  1. I havent watched The Shining, but if the author's opinion is anything to go off of, maybe it's better not to have the survivor Wendy Torrence. Survivors ought to be at least a bit interesting rather than just 'Screaming Girl number 8'. Seems like it would've been better to have Kirsty Cotton paired with Pinhead than it would be to get Wendy paired with Johnny

  2. I love Jack and the Shining, but I think I would only want the map and maybe a survivor like Danny from Doctor Sleep. Jack unfortunately is just a man and feels less intimidating than the other killers IMO since he only has an axe. Please don't hate me.

  3. Backstory:
Before going to the overlook hotel. Jack Torrance was a writer trying to recover from his alcohol addiction. A family man who accepted the offer to be the caretaker for the overlook hotel over the winter. Over the couple days him and his son Danny Torrance where noticing random people appearing and disappearing in the hotel. And then when going to the bathroom he met Mr Grady. The last caretaker who was found dead who killed his wife and daughters. He was told to "correct them" next day he grabbed a fire axe and attempted to kill Danny and Wendy. When chasing Danny he got lost. Danny covered his tracks in the snow jack gave up knowing he had failed. All of a sudden smoke started to surround him. He was told if he corrected people he would be given his favourite beer. He accepted the offer and his horrors over the realm began

    Ability:

You are able to set 6 invisible traps around the map by slamming your axe on the ground. When a survivor gets near your trap a ghost from the hotel will jumpscsre the survivor and you will be alerted where they are. But after 3 minutes the trap will go away. If each survivor is jumpscared 3 times. It will become "the overlook party" where 10 will be placed all round the map and and they will randomise each 20 seconds. After 1 minute and 30 seconds the overlook party will deactivate

    Perks:

Typewriter: if the obsession is Healed your speed wi increase by 10% for 2 chases (typewriter has a cool down of 60 seconds)

Trade the survivors soul: whenever a survivor unhooks someone they will be caused to scream and if you hear find that survivor they will not hear your terror radius for 10 seconds (trade the survivors should will not work after being used for 40 seconds)

Hex: here's johnny: any survivor who loops or pallet stuns you would be risking the killers sanity. If you get pallet stunned or looped your speed at damaging generators and breaking pallets and walls will be increased by 3% and will stop until it's on 12%

    Cosmetics:

Business: jacks suit and tie from the beginning of the film

Morning days: jack in his pjs for

Bar tender: jack in the bartender suit from doctor sleep

Jack frost: jack when he is completely frozen

    Map:

The overlook hotel with one version where it's the abandoned one from doctor sleep

The hedge maze with night and daytime versions

And the survivor would be Wendy. And maybe grown up Danny. But that's all I got

  4. Hot take i think outside the acting by Nicholson and the cinematography , The Shining is overrated as fuck and borderline bad. Massive horror fan. This movie started many plot threads that ended with zero fanfare or had no purpose. Which is fine but the movie acts like its the main focus.

Im not saying this with ill intent. Its just my opinion. I would love to be convinced otherwise but im pretty sure im right on this.

  5. As he chased his son through the Snow-covered Maze Jack lost his way, cold and freezing he sat ready to accept his fate, it was then that a strange Fog descended.
just thought I put this as an Idea.
I would license the Book to make KIng proud and maybe give him the Killer Jack should have been.

  6. Jack Nicolson was also referenced in the Mortal Kombat series in a Fatality performed by Johny Cage, but since it was developed by Netherealm Studios owned by WB I think they didn't have much trouble putting that reference over there

  7. I actually think it may be easier for BHVR to get the license from King himself, similar to how they gained the rights to the original novel the Ring movies are based on. Plus, it would open the door for them to gain access to other King monsters if they prove they can get the first one implemented right.
