  1. The reason why DBD is so toxic is because the game is filled with a bunch of Sore Losers that can't take an L and act like someone committed a War Crime against them. If you can't deal with getting your a*** handed to by a Chucky Player, then do the community a favor and uninstall. Go play something else or get the f*** out of your parent's house and go touch some grass.

  2. I had to start playing with a private profile because people love to see what small thing they can say to attack you with, and for me, just having pronouns in my steam bio led to a lot of homo[hobia and transphobia. Anonymous mode is a blessing, but now people also complain about how "im hiding" from their abuse and toxicity. Like of course, I want to have fun, not get personally attacked

  3. Communities like the DBD community makes me love the FFXIV community immensely. There's toxicity for sure and some dogpiles and witch hunts (I remember the infamous modder witch hunts that occurred after some were caught cheating in Dragon Song Reprise), but most of the community chooses to meme on stuff rather than be malicious. Just look up the billboard controversy that happened back in 2022(?), guaranteed you'll find memes about it

  4. I thought everyone agreed that DOTA had the most toxic community? I see 3 kinds of toxicity: sore losers, trolls, and those who got tired of others being toxic. An example might be something like a killer getting tbagged at the exit gate leads to them bleeding out all 4 survivors in the next game; continuing the cycle.

  5. I agree with what you said but I have witnessed this same thing in many other games. I wont reference old COD or HALO days because well social media wasnt as prevalent and twitch streaming sites were not as common. But man do my kids and myself get salty messages on PS5 over Fortnite and COD as well as DBD. LoL One thing I always recommend people that cannot take salt and super toxic people is to set messaging off and not engage with end game chat in DBD.

I myself find it all funny. I get people making fun of my looks, my online handle, that I like children in a bad manner, to off myself, to the you only do this off stream etc… lol I screen shoot it all and laugh and kill them with kindness in chat. I have a full time job in the Military, with a family of 5, 2 dogs a lizard, a huge yard to take care of and other hobbies to partake in. I let the poor sad people that have to be cringey in chat because they dont like the way someone plays a multiplayer game that we all paid for. ❤️ I will say over the years the amount of people you have helped get banned and highlight their bad behavior has been very entertaining and brings a smile to my face. Keep up the good work and hope to see you in the FOG one day. 😊

  6. Unpopular opinion but its always the survivor that are always the most toxic. Most of my hours on the game are from survivor myself as well but in my short time playing killer ive experienced way more toxicity from the survivor side vs the killer side especially when survivor mains have there fake made up rulebook on how a killer is supposed to play.

  7. I've only been playing less than a month. Honestly, I'm glad you can't hear voice. I've only had one toxic end game chat where the guy said I was the worst Pig ever. I said thanks and I only have 70 hours in the game, but GG. He may have been trying to bait me, but I don't feed trolls. He told me he was playing since 2017 and he was acting like a baby survivor. and he was just kidding. Well, I don't take this game seriously. Mostly I play killer with the occasional survivor. Win or lose, it's just a game and I'm having fun.

  8. IM not saying that the game isn't toxic. But I've been one of the lucky few to have not met a toxic player yet. Well, I lie I met one. But it was so insignificant to my wife. I just forget about it. I'm just wondering if i'm not the only one who's not experienced that much toxicity yet

  9. People are increasingly insecure, entitled, rude, antisocial and lack empathy. Combine that with anonymity and a lack of repercussions, and you have a smelting pot of toxic bullshit

  10. The main thing that I think is funny I s when I’m feeling like actually playing as intended as the killer, I’ll get a survivor group that just wants to play around and get all pissy because I didn’t play the way they wanted me to.

  11. another glaring difference you did not mention, between dbd toxicity and cod/halo etc toxicity. And that is… the origin of the toxic outbursts. I will use examples of pvp games I played that had recurring toxicity, which are valorant, league of legends, and paladins. In all these games, if you look at the toxic behaviour… it's most often coming from frustration. In valorant and paladins it's often frustration from an enemy playing a cheecky way that is slightly unfair, or enemies being more skilled. In league of legends, it's quite literally always directed at teammates. the toxicity is coming from frustration of teammates failing or being inexperienced or simply trolling/giving up.

Now lets look at dbd and… yup… toxicity here is directed from an ego issue. this can come in 2 ways; our favourite word "entitlement", such as survivors yelling because they believe they have the right to escape, or killers yelling because survivors 'deny his right to a kill' by bodyblocks etc. Or it is coming from the ego issue of "I am above you". Now I aint saying these issues don't exist in the other games… but they are clearly FAR more present in this one.

Now there is 1 more game I want to mention… and it's another asymetric pvp game… Left4Dead2. This game is also known to be quite toxic. Andd most of it's complaints come from people being utterly elitists… aka an ego issue…

So I don't know why, but it seems like asymetric games are prone more to ego-based toxicity than any other.

  12. I never experienced toxicity unless either a ghost face just decides to slug my whole team or I actively try to be toxic and either way I don’t let people being a holes get to me

  13. The main reason is due to the devs. To be fair when the game launched it was a new concept and noone really new what was going on, how to play or where the game was going. But the problem was when the player base knew what they wanted and what needed to be changed, the devs took literal YEARS to do simple obvious changes (eg iridescent head).

This created an initial honour code system, where players wouldn't use certain perks, loops, etc because they were aware it was unfun and unfair for the other side. This is where the entitlement starts. You leave this kind of system to the player base what do you think happens when it grows to the size it is now? It gets completely abandoned and rightfully so because we are long past those days. But a lot of people don't recognize this and the ideas of things being "toxic" or over powdered permeate into modern DBD. That's why it gets so personal because using all these "OP PERKS" makes you a bad person morally because you should be respecting the fun of other players.

The devs are much more safisticated with balancing than they were in the past and players need to realise it is no longer eachothers responsibility to do the work for them. And if there is a perk or killer or whatever is unfundmentally unbalanced people need to learn that's a DEV PROBLEM and not a you problem.

  14. I think one of the worst experiences was when this p87 mikaela was so mad i brought sac hand as a survivor because my friend and i were getting tired of being taken to hawkins, (and of course she brought a map offering, but I don't think it was hawkins that time,) and when it was my turn on hook, they would save spam me so that my friend couldn't get me off hook. Like she was so mad at me for hand and boy did I want to give her some hands at the end of the match.

Like you said, it carries on after the match. This was a while back and I still think back to it. I laugh about it now, but truthfully? I think I'm still angry that situation even happened and it shouldn't be that way.

It's also the fact that sometimes we can comment on the people's profiles and when we're angry, we end up letting it fly and going -rep, -rep, -rep, over and over again. It's why I've made this a personal goal to not go -rep on people's profiles anymore. I've tried to adopt a more gg go next policy and leave the anger in the last match behind. If I'm still angry, I go play killer. If I get angry from playing killer, I quit and go do something else and it's helped so much.

I'm just rambling at this point I think, but thank you for the video and have a good day <3

  15. I think it could be the 1v1 nature of DbD. Because even if you're 4 survivors oftentimes when it comes down to it, it's just you vs the killer. I also think there are just so many ways to be a dick in DbD.

  16. Hey Spooks, I've been playing Dead by Daylight since 2018, I didn't know about the gaming toxicity back then, I was just testing the waters and expanding my potato gaming skills. As a Laurie Strode Main I want to say I understand the frustration on both sides, but going beyond the game is just god awful. Only one word comes to mind when it comes to Dead by Daylight Toxicity, and that word is "Dominance" the evil toxic people want to be on top and be right all the time and they cry about it when the game doesn't go their way. Also, here's another couple of questions I want to ask them also, One: Are the Game developers watching you play? Two: Are you going to win $10,000 if you win the game at any cost? If you answer "No" to both questions then you can relax and have fun. 😊😊 Please be nice, kind and respectful to others. Have a fantastic day today and thankyou. 😊😊

  17. I think people treat dead by daylight differently because it really is THAT toxic. As someone who's been a gamer for a long time playing all types of different games, I can honestly say that dead by daylight is one of the most toxic gaming communities, that I've been a part of and it gotten so bad over the years, especially with the private messages and streamers bullying each other

  18. Every competitive game is toxic to some degree. The difference with DBD is some people in the community like on Twitter, Reddit and YouTube LOVE to magnify the toxicity for views and attention.

  19. Why? Because it appeals a bit more to kids who have a very low tolerance for losing.
The horror aspect has been making it's way to appealing to younger and younger people so I'd say that is probably most of it but that's just me.

  20. I played a ton of pvp games (OW2 For Honor COD MK games the list goes on) every game is going to have people talking shit or be toxic over the dumbest things in the games. But the amount of toxicity I see from DBD is astronomically insane. Like it goes like this, If you're a killer you cant do killer things and make the survivors lives easier so they can get free wins, BUT in doing so you get called all kinds of shit, at times really racist insults or shaming them on a personal level as you mentioned. But if the killer does killer things, making their lives hard in the game to secure a win, the survivors will say all QUIT TUNNELING or CAMPING etc. At this point I just point out their flaws and it just off sets them hard. Now its not just for the killers as well, Survivors will get insulted by Killers at times and say QUIT USING META BUILDS or certain perks etc. This game is literally one game I refuse to play on stream due to the fact that someone will get upset if I play a certain way, build a certain way, and win a certain way. And its the only game where both sides never win at anything regardless which side wins or loses, someone has to be toxic whiny little sub humans that cant handle how one plays, wins, or when they do win, talk shit to the one that lost or ones that lost and rub it in by acting like a 2 iq individual.

If we do compare it to say For Honor, yeah you gonna have people on there talking shit saying quit light spamming or you using a busted hero or using a no skill hero etc, but in reality they got bodied hard, skill gapped in the game because that game requires actual skill to pull off a lot, and I mean a loooooooot, of feints, combos, mix ups, and movement to secure a victory against the opponent. You can have someone on there thats a number 1 orochi go up against a casual player, usually that orochi player is going to win but if the casual player knows how to play the game and doesnt sweat about anything and have a cooler head, that player is going to beat the orochi player. Its also about mind games pretty much so if one has a better mindset than the other, they will win. Usually though the best player is going to dominate due to skill and most of the time the top players arent toxic dick bags. But then we go back on DBD, it doesnt matter how good you are at the game, you'll somehow get flamed for doing something wrong or, from a few times I watched other people play the game, are expecting to carry the team to victory while the rest just sit and dont do anything. Its nuts though and this has been my massive thoughts on the game. Regardless how you play the game, from camping to tunneling, to body blocking and destroying hooks, enjoy the game and dont be a prick to anyone. Keep up the content mate and MORE BASEMENT BUBBA! Lmao
