then if they do DC again then then they should add the Dc timer

For hackers I think they should just put them in there own lobby’s vs other hackers then this way they can enjoy playing the game with other hackers😂

  30. Removing the DC penalty shouldn't be a solution for hackers tbh.
And while I agree that if someone bought/downloaded the game, they're entitled to their fun, I think there are some players who need to consider whether or not they even like the game. Like are there things that are annoying, yes. No one has fun getting slugged for four min, for ex. But if annoyances are enough to ruin your fun in a game that you just want to leave asap, go take a break. You're probably burnt out and ruining everyone else's fun because of that is selfish.

  31. I am the one getting penalized for DC that I had no control over. One night my internet was not great and I eneded up with a 5hr penalty and I was lost at what to do when I needed to stay up all night so I could work the following night lol so for me it was nice not to have a penalty for it

  32. I'm torn, I understand cheaters however i've been in a match with someone who's profile literally stated: if you open a chest I will DC (they had 2 chest perks aka useless taken up slots) and they did. They DC'd and then next match I got them again, they DC'd and then a third time. So many times people DC over the simplest of things and it screws over the entire team

  33. I do agree that a DC penalty is needed. However, I believe that the time penalty might not be the best. It might be interesting to explore some other types of penalties such as losing Blood Points or Iridescent Shards or even Items.

  34. Okay so I see both sides of it. I see the survivor side. Legion. Nurse (not sure the full issue there but meh that's me) full hex build. slugging, tunneling. etc….

But i see the killer side too. Toxic Swfs. Being in a game that's no longer fun. Struggling to do anything. (i've faced several killers that had this issue tonight and I feel bad that it was so hard for them. i had several hard ones last night) I also understand the hacking. I've never been around a hacker myself (unless they're really subtle. i play on console. harder to hack there but no impossible)

So do I think the penalty should be removed? Hell no! Despite how much I've DC'd since Mid Chapter update, It should NOT be removed! That penalty has honestly kept me in the game more often. The remaining people only get like 1,000 points (not bp) for being Abandoned.

What I DO think would be a nice idea for Behavior to do, and i'll fuckin say this until they do it or the game dies!!! But I feel like we should be able to go into our settings and choose which killers to not face. There are people that play this game with an actual fear of Clowns. I've played with several that almost couldn't move because of that fear. I personally cannot face against a Plague without always cleansing because the vomiting sounds bring me close to vomiting myself irl. The Clown's potions trigger my literal brain condition and almost make me pass out. (this makes me glad I didn't do the orange glyph because it was reworked and fixed…..)

I honestly think a checklist of killers that you can tick off who to not face would solve that problem. Solve the problem of calling for certain killers to be nerfed so much. DCing because of the killer and so on. There should also be an option for killers to be able to check off swfs. So if you have don't wanna face against swfs, check off you don't want parties of 2+ to play against. You'll find all Solo Queue players. Say you don't mind swfs but don't want big ones. Check off pairs only.

I dunno this is just an idea I feel would work, just like the boon rework i've suggested but not like behavior listens to our ideas….. (sorry for the massive comment but it's the only way i could think of explaining this)
