This is all I want in the next update: an end to camping. We don’t need lectures on just do gens, etc. Regardless, it is idiotic that you can literally stand still and win a game.
1) grabs off unhooking should be removed. It’s not a skilled play. It’s a brain dead play that shouldn’t be rewarded
2) if a killer is camping within X distance and for Y time, gen speed should increase by 10% every 10 seconds. Walking out of the area after X distance/Y time doesn’t reset the clock, and once you activate it, it doesn’t turn off until survivor is unhooked. There is a 20 sec grace period to kick a gen, enter a chase, etc
3) If you camp someone to phase 2, then any survivor entering the area should be invincible for a hit.
4) if you camp someone to death, all gates open automatically when the last gen is completed, all totems are deactivated and the hatch spawns in 3 areas and can’t be closed
This deactivated after 4 gens are completed
Hard deter to camping. Actually means killers have to chase or lose very quickly.
(The same argument that a claudette shouldn’t be able to reach too MMR by hiding all game and leaving through hatch; neither should a killer that stays by a hook)
Right so I been playin mostly killer cuz yeah that's what I do. Not the best at survivor anyway. So today thought I'd like try it out, see if it's any worse. For soloQ, about how I remember it lmao. As for the killers oh boy. First game got a Wraith who only slugged until death with knock out. Next game was a different wraith who camped cloaked. Kinda put my off of playing that team for a while lmao.
My Survivor experience (at assumedly a lower MMR, think "a bit above average" at 450+ hours) is a bit different than yours I think! I'm still having a lot of fun, but for me the most common builds I'm seeing from Killers are Gen Kick builds (Call of Brine, Eruption, Overcharge, still Pop sometimes even) rather than strictly slow down like Thana. It leads to gens were working on go from 80 to nearly nothing when we get pressured off, which can be a bit demoralizing when you're down to the last 2 or so needed. So for me the gens don't feel like they're being repaired slower (although I know they are due to gen speed nerf), but rather much more noticeably get prevented from being completed due to super fast or occasionally instant regression (stuff like Pain Res very common as well for me).
It's interesting that experiences can be so different across the spectrum of MMRs! I'm also getting INSTANT survivor queues, and I think you mentioned you were having some trouble getting quick survivor games on Twitter or somewhere else? Could be remembering wrong but oh well. Interesting video!
I usually agree w Scott. But I disagree this time.
I understand Scott doesn't want to offend the devs and risk getting a shirt taken away.
That being said.
It doesn't "feel" like gen is taking longer, it is actually taking longer.
Why don't u try a experiment and collect data on how much more time survivors are trying to do gens now, compare to before. I guarantee u, ppl are spending significant more time on gens after the patch.
Saying gen regressing perks being nerfed is irrelevant as other gen regressing perks were buffed. PoP is essentially a base kit now. If u combine that w overcharge, it's OP.
22 second game length time difference from pre patch to post patch is stupid. Becuz u HAVE to do 50 seconds more on gens. How the hell do u get 22 seconds?
50 seconds itself is just a numerical value of the gen speed. If u add all the other regressing perks, slower heal, fast killer speeds, chases being significantly shorter, all of this synergies that 50 sec gen speed making it Essentially more like 2 mins.
Survivors dying much higher rates, killers getting consistent 4k. It is clear, the frustration.
It is even more apparent when I play killer. I am god level killer now. I 4k so much, the game can't even find survivors for me, unless I start deranking on purpose.
Playing killer is no longer sweaty. I just need 2 perks, darkness revealed and overcharge. And survivors will barely complete 2 gens.
Also ruin being nerfed is irrelevant. If u kill 1 person and the ruin is gone, u pretty much won the game already.
The red bar on gens doesn't make me "feel" like the gen is slower either. The red bar has been there even before the patch.
Also, I don't base my arguements on feelings.
Desperate measure countering Thana ?? 🧐
But I get whatnot mean , countering the things what killers bring which is nice
I personally been seeing so many killers kicking gens with overcharge so I started using blast mine which is surprisingly such a great counter lmfao
If my match was somehow kinda bad, seeing the killer eat one of my blast mines makes me grin like a fucking dumbass
my killer to survivor ratio games are like 30/1 and i gotta say killer is something else rn. i have so little perks atm at tier 3 im barely scraping 3 rows of purple perks on some killers so im usually using nurse's, thana, and probably stridor or something good for the particular killer. i only own doc, blight, and spirit for dlc and its rough but its not too bad now. but i really cant do much with builds unless i want to honestly put myself at a disadvantage using like relentless and shattered hope
If the game moves slightly slower, they have more time to earn their uncapped blood points, let’s not forget overzealous and prove the self are still very strong, especially now.
It’s unbelievable Scott lives in his own world.
If Scott was playing the game at a different tier level like some of us, he would be saying the same thing most of everyone is saying.
Just becuz one person didn’t experience camping and tunneling, doesn’t mean the rest of the players doesn’t experience it.
Perhaps Scott should play on my account …..making a conclusion thru the experience of one account at a certain level is completely different from playing at a different tier MMR.
Truth be told I never used perks like Dead Hard, I think the one Meta Perk I used was Spine Chill though then again I never paid any attention to the meta
I miss old Spine Chill, like, the change felt completely unnecessary, also why change Dark Sense?
Best update they’ve released in yearsss, been enjoying both sides so much. Haven’t seen a teammate with self care once yet 😩🥹
Before asking why your streamed games are better ask why North Korea doesn’t let visitors go outside the Disney land resort they created and see actual conditions.
For me, outside of being camped and tunneled, it's been lack of variety, MMR, and killer behavior. Like nearly every single killer I go against has like a 1000+ hour type of play style. But my teammates in solo Q are have had a brand new to the game type mind set. Ive got hooked once and left to go into second state 8 times in a row in one night. Killers seem to have been way more toxic lately as well, hitting people on hook, leaving people to bleed out, nodding at people on hook, it's become so common now. As far as variety, it's like every killer I get is 99.9% of the time have brought at least thanatophobia and Jolt. Very rare to see those perks not in use right now. Really took away the fun from not knowing what kind of killer you may get next.
You just never get tunneled. You are just lucky. Doing a 90 seconds gen is so boring. Make secondary objective and give back pallets or delete bloodlust.
i've been having the most fun after the patch. killer queue times are a lot worse for me now, but every game is a mixed bag of survivors, like before MMR was a thing. Sometimes i go against sweats (which is fun every now and then, but not back to back), sometime i go against survivors that have no idea whats going on (fun, up until every match is like that), and sometimes i go against players who are similar in skill to me. this is great.
I feel like those survivors that are saying "I'm getting tunneled every game" are lying. A bit of a overreaction to try to get some survivor's buff
👌
I found We’ll Make It, Resilience/ Prove Thyself has been the best counter for dealing with the thana and gift of pain combo
Well, killer gameplay is pretty easy right now. So playing as survivor (for me) is so boring that I'm considering stop playing DBD. Chases are so small and the game's changes, in my opinion, are now forcing the type of chase where survivor just drop the pallet and run. And of course, I'm saying these as survivor who plays the game casually and without swf. It looks like they change it thinking all survivors plays swf, are high skill levels and the game is competitive while most of survivors just play the game just for fun. I don't mind of die, but if I only have the chance of escape 1 out of 10 matches I play, then the game isn't attractive anymore
They should just implement mmr already, matchmaking in dbd is fucking ass
You are getting pleasant games because you have a chat to interact with and you give killers more than 30 seconds chase, so most killers right now won’t bother chasing you because they are farming best for last stacks, and because you have chat to focus on you are giving a shit about the Steve and Jake getting the shit tunneled out of them because you were to hard to chase for the killer.
Holy shit you are bad at research and interpretive data.
You need to compare game lengths in which 3-4 people escaped
Game lengths that ended with no escapes
Game lengths of games that ended on 4 gens to go
3 gens to go
Etc
Compare the length of games in which the result was the same. And then compare the the difference in occurrence each of those
Finally, everyone playing survivor is playing new builds….
I have been playing Overcome, bite the bullet, self care, botany knowledge, i have been taking toolboxes with spare parts to counter the Gen slowdowns. I am shredding killers in chases, which has been a bit of a problem because they lose me or give up so I had to switch to crappier builds to try to help killers stay on me. Head on, Quick and quiet actually works ok as stunning them still makes them rage focus you sometimes and you can impact another persons chase more. Survivors are running counters, I see a lot more prove thyself, I am seeing much less boons for some reason. Give people credit, they are trying, but you might find this hard to believe, but a person who plays 6-8 hours a day because it’s their job might not have as hard a time in this patch as players who play for a few hours after work a few days a week lol.
games ARE rough i keep getting survivors who want to be toxic and they are literally doing nothing and everybody is just bunching up and dying
I had all the meta perks for killer. now they all suck and all the perks that got buffed, I don't have
I was excited as survivor for this update because I felt like I don’t have to run BT and other protection perks to feel like It helps the team, but on the other hand… holy shit all my games I get tunneling/camping killers and no gens get done. It has been so painful for me and I never used to use DH or DS. Killers down survivors so much faster now, gens take SO long it’s insane. I’ve played maybe 30 games and I can tell you I’ve only survived maybe 5 of those if that.
I've seen a little bit more camp/tunneling but the worst is the amount of survivors doing NOTHING, no gens at all
Best patch ever, but I don't have time to play the game… ehhh
