Why I'm quitting Dead by Daylight

I run down the many reasons why I’ve distanced myself from DBD, we rant a little, and spit some goofy dbd bars. Thanks for everything, fellas. We had a good run!!

This video is NOT monetized because I guess I say “f*ck” too much

“Shame” lyrics:
One thousand hours to master
Time i wish i spent on xHamster
But I must say I’m grateful today
To be anybody’s fave Singularity main
Biopod demigod, no magic
Odd bulb when i flashlit bastards
I dominate the arcade
vacate the game and leave the fog in flames

I gave them hell on my grind,
Y’all take them Ls and just whine
I beat that Ruin Undying, Overbrine,
I adapt, and attack. Get killed? Thats fine
Losing just part of the game
Deader the better, it’s all in the name
While you’re complaining, I’m counting the gains
Salty ass endgame’s embarrassing, lame.
Shame.

I tried to understand players.
I’d die to climb and inspire.
My posse BM majors.
Y’all comp scene DM minors
No disrespect, I don’t f*ck with you kids
You’re simply unable to handle versus
Doing 5 gens is not the real game
You just wanna win, but you don’t wanna play
Understand ya cant win my loop
You just buying time, I stayed in the loop
I hear interviews about quitters, left and right
I kill til there’s not a single Dwight in sight
Mortals never wanna test their might
Cry til they nerf everybody out of spite
Tiptoe on the balance beam
Til you see me backhanding the balance team

You coddle mentality so devoid
You cannot hear clearly through all the noise
The loudest minority use their voice
These go next gamers, girls and boys,
Your game of choice, u cant stand it
Leave half ya matches abandoned
Ez, tryhard, yall spam it
Re-queue, get clapped, sh*t’s canon
Cry foul at some normal gameplay
Homeboy, oh boy, lemme try to learn u summin
You copping skins every payday
Bloodpoints, some point, forgot that it was all for fun and
Lose sight at why we even do this sh*t
Excuses every time that you get hit
Alt F4 but never take a hint
Maybe sick of it, but too sick to quit

Well I’m not, gave Behaviour all that ive got
Blood sweat tears and bugs that i fought
Got tunneled and slugged and never turn bot
Y’all cry about a stale meta,
Frankweave and they’re like “this aint better”
Watch perks gets nerfed to the dirt
And a little bit o Surge got your feelings hurt?
Echoing chambers they all are the worst
Sick of this discourse of sensitive nerds (and)
Who we gotta merk for a f*ckin twitch shirt?
F*ck a sprint burst, i roll up in a hearse
I put a thousand bad matchups in
and its cool, thats what it take to learn somethin
These Megheads acting entitled to wins
You a fool, thats never had to earn nothin

I’m on crazy pace, finna catch a case with this Wraith mace
And do it all again, gettin in their heads, can’t win my chase
I get mega brain from this cavalcade of bad Sable mains
Gon proc adren, commit the gen, finish in her face

I gave them hell on my grind,
Y’all take them Ls and just whine
I beat that Ruin Undying, Overbrine,
I adapt, and attack. Get killed? Thats fine
Losing just part of the game
Deader the better, it’s all in the name
While you’re complaining, I’m counting the gains
Salty ass endgame’s embarrassing, lame.
Shame.

  1. I haven't been playing much lately either, but you will be missed!

I think I'll come back again someday, but for me it's just too tough to get a good game of DBD. There were too many days I'd set aside time to play Killer and not get a single quality match. Quitters are so rampant, and getting 2 or 3 in a row is just super demotivating. Survivor is also cool, but my friends don't play much anymore and it's just not the same going it Solo.

Wishing you the best in the future! I don't watch much gaming content, but you've got a sub for life and I'll always check in if it's weird enough.

  2. I got back into DBD after a long break this year, but I totally understand all of the things that keep people from playing and/or drift away from the game. I'm a Killer main so the friend part is just a side thing, like only last week for the first time in the YEARS I've been playing this game did I play survivor with some friends, because most of my friends don't play DBD.

Mainly I just want to echo the things you said about the mentality stuff: Hell yeah! Why are people queueing for a PvP game just to get upset that the opposite side did the thing they are supposed to do? I've had that gut feeling when I was newer to the game, but as I've grown not just as a player but a person, you understand that losing is part of any VS game. I also play other genres of pvp games, I love card games and fighting games (tho that's newer and I'm still pretty bad at them), so I know in a 1v1 scenario, losing is probably going to be at least 50% of the outcome of the games, but the actual playing the game is the important part. Also, in card games you have the randomness of the draw, so being forced to accept that sometimes you lose because your draws were bad and/or your opponent had the god draw is just a thing that will happen.

Also yes: map rng is one of the biggest things that influence DBD matches. The disparity in how strong of builds people bring in does matter, but that can be almost negated by playing Billy on an indoor map (or even outdoor maps like Eerie and Toba which have so much clutter everywhere that I just keep bumping into what feels like nothing).

  3. As a long time viewer of yours (relatively?), while yes, it's sad that you will be "departing" from DbD, it's not the end of the world at all. I watch your videos for *you*, Doinko. You're fucking hilarious and so entertaining, watching you is just pure delight, and your editing is like a cherry on top. I don't care what you make – I'm quite literally always here for it.
I'm sure that me and many others will stay here regardless of what content you make.
Those views will go up eventually, one way or another <3

  4. I loved your DBD content and it's how I found your channel, but I have also been loving the variety as of late. I especially love the movie content and I hope you find happiness in whatever you decide to pursue! Hope we see more music from El Doinko in the future 👀
You're awesome and you put so much work into your videos and you've inspired me to work on and improve my own content. Much love 💜

  6. This is the first video I’ve seen of yours and looking at ur thumbnails I think they’re pretty weak. Showing perks in thumbnail is over saturated and a turn off for me, it spoils the build and takes up thumbnail space that could be used to show a better narrative. Imo ofc

  7. Re: quitters – for me the issue has never been that people quit. It's that BHVR has done nothing to properly punish that mentality by forcing them into a "bad sport" queue, so then they still queue with people like you or me who would just sweat through the match regardless, and we have to all be in lobbies with those a-holes. If people wanna quit, fine, whatever. They're entitled and I hate it, but at least put them in their own queue category. lol

  8. Damn this video is so accurate I feel the exact same way but its the only game I can enjoy today its quick to get matches for the most part and its so complex im addicted only 600hrs tho so I'll probably be joining the OG opinion soon enough…. (Song is fire af bro DBD needs this type of real raw reality is more important than a video game type of stuff) 💯🔥

  9. I feel you on the YT randomness, man. All of my own favorite videos I've made have like 20 views. But some of my meh videos have my highest views in the thousands (which is a lot for me).

I feel like it's mostly about a catchy thumbnail, and being a shorter length video. Which is depressing. We're not Otzdarva, we can't upload an unedited 2 hour video and everyone clicks it.

I also agree with your description of trying to fish for a DBD match that actually highlights what you're trying to do for your video. You WASTE more time in DBD than you spend actually playing it, between queue times, bloodweb dumping, wasted games cuz of DC's and quitters… EVEN the time you spend hooking Survivors, I've taken the stats of that, and you spend about 20-25% of your match picking people up and hooking them. That's INSANE!

Yeah dude, I feel you. I've stopped making DBD vids too. I have a backlog of clips, and I have no willpower to upload them.
