THIS Is NOT GOOD For Dead By Daylight….

Behaviour is using predatory tactics in order to increase their revenue. Let’s talk about it.

The New Cosmetics Collection is time limited and will not be available for purchase until the next year. Behaviour decided to add old cosmetics that have been years in the store to this mechanic, which only promotes FOMO and is a very predatory thing that only hurts the costumers with the benefit of them getting more money. They have never done or had the need to do this, so are they low on money now? Or are they trying to set a precedent and prepare the terrain for people to accept this?

  1. Or are they trying to set a precedent and prepare the terrain for people to accept this in order to keep introducing more predatory things? What is next, the DBD Mobile GACHA system?

The worst part is that there isn't enough outrage for how big this actually is. Why put old cosmetics into the vault? So they can "resell" them later and give an illusion that there is more content than what they actually develop? Don't defend a multi million company with huge licenses under it's belt, because this is definetly not it. There is NO REASON to promise people more ease of access to cosmetics and later revert all of this by introducing a magic clause that allows them to time gate ANY COSMETIC THEY DESIRE for whatever reason. This is setting a poor precedent with the only intention to cash in on people that don't want to wait for an entire year in order to get their cool christmas sweaters (Which in this game, people use at any month)

  2. I don’t mind the limited event cosmetics BUT AT LEAST MAKE THEM buyable with irri shards, always 10 $ a skin. I paid only one skin and I think ITS WAY too expansive for a cosmetic + dlc where we need some perks to have a good game. I really hope they will start to understand that their game is already expensive and it’s not a Free to play game. I dont want to pay more than 100 bucks for this game. It’s not normal. And yes even that I see A LOT OF PEOPLE with the last cosmetics so its a lot of people who spend 10 $ for a skin. Bhvr know this. They know that it works

  3. Personally I just don't buy cosmetics the game is lucky enough that I buy the killers/survivors in the first place fuck them if they think imma go out of my way to get stupid skins that don't provide me with any type of actual use

  4. If they've gone ped with FOMO 🤮 Then they should shrink the prices by at least half to counter this. As well as going F2P (excluding DLCs) because the cosmetics are just descustingly expensive.

  5. Cashing is one thing but why most of those skins are ugly as fuck. This game was visually updated in many ways but many skins are still shit smeared on a model of character. To be honest most of this skins that appeared recently are awful in details. Pay for them or not, were are any kind of new visual standards. It does not matter how good quality graphics I set, most of them look like a shit stain.

  6. To be fair DBD's rift is a great deal. Lots of freebies and if you buy it you get all your auric cells back for completing it and then can use those to buy the next rift. The time limited cosmetics though is stupid though, I agree.

  7. In my opinion I wouldn't mind a few limited time cosmetics as long as the prices were a little lower. 10 or 15 dollars for a limited time skin that's just a set of pajamas? Not cool.
Especially if the cosmetics were for special events like how the Dredge got a cool skin for completing community challenges during the 6th anniversary.
But taking some of the best cosmetics that already existed for years and limiting them to a single season is downright dirty. Especially if they have no bearing on summer or winter such as the Twins cosmetic.
I know the DLCs and rift passes help keep the company active and able to pay their workers, and make frequent updates, but there's gotta be a better way to make money than limiting when you can actually buy stuff. Will people actually buy these cosmetics anymore?

  8. So Behaviour is a scumbag company like any other dev company on the market who only care about money and nothing else proof being the poor state of the game which they don't give enough of a shit about to fix instead they make paid DLCs because MONEH.
Seriously why are we even surprised a this point? they ONLY make paid content anymore nothing free at all and they never "waste" time and resources to fix it, idk man i'm just amazed the community JUST started to figure this out XD
The problem imo is the fact that the game is literally a paid game which i like cuz free games are full of cheaters BUT this game has the free to play monetization in the sense that literally nothing in the game is free instead everything is paid for with real money(yes i know how shards work),this disgusts me to no end when it comes to any game on the market, they make a game that is PAID FOR then lock 90% of the content BEHIND PAYWALLS, at the very least these greedy companies could have the decency and honor to either make the game free and have this predatory monetization OR make the game paid, have some paid for content but instead alot of free updates and content since ppl do pay for the game. But nah greed breeds scumbags and scumbags breed this kind of games,it is what it is.

  9. I guess since I don’t buy many cosmetics it doesn’t bother me as much, but I can agree with a lot of points you made too. Two things bother me more, them seemingly going back on their word that all unlicensed cosmetics would eventually get iri shard options and the fact that this is happening in a non-free to play game.

  10. Identity V has TIME-LIMITED. WILL NEVER RERUN EVER AGAIN. GACHA. SKINS. I am well familiar with the predatory aspects of this practice COMPLETELY and if behavior inherits these aspects fully i will personally never buy anything dead by daylight related ever again.

  11. Thank you for making a vid on this… ive always hated microtransactions, seeing the rise of this from since i was a kid, going from playing Counterstrike source to mobile game, apex, etc, Ive always known how predatory loot boxes and cosmetics are.

Its at the point now companies understand they cant just slap on in game advantages on these cosmetics because there will be too much complaints so now they just use the "FOMO" technique. Its straight up manipulation, i understand when the "gambling" aspect is taken away from these buyable options it becomes less predatory, but when you already have a large amount of people that have paid for the game, put hours of blood sweat and tears into it, and actively comment on forums to help the game progress… when they lock these cosmetics behind Auric cells its kinda vile.

In my opinion, BHVR shouldnt have even started doing microtransactions until atleast the 10 second Borrowed time off the hook or the perk update, because this game has always felt like its in this weird purgatory beta state, where certain bugs/exploits dont get addressed until 3 years after the community has complained every week about them… Whilst BHVR throws in a big 10$ candy cane for you too stare at whilst you bug out all game (literally and mentally).

  12. 100% agree if they want to move to a free to play model they need to make the game and all dlc free. The sad part is sales will be what makes the decision. This removal of the older cosmetics is a dangerous precedence

  13. What's more if it starts the community may be brain washed into liking it. I shit you not in RuneScape people will fight you tooth and nail on making sure no time limited thing is ever available again.

It's stupid, it punishes you for having a life outside the game, and it's big waste of dev time

  14. Your point about DBD not being free to play is so important to this discussion!!
Iridescent shards are a long grind even if you play frequently. The fact that unlicensed characters, perks, and random recolor cosmetics with the spare nicer ones are the only things you can buy with them is ridiculous for a game that already costs money. The forced scarcity that companies are starting to utilize is annoying as hell.

  15. The worst part about the Halloween limited time cosmetics was that it was like, the first or second "collection" after they said they were going to start adding shards to non-licensed outfits. Like, what was the point if you're going to abuse FOMO anyway?

  16. Time-gated cosmetics have been in the game for a long time in events and rifts. Some rift unlockables are simply recolors of store cosmetics, some are unique but end up in the store eventually, and others never appear outside of the events/rifts again.
