  1. Subtext!? In my lore!? Impossible!! I'm a Dredge main XD

I have come to accept Hux is a bit of a mess. I have zero idea why he thinks an organic body is going to help him in any way. If they can somehow fix that up in the Tome, I'll be a happy camper, but I think it'll probably delve into his emotions upon creation instead. Which will be pretty fun, but still leave me confused as to why he wants to BE a meatball

  2. I love Renato, he gave me so many autism vibes when he first released and I resonated with him heavily, he is my favourite survivor and my main, second is steve

  3. I'm surprised consdierng how bad bhvr has been with claudette and twins (Yeah say what you want about the quality of the lore itself, but as a disabled person i see so much of twins dripping with ablesist stereotypes) that they made a actual good disabled representation. Good on you bhvr

  4. So refreshing to see autism portrayed in a sincere and relatable way. As a brazlian autistic with brown long hair, I feel like I HAVE to main Renato lol. The unrelatabilitty of "No man is an island" is such a deep conection with my experience growing in a country where you are EXPECTED to be outgoing. I hope Renato conects to other neurodivergent folk on the trials like I had the luck to have in my life

  5. I love the little autism man he's so real.

At the same time, his shirtless skin has a bag on it, and I can't imagine how much that would set off my own sensory issues. Oof.

  6. I got the same vibe from Renato on launch, it's just that I felt they did him really dirty by having him be the stereotypical analytical, awkward and "wait, other people have feelings that matter?" low empathy (done poorly) kind of autie. I do believe that my bias against Tools of Torment as a whole could have impacted how I viewed him, but his little stims in the lobby had me pretty excited going into it at first.

Seeing the tome I was very worried we'd get the same thing again, but I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. I also appreciate that, unlike Claudette's tome, they actually made it about HIM. Not about how Thalita has to work through being his sister, or how his parents have to find some way to manage him, just about HIM.

I actually ended up relating a lot more than I thought I would with him.

  7. I’m hoping this doesn’t sound rude or come off as rude, but I am really curious and genuinely just want some insight on this. Is anyone who is socially awkward automatically autistic? And same goes for someone who is perfectly fine socially in a small group, but once a few more people come and join that group, they become uncomfortable, does that make them autistic too? Or is it just some people are socially awkward? Like is it “all people with autism are socially awkward, but not all socially awkward people have autism” Or is it,”all socially awkward people have autism, but not all people with autism are socially awkward”?

  8. I think the reason why his rep works so well is cuz it’s not explicitly stated, so when people with autism (like me) saw all his characteristics and how he behaved, he felt very relatable, more so than the others, which is why I appreciate him so much

  9. To me he seems cocky and full of himself just the way he stands and looks and a lot of sweaty toxic ppl seem to play him. If he's autistic though makes me like him more.

  10. As a Renato main, I am so happy for this video and him getting some well deserved recognition! I barely meet fellow Renatos when I play, which is such a shame ;(

  11. Glad it's just a theory as I'm a layed back person who relates to Renato without meeting any autistic people who act like that(I do have a autistic step brother)

  12. It makes me so happy to hear you felt deeply connected to this tome and loved it as much as you did! David’s tome was one of my favorites due to how much I felt connected to it being gay. The way they described his feelings felt so real and something I’ve felt. I’m loving that they are really reaching and making people feel connected to these stories now. Amazing video as always! ❤️

  13. I’m currently being evaluated for ASD. I absolutely feel what Renato is going through (I even volunteered at a retirement home for a few years, haha!) and I’ve absolutely understood that feeling of wanting to be left alone in my own little world, and constantly being dragged out of it. Having such a hard time connecting with others despite being right there with them. I’m not seeing enough people (hardly any!) talk about Renato having autism and I’m so so so glad you did. Thank you.

  14. Thank you Pixel, this actually makes me like Tools of Torment. Despite Skull Merchant's gameplay and design the survivors are actually have really good lore and lobby music.

  15. The video is really good and we can feel your engagement with this theme. It’s nice to see you in your element like that.

Slight Question: Why Jonah is your worst enemy? Did I miss something?

  16. Fellow 'tism haver, never read either of their tomes but Renato's base lore really spoke to a younger me. Looking back at it now that I'm older, there were so many things that didn't make sense to me like they did others, and vice verse. Really appreciate Renato's writers for giving myself and people like us something to relate too so nicely. Great video by the way. 🙂

  17. unrelated, i really want a chapter that takes place in 1950s suburbia. in an alternate time line where radiation research or maybe a nuclear war lead to a crazy mutant type creature that’s mechanic deals with radiation
