  1. Sabotaging hooks and taking hits is actually not toxic. Sure it's pretty damn frustrating for the killer but there's no other way to make sure your teammates don't get tunneled out of the game, or just to try to get 4escapes

  2. There is no way that this game could ever become competitive.
Saying "I am a competitive Dead by Daylight player" is like saying "Look, I am playing the power role with 4 crutch perks and 3 teammates going against a Pig with a single perk, this is a fair game, the teams are equal"

  3. I don’t want a competitive mode, I want a casual mode. With the current mode using MMR and punishing you for winning by wrecking you in the next game, it already is a mode that is trying to be competitive. I want a place for people to go when “skill based matchmaking” has kicked their ass a few too many times.
At the very least, I’m curious what it would be like to have random matchmaking. Might not be the best implementation but there’s a chance it could work. At least, it’d be more consistent than MMR, and if people want a challenge more often they can go back to MMR mode.

Forgive my shit opinions/ideas, I am not a game designer

  4. The devs will never make this a competitive game. Once it does, there game is done for. Just like evolve. The reasons they don’t listen to the community, is because all the community wants is a competitive scene. But alas, the community doesn’t realize, making the game competitive, kills it.

I enjoy the game the way it is now. If you feel washed fro. Playing dbd all the time, play another game, like no man’s sky. Very relaxing to switch between the 2 games.

If anyone says, well that is terrible to tell your players to play another game, think of this.

Not all games are meant to suck you in, and be played 24/7. For example, the creator of final fantasy 14 online, says all the time, we don’t want players being sucked into our game, feeling obligated to grind all the time. He prefers that people hop in, have fun, and move onto another game, and come back when you feel like it.

Dbd applies the same logic and I don’t mind it at all. I don’t feel like this game is meant for you to grind and suck your soul all day playing the same thing over and over.

  5. I’d enjoy some sort of private match matchmaking like Friday 13th had. Then we could have chill lobbies, where we get a turn to be killer, and you could earn bp just at a slower rate. A competitive mode wouldn’t really be any different than what we have now

  6. aside from sweaty survivors, bad survivors also spread out and smash gens. but the difference is bad survivors also play very stealthy which is also boring. when i finally find one of them and down her/he in 10 secs i spend my next 5 minutes to find another one. my point is i love survivors who try to anoy me or trying to have fun with flashlight saves, sabos etc.

  7. The thing I notice is that people are suggestion other modes besides what you discussed in the video Scott. But I don't think the game can afford to have anymore modes, because all that's going to do is divide the playerbase further and make lobby/queue times much worse than they already are.

The only gamemode I could see working is a "fun" mode. something along the lines of Prop Hunt, that is entirely fun and does not require any sort of competitive nature OR ranking system. Something to chill out with if you're getting tunnelled match after match, perhaps. It'd still divide the playerbase I think, but maybe not so unnecessarily

  8. Competitive mode won't work… this ain't that type of game. I'd take a Hardcore Mode though. No SWF, No Perks, no Add ons, no Hud and no Aura reading outside of 16m… for both sides… and ques up into general population. Those playing in Hardcore Mode would get Triple or even quadruple post game rewards. I would say to make Hardcore Mode a separate que from standard… but I don't like the idea of splitting the player base. Awhile back after one of the patches… my game would bug out and not load the HUD. It did it for several matches that night and it was the most intense nights of playing Survivor in all my time of playing and thought that would be great to have that as a mode…. except, yeah…we should still see the skill checks though… that part was a little rough.

  9. I've always appreciated how Scott isn't afraid to say things as they are because he needs to be a "PG-13 positive influencing content creator as it is". Nah, he just spits the facts as they are "BHVR are terrible at balancing and it would take them years to even implement minor things". God bless

  10. i don’t think it’s fair to say that comp is the most boring way to play, there’s a lot of strategy that goes into it and the top 3 killer chases are actually very fun to watch and play. im fairly certain the majority of people don’t do it for money, it’s just fun going against really good players cuz u reach a point in this game where it’s just unfun going against potatoes all the time. also, comp you get to control the map and the dumb stuff is limited, so it’s more balanced that way. don’t underestimate how fun it can be to have good comms and completely smack comp killers
