  1. I've never played a game before where simply loading into a specific map has me thinking "well I'm probably going to lose this match". They are just so atrociously balanced and what's even worse is they consistently rework them without actually improving them and more often that not just make them even worse. The fact that reworked garden of joy didn't improve main building in anyway and also kept the incredibly disgusting chainable loops at the top of the map is insane.

  2. Another standout location of being unable to hook someone is groaning storehouse. The basement hook spawn makes the map think you can reach the hook in basement behind the building but unless you've already broken the breakable wall it's a complete deadzone with zero chance of reaching a hook. This is VERY COMMON an a lot of maps where the hook spawns count basement as an "evenly spread out hook" and you are left hanging high and dry above. basement SHOULD NOT be apart of random map generation hook spreads as it leads to these deadzones far too often.

  3. How do you feel about them attacking 3 gens to prevent "hostage" games but survivors every other game when losing 2+ gens left and only 2 stacksy left they hide for 30-40 minutes and touch no gens… It's every other game…

  4. We need more people talking about how bad the the maps are especially recently go and look at the last 8 maps at least 6 can be considered bad (7 because Borgo launched very survivor sided) and I haven’t played the new map but it seems to just be Hawkins pt2 which is not a good thing for both sides.

  5. maps need redesigned in general, tbh id rather have them make maps more static and less randomless to layouts, which would help with the comp scene as well that bhvr oh so wants to achieve, but it would get quite boring at times,
tho also imo another issue with maps is they want smaller maps which also cause alot of issues in its own stance
like for instance the 3 gen issue, it became a much bigger issue once maps got smaller pushing gens even closer together,
tbh id kinda be ok with them making bigger maps again but then have gens on those maps maybe take a bit longer do complete, but i dont think bhvr has it in them to actually make systems like that, afterall they are an incompetent company,
    (shrugs)
however also another thing is just killer design in general, more and more killers are getting strong m2s with mobility range, and then some killers are even having teleports, sometimes making it hard for even survivors to get pressure,
one map ill just dc or afk on is the new RPD if the 3 gen spawns near library and 2 lobby because most killers just defend those 3 gens

  6. Bad Ham main is terrible for both survivor and killer. (killer main)
If I get 2 survivors in the main building and they are injured I can and have held them there when the match gets out of hand from me. obviously some killers are better at holding it than others but with it having only 2 exits that share 1 hallway to get to there is no way for them to get away from a trapper, hag, nemi, skull, wraith… with coordination you could get 1 out but more often than not I end up with a 2-3k because of altruism. that building needs work but unfortunately it came in from a fully dead license so I doubt we will ever get substantial changes to it other than maybe getting rid of the breakable walls which would just make the map even more pro survivors (not a bad thing just a fact)

  7. There definitely should be maps that harder for one specific side but not hard to the point where it makes the game a terrible experience for that side but in my opinion they should do something about map offerings in general so people can stop abusing the same maps over and over again when i play survivor i hate seeing garden of joy and eyrie of crows constantly

  8. The meta used to be looping; It changed to chaining tiles together because bhvr released a bunch of killers whose counter-play is to pre-drop and just hold W to the next one. Removing the number of tiles in favor of making single tiles stronger doesn't remove the hold W meta, it just makes it more miserable on the survivor side anytime the killer isn't a basic M1.

I'm not sure how they could even fix it at this point.

  9. Honestly the devs should add god loops again 😂, but seriously maps are what hold back dbd’s balance even a map like dead dawg its a really good map but the problem is just the gen spread and main building all the gens are literally next to each other, but as a whole maps need to be touched that are needed.

  10. If i were to pick just one aspect of this entire topic of maps, I think I would focus on pallets. I would be okay with a pallet leading into a window, because once that pallet is gone, it's just a window. But a pallet leading to a window to another window and another pallet.. it not only takes longer to get a down (or you just straight have to leave because of time wasted either by being tilted or trying to force a stubborn survivor to drop at least one pallet), but it naturally takes longer to clear out the pallets. Even on the brand new map, I saw iterations that had one long wall with 2 pallets side by side in them.. like why? When I play survivor (very rarely do) I want to try things like hiding in a corner or a nook I find and hoping the killer doesn't find me there. Hell I would rather loop around trees because it's funny and still wastes a little time. We use to have to make at least two escape plans so we gave ourselves options to run depending on what angle the killer came from. Now none of that seems to matter.

  11. i know this video is about the maps themselves but id like to talk about map offerings because i dont like them how they are… i think they should either be removed or use it in the opposite way where if you put a borgo offering then you wont go to borgo… i like the random aspect to maps so i like fate deciding instead of another player

  12. And if they fix maps they can actually look at changing bloodlust which survivors cry about. Bloodlust can be changed to not be a band aid fix for infinites and low tier killers.

  13. I don't work for bhvr, but if I did I'd put their data obsession to work. Adaptive resource density- keep track of the length of chases that use more than 1 structure/loop. If chase times, across the board, are much higher than the intended average then start removing pallets from the high heat structures in future matches until balance is achieved. Similarly you'd do the opposite in cases where down times are lower than the ideal.

What would be better is increasing the space instead of playing with pallet spawns, but I'm not certain that'd be possible with the way they're designed rn.

  14. Some of the maps are just straigth up unplayable as an m1 killer. When I see badham, garden, swamp, gideon or eyries I just wanna puke.

No mindgames, just pure safety everywhere. If you play in a swf and lose against a lower tier killer on a map like Badham or Gideon you are just objectively bad.

I hope the devs change those maps one day, but I seriously doubt it…

  15. The music lmao. I play survivor more but I have to agree. I have over 200 garden, eyries or haddonfield offerings on Kate and sending the killer to those maps while running Lithe, Resi, Windows and Otr would be easy mode. A challenging match is much more interesting.
Also as a Deathslinger Main when I play killer the sizes of maps and chained god loops is just too sad.

  16. Top 3 maps that bother me most are Haddonfield, Badham, and Ironworks of Misery (if I'm remembering the right one).

Badham main building has 6 pallets and 2 vault locations at main building with no hooks within range most of the time if you down someone downstairs and basement isn't down there. It also "house of pain" i believe its called with the 2 god pallets downstairs as well as the window vaults upstairs. Plus, it still has shack. I never enjoy this map for any reason. It offers nothing enjoyable for me as killer.

Haddenfield just has endless safe buildings it can use with windows that are able to be vaulted over and over almost garuanteed until it finally gets blocked 2 minutes later to which they have many others. The only good news about this map is the pallets are few and weak but theyre not needed when the windows are unlimited.

Ironworks of Misery just has a really atrocious main building where you chase them upstairs and it costs you so much more time and you have the same situation as Dead Dawg Soloon where if you chase you lose everything else and if you dont they get the free gen. In fact on maps with gens like these i always recommend survivors save them for last as they are much safer and as killer i generally completly ignore it unless theyre all there. The map is perfectly fine otherwise.

Corn maps are pretty shitty for certain killers too but I've kinda gotten used to them compared to these other 3. I think the worst map for survivors despite some advantages might be midwitch theres just nowhere to run and it makes most killers much stronger from Hillbilly, Bubba, Doctor, Huntress, Xeno, Trapper, Wraith, Nurse, Blight, ECT.

  17. Ya know, Chris, there's a specific reason I like your content. It's the fact that, if something needs to be changed or is wrong in DBD, you call it out, without worrying if survivor mains or killer mains will get upset. So many content creators in the dbd community seem like they're just trying to sound as "fair" as possible, as to not piss off people and lose viewers. They come across so disingenuous. I mean, how many dbd content creators do we need out here saying the exact same shit? Whether it's perks, maps, survivors, killers, etc. It's like the take what Otz says, and regurgitate it with their own spin on it. But, at the end of the day, it's effectively the same thing. I never get that vibe from your videos. You seem like you genuinely give a damn about the game, and you'll call out bs, even if it means a survivor or killer main will get mad about it. Don't change, bro. Keep up the good shit! 👍👍👍

  18. Like I said in your stream a few days ago. Map offerings should also be removed because they are abused by both sides. let the game be RNG. You are right about everything you said and I totally agree. You load into some maps and instantly think "well I have lost this match". And i know I am not the only one who thinks like that. Great video Chris ❤
