  1. Kaiser, please do what makes you happy. Now might be a good time to experiment a little bit. You mentioned playing Jak and Daxter on stream, a childhood game of yours, and that is awesome! Maybe you could play some more games from your childhood, give us a bit of a taste of where you came from as a gamer. Then maybe later on, you can try DbD again. At the end of the day Kaiser, I just hope that you feel better and that you can have fun again. Take care of yourself. 🤟

  2. I never started sweating as killer so I never started having to sweat. If you don't want to sweat, don't. Just start giving 80% and eat losses until your MMR is such that you get matches levels against you giving 80%

  3. Hey man, I really sympathize with your situation, and tbh if you aren't able to have fun with the game then there is nothing wrong with taking a break. From what it sounds like you might want to find a non-pvp game to play because the issues that you are having with dbd, apex, etc. are something that I feel like is more issues with competitive games rather than the games themselves.

  4. Stick to one more mechanical killer, they’re more rewarding, they tend to be better and you’ll have something to improve at. Examples: nurse, blight, spirit, wesker, artist, oni, Chucky. Just grind on one of them until you feel like you’ve mastered them.

  5. When I first play dbd I thought it was the coolest thing I ever seen. Seeing all these killers and survivors I knew was cool. I really got into it thanks to my bf and his friends. We play a lot together but playing with them at times felt like solo que, could never find them for heals and never find them on gens. No coms even tho we are in a discord call and honestly don't care what people say about that, I'm a causal gamer. I bought mikaela for coh before nerf and I thought finally I can heal myself without getting crap about me running self care but then it got nerf. I realize that stuff can change, so even tho I spend a few dollars for something I wanted it'll just change on me. I play mostly singler player games so when I buy a single player game I don't expect a it to change for whatever reason. Then after that lots of nerf and buff happens everywhere, it got overwhelming. Even when I stick to it as much as I could there was a skill problem, I don't want to pour hours into a game when something can change and it'll make you feel like crap at times.

  6. Yeah, I've been playing since the Saw Chapter (Big saw fan, main pig because of that fact alone), and there were times where even I had to say "Screw this" for a minute. I purposefully skipped one of the anniversary events for it, cause I was sick and tired of eating Dead Hards every match, even if I would win in the end. The problem is that, and this really shouldn't be debatable at this point, when you get into High MMR, and you will eventually, and face actually good players, it is obvious that unless you play the best killers, survs have a mechanical advantage, either with gen times, or how easy it is to loop a pallet (especially when Made For This and Dead Hard can allow survs to greed with minimum risk). The other issue with killer is that you are ALWAYS alone, and so while survs can have a bad match, and still have fun because they are playing with their friends, being the AI for the side that is always solo and losing only makes you feel bad.

I do want to leave a cautionary tale of Monto, AKA "The Hatch King". He was one of the better DbD players for both sides, but one day he just got burnt out. He didn't upload in a long time, and then he came back… only to do three videos and never upload again. If it's ONLY the current state of the game that is the problem for you, then I would suggest you play something else until the game state is more appealing to you (Like aver the MFT nerf). If it's the game itself that's the issue, then play something else, even if it doesn't give enough vies. At some point you'll have to decide if DbD is a hobby or a job, and if it's a job you hate, then maybe you should find a new job, even if you're not as successful at it.

  7. NGL I wish when people get downed at the Exits (like when they walk out) I hate it when those cocky players T-bagged or just wait there to get smacked because they got out anyway. I really wish they were actually stuck so they couldn't leave.

That stuff is so dumb I genuinely hate that it's a function.

  8. I feel the same i have to put in 200% to a least have a chance to win
I Wana play dbd but im just exhausted after like 3 games of none stop sweating and still only getting like 1 to 2 kills with strong perks and addons and killers
I think this is because of sbmm because I mainly play xeno and I've had a blast in the ptb and 4k almost every game then went live also 4k every match but then after a few weeks i just couldn't anymore I still played xeno my build was the same but just couldn't 4k anymore the only thing i can think of is sbmm optimizing my opponent s till they got undefeateble and our skill level the same
problem is if our skill is the same i can't 4k anymore only 1 or 2 k
Also i find sbmm bs bc I don't even have 1k ours in dbd yet im regularly matched againts survs with like 7k ours WTF how is going against people at least like 3 times my play count fair sbmm working nicely to give me bs opponents and optimize fun out of the game
I need an f-ing casual game mode bc i can't play anymore I need sbmm vaporized
If this wasn't even a problem the game is still pretty stale i hate gens and hooks we need more game modes i could kill for a Co op killer game mode like a 2 killes 8 survivor 14 gen double map size 4 exit game mod
Im a killer maine and i don't really like playing survivor so im pretty sick of being only able to play survivor whenever i want to play with a friend killer maines have friends too you know

  9. No doubt you’re underperforming in games due to burnout and you’re going to keep beating yourself up about it which will just make you perform even worse than before. You owe it to yourself to take that break to break yourself out of that negativity spiral. You’ll do significantly better once you return and your content will reflect that restored enthusiasm.
Experimenting being met with failure is inevitable, but it’s probably best to keep experimenting to see if you can make something big happen until you end up returning to the safe, comfortable content that consistently gets solid numbers.
    Take care, Kaiser.

  10. same here. I have chill killer games, when I focus on tome quests or daily rituals, but if I want JUST to play killer…. I can't force myself to it. I fear that every game gonna be miserable, I fear that I would do stupid plays and be angry at myself, I fear that I will lose/ 2 kills don't give me enough satisfaction, and 3 kills I take like "finaly a players of my level". And more so, I tend to blame myself for games I'm not satisfied with. Every 2 kills for me is " you could play better" and every 3 kills I don't count on my performance and skill, I either think that survivors are new or I simply got lucky.

And what paradoxical is that survivor games is not as frustrating and i willingly play survivor nowadays. I guess because dying against one person and loosing against 4 persons is a big difference… Idk why, but even if I got tunneled at 5 gens, I still wont be mad. I simply go next…. But going next with killer feels like some sort of self torture

  11. Obviously, we all eventually feel the weight of burnout. Dbd players have beem running around the same pieces of wood for going on 8 years now and most feel it at some point due to 2 major factors.
The first is dbds laxk of alternative modes, or even playstyles, most games are very samey on both sides after youve done a few hundred games or so.
The 2nd is how competitive dbds playerbase is. I always say that "there is no off switch" for people who play this game, you cant just fuck around or else you lose, very quickly at that.
Whilr there is no true cure for either of these, the best advice I can give is to keep making content around dbd without playing it, or if not that, focus on improving your skills or builds on a particualr killer or set of them, find out all the little nuances to them and try to put them in practice. This is easier said than done for me, since i have fewer hours than you and play some pretty mechanically intesnive killers like singularity, but like i said, this is just in dbds nature, until the devs rework the whole damn game which is never going to happen.

  12. You really just need to possibly put a lesser focus on DBD content and branch out to other interest or just play less in general. This type of burnout happens a lot especially with how much time you’ve played in such a short amount of time, you have almost the same amount of hours I do and I’ve been playing since 2018.

  13. I understand your frustration, in fact I’ve been feeling it myself for a while now and I think I’ll be taking a break after next rank reset but while I’m away I want to play it but when I play it I don’t get that much enjoyment out of it. Now idk what to tell you about your content issue and I’m sorry but I’m here for your dbd content and I’m not that much of a fan of shooter games so I doubt I’ll watch much else but I doubt too many of us would mind if took a break for your own sake because sometimes we need that. Wish you well Kaiser

  14. This reminds me of how winning in essence “punishes” you for completing the end objective of escaping or 4king because you’ll get thrown into significantly harder lobbies if you “win,” which is always begrudgingly annoying since MMR is inconsistent whiplash.

  15. as a killer main the constant cycle of, play fun (weak) killers – get stomped by a sweaty squad, switch to strong killers – stomp a team who dont seem to know where gens are, switch back, rinse repeat is getting really boring

  16. I love how F13 made it fun to solo queue since you could talk with Jason and the other people and you could play just for hours with so many new people to meet
Maybe that would fix solo queue being so boring

  17. Honestly it's what so many dbd players feel about this game and well really I wish I could tell you an answer but I really can't. People take these matches so seriously forcing everyone to do so and it means burnout so I guess honestly if you want to try something for a bit then go for it cause there is no point in being this upset over a game that you feel you must play.

  18. If theres anything I can say is just take a break. Atleast stop playing until Chucky comes out. I understand the feeling you have towards the game, especially with the killer stuff because I do mainly play killer, except now I do actually have a friend to play with so I play survivor with him, but without him I would never play survivor except for challenges because solo queue is just dogshit. When I play killer, it seems like I am forced to run atleast 2 strong slowdown perks and tryhard otherwise I will lose because the majority of people I go against are all good at looping and are constantly on a gen if not in chase. It doesn't matter how good you are at killer if survivors can just camp weak pallets, which many are impossible to mindgame, especially the RPD ones, and loop any other regular pallets and guarentee a stun if you don't respect and run forward if you do. Survivor is much stronger than killer, the only reason killer can win is because of survivor error, and the way balance happens between it is that 4 survivors have a higher chance of making a mistake than 1 killer, but if all the survivors are really good theres not enough mistakes to win as killer.
Sorry for the essay, I am a very descriptive person and like to make things completely clear and give reason as to why things like this are happening. I do want to say this though, take a break. I don't watch the other content you make because I really am here for DBD, but the reason DBD content is the only thing thriving on your channel is because you made DBD your community. Diversify your content, find a few other games and make videos on those. You can have the same upload schedule as you currently do, but instead make one day DBD, and the rest other games you like. You could do a gameplay of Son's of the Forest, I won't watch cause I am still waiting for a sale and I want no spoilers but I am sure its a great game. Just do something other than DBD, I am no stranger to quitting this game for my mental health, and I have never regretted it a single time.

Edit: I forgot to mention yeah hawkins is fuckin shit and also it shows up in 50% of my killer matches and in like 5% of my survivor matches like wtf

  19. Take breaks from DBD and come back when new chapters drop, when a new event starts, or a cool skin for one of your mains releases in the shop. It's what I do since dbd gets stale without new content very fast

  20. If you’re not getting any enjoyment from playing DBD, then perhaps take a break for a while. I know I get burnout from playing one game none stop. Sometimes I can go back to it after a few weeks. But then with other games it’s been indefinite. But when I’ve tried to force myself.to carry on with a game, it’s been a drain on my mental health.

If you’re unsure of which way to go, then there’s always reaction and commentary videos. I very much enjoy your Rate My DBD videos. Other DBD options would be lore deep dives, tome reviews, or creating your own DBD stories.

  21. I dont care too much about winning. But not having the time to get decent chases is what makes me feel frustrated. If i just want to get demo shreds and if i can only get about 8 in before all gens are done. Than thats a bit sad to me.. so i need to play the macro to have the time to play with my power

  22. things are absolutely difficult now and i know that. you’ve managed to accumulate a really wonderful community so far, along with loyal viewers. I’ve watched every single one of your videos the moment it’s uploaded. i cant speak for anyone else, but i am more then willing to wait for you

  23. As killer it feels like you have to bet your mom's life to win. As solo survivor it feels miserable to play cuz of the gens and sometimes "bad" teammates and sometimes also annoying killers. As a swf it feels likely too easy and eventually it starts getting boring to play with friends.

  24. being forced to take a 3 month break was the best thing that happened to me that made me appreciate this game. dont force urself to play if u dont want to.
if u reach that point where u dont wanna play but wanna keep the channel going here are some content ideas.
    – u could talk more in depth about the problems killers face. you could "interview" other killer players. like the interview u did w #1 legion that was great
    – custom games with friends is so fun watch. 10/10
    – for survivor, dont solo q… it's not worth it
    – u could do customs with viewers and do funny challenges like protect the king, last one standing, idk things like this
    – u could also bring a killer streamer to kill ur viewers once in a while. this is always fun to watch.
    – story/lore dbd – you could narrate stories and use ur writing to make videos about characters you love like jef.
    – u could start coaching new survivors and killers. that way you dont play but u have more free content

  25. You can completely ignore this suggestion because this is my person special interest game but if you're looking for something challenging and fun while you take a break from dead by daylight give Don't Starve Together a shot. It's not a competitive game but it still has a lot to value and I think you may enjoy it. I highly doubt the dbd fans would follow you over to dst due to how different of a game it is but I would watch whatever you wanna make cuz I'm here for you not your dbd takes.

  26. I think most ppl suffer this. I started as a survivor main and that’s what got me to start playing killer more. I’ve taken breaks before. I’ve had friends quit for months at a time. I’ve been playing it for a few years now and there’s def peaks and valleys.

Id like to point out, though, that you can make DBD content that isn’t just playing the game. Cover the lore. Cover the items or perks. Survivors used to have difficulty listed on them- Laurie for instance was hard bc she’s loud af, so you could do which survivors are loudest/hardest nowadays. You have options to cover different topics without being confined to DBD, if you’re so inclined.

  27. Here's one of the biggest problems, that lead to playing killer just not being fun: Perks & addons that speed up the main objective. If you come up against a team that has commodious toolboxes, addons that speed up repair speeds, hyper focus, stakeout, Prove, etc. You're gonna lose 2 gens, at least, even if your first chase is quick. I'd just take away or rework anything that speeds up progress towards the main objective. And, so it doesn't look like I'm just picking on survivors, they could take away the ONLY perk that killers have, to speed up the main objective: Monstrous Shrine 😁🤣. Seriously though, I 100% agree. Playing killer is too stressful these days. You lose 3 gens by the time you find a survivor, hit them once, mind game a loop or pallet, down them, then take them to a hook. It's ridiculous

    Reply
  28. nah its the game. i feel the same way. it's too samey. if i sweat and put max effort i can get a 3-4k almost every game. but like you said it's boring. defend the 3 gen, soft tunnel or tunnel. there's not time to do anything else. i keep going back to this but i feel like the game really changed when they destroyed the gen kick meta. there used to be a couple ways to play the gen slowdown game. chase oriented and gen kick. gen kick was decent for prolonging games long enough to eek out a win. you could hook everyone and not lose the game. now gens go so fast that 1 bad chase and you are stuck because the new slowdown meta revolves around hooks. you can't go back the gen and slow the game down. that plus MMR and SWF….and no balance…forces all killers to play a certain way. losing as a survivor doesn't feel as bad.
