Hey everyone, today I’m going to voice 10 unpopular opinions that I hold for Dead by Daylight. This is just a bit of fun, and of course just my opinion. There’s going to be a lot of differing opinions on these topics, so if you do disagree, please do drop your own thoughts, down below. I by no means expect everyone to agree on these, I’m interested to see how unpopular they are. Let’s get into it.

Chapter 23 has been announced! It’s Ringu, a licensed chapter releasing in March of 2022. For now we have no further details.

  1. When booms were announced I thought they were gonna share the same totem with killer for example a survivor brings coh and the killer brings in ruin, those 2 perks are shared with the same totem. So what does the survivor do? Clean the hex but lose coh, or leave ruin and keep coh. That’s what I thought.

  2. I'm a killer main and I really don't mind borrowed time and DS because I really don't tunnel a lot but, it's a pain When a survivor gets annoying and escapes at the exit Gate with me close to it using DS

  3. Only things I disagree with are boons (which is only partially) and the key/hatch thing. Personally I think keys are better this way since it was always boring having people escape before gens are done just because they brought an item into the match. and Boons I partially disagree with, I think exponential and shadow step are great, however I feel that CoH just removes way to much pressure from the killer, especially if you play someone like Legion (who I used to main before CoH but now it's almost impossible to spread pressure via injuring because everyone just runs to the boon) but I can't really think of any ways to make CoH feel less oppressive to killers without just making it terrible, maybe make it so that it only grants regular self care speed but then allows you to heal other players with the speed bonus? but even then now it's just super weak and you might aswell just bring a medkit with built to last

  4. For boons, I'd be fine with them being extremely strong, as long as totems can't constantly be re-booned
The old COH effects would be fine, if you could only boon totems once for example 🙂

  5. Yeah Mid-which is small, with less hiding spots, but its a great change of pace from the weird grassy fields of objects (macmillan, autohaven, crotus, yamaoka, red forest,). Also the straight forwardness is good compared to maps like rpd and hawkins.

  6. pigs bear traps can only be removed while the timer is active like in the movies (i change my mind alot weather i want this or not). Myers power should charge faster the farther he stalks his target agree with everything you said in the video btw even the boon one.

  7. A health chapter is literally what this game needs. I don’t mind if they don’t put in new content other than adding skins for a long while in the game, I just want the game to be fixed and patched up. Like for example, fixing the SBMM

  8. Some of my opinion on the points.
    1. Don’t think perks should be removed but wouldn’t be opposed to a couple being merge
    2. Agree they should be strong
    3. Not much to say I do like the license killer however they have more freedom with the unique leading to some interesting concepts
4 I feel boons have hurt the health of the game. I feel they have to high of a reward for low risk. And circle of healing essential counter a entire play style of hit and run which is great against a lot of killers. Especially on maps that are large or have building with multiple levels to them. IMO boons should have a prerequisite or a cool down after being snuff to give killer more incentive to clean them
5.agree the atmosphere is good and the limited stairways influences movement around the map.
    6. Artist isn’t that fun to play against but personally I find pinhead to be my least favorite.
7.Agree. But maybe making a effect similar to comradery where the hook timer pause if the killer is within a few meters of the hook.
    8. Self-care Is fine
9.Yes health chapter is definitely needed
10.I loved the key nerf. However the aura ability’s are actually good. And can replace certain perks such as bond

Overall Great video that brings up some good points

  9. I 100% disagree with you point with Boons, the reset I do agree with the most part, but Boons are annoying and overpowered. I get at least 1 Boon a game as Killer and specifically Circle of Healing is so unbalanced it gives to much and pushes forward the already imbalanced healing meta for Survivors.

  10. I think boons should be the same as hex’s in terms of not being able to use at some point, like maybe 3 times you can light a boon depending on the tier of the perk bc both boons and hexes are perks that can be game changing but can be taken away

  11. A health chapter would be great, but I need the developers to work more on console optimization, especially on the Nintendo Switch port cause us console players are always at a disadvantage with the constant frame drops & bugs.

  12. The only thing I'll have to completely disagree with is that boons are fine in their current state.
As a person who doesn't main any side, I've come to the thought that boons over all could take a little nerf. I've seen some people complain how they got into an unwinnable situation, because all survivors ran circle of healing at once and kept blessing and healing on the whole map.
A good nerf would maybe be that as you snuff the totem, you also break it. That would not only take the opportunity to bless it, but also prevent a whole team booning the whole map and would also give a tiny biff to Pentimento.

My unpopular opinion actually is that I love facing good nurse mains as it's pretty fun watching their fast-paced gameplay

  13. I’m fine with all boons that aren’t CoH, as it’s just disheartening to see all of your hard work disappear right before your eyes. When a team fully resets in less than 20 seconds, it’s a worse feeling than when someone hops into a locker right in front of you and you know there’s nothing you can do to punish them in that given moment.

  14. I can Agree with the Boons NOW, but before no. My only issue with Boons is that there's no limit to them, at all, there should be. Or that if they boon a Hex, and the killer snuffs it, said totem gets destroyed (Or this should be a subeffect of pentimento since boons utterly fuck this perk)

  15. I can understand a lot of your opinions. Paused at the artist one to just say while Artist is annoying and difficult to loop, Cenobite is my leat favorite killer. The guy gets map wide pressure from the second everyone spawns in, the ability to teleport to someone for strong 1v1 if anyone tries to turn off the map wide pressure, and if no one turns off his pressure, no one is getting out. Unlike with twins where you can run away with Victor, you cannot do that with his box, as the chain hunt timer only pauses while solving the box and when someone goes down and the timer or hunt resets. Man has no business being so oppressive without a good counter, because even running with the box does nothing and doing gens during a chain hunt is a nightmare, and not the Freddy kind but worse. In an uncoordinated team or solo queue, good luck ever having a productive team that doesn't just slowly succumb to this guy.

  16. I agree with all of these. I dislike Midwich, but its fine rly.
And on the perk combination, one idea I've always liked is combining Guardian and Buckle up, to basically make it a Downed Survivor extravaganza, and remove WGLF effect on healing (so you cant do an instaheal on downed peeps), and make it similar to BBQ, but whenever you perform an action that allows you to gain a stack, you see the auras of all Survivors for 8 seconds.
Another idea is combining Better Together (or Situational Awareness for the new players) and Prove Thyself. Other survivors see the gen you're repairing (within the range) and you do the *insert 10 year long list of Prove Thyself effects here*.
And Artist, I feel it isn't the anti-looping that sucks. Its the constant need to Repel, and the fact that she is a Jack of all trades, in the sense that she can interfere with gens, shut down loops, and down survivors with her power… but she can't do any of it effectively. Her power is easy to counter in all areas, and her add-ons, are boring. Her only good perk is Pain Resonance, and don't get me started on how she doesn't have a crow perk. I feel like the Chapters have been "Meh" since Binding of Kin. Twins are trash, Trickster is either too OP or too shitty, Nemesis is the only exception, Pinhead has an easily counter-able power, Artist is just reread the top

  17. I honestly never thought I’d see someone let alone a content creator Agree with me on the original killers are more unique then licensed. I started playing this game in 2020 a month before blight arrived and he was so cool he was a rush killer with the thrill of winning some killers can’t compare to. Now look at the license killers Bubba was Billy mostly on release, Pig only really has the traps that point to saw, Freddy is the most boring killer, Ghostface is actually pretty cool he’s the most unique and fun out of all of them, Myers is my personal favourite killer but is still very bad start game, nemesis has to rely on his zombies if the teams are really synchronised and Pinhead is my least favourite killer because of how trivial it is to bypass the boxes weakness and every pinhead uses the same obnoxious build. Their inclusion also Brought some of the most dislike maps in the game like midwitch and RPD and don’t forget the iconic haddonfield. Overall I like license killers and survivors but I wish there was more original then license going forward maybe every birthday they announce a new license build up hype for the birthday stream and show us everything. But that’s just my opinion.

  18. I totally agree with the part about any perks becoming basekit. It’s obvious that most people who want BT or DS to become basekit simply are bad at the game and can’t accept that tunneling is a strategy.

  19. I respectfully disagree on Boon Totems. I think they are broken…but like.
    Not gameplay wise.
    Just quite literally broken.

The fact I just don't get a sound notification half the time really messes with me. I feel like half the times I make a bad decision with Boon Totems as Killer, it's cause I am not even aware that one is in play. And if I don't even know one is in play, why would I go investigate the area with two already completed Gens? I'm over here wondering how they are healing so fast and only in endgame do I see where they were running off to and healing the whole time.

Now gameplay wise I do find some issues with them. But that's mostly on the totem spawns themselves rather than the boons themself. Like when someone keeps putting up a Boon Totem on the 2nd floor of Main Building in a Mcmillian Estate map. I have to keep giving up my Gen Pressure, and sometimes even my chase pressure, just to go deal with it…only to hear it get put back up about a minute later. They do alleviate a ton of pressure. Especially in a close to endgame scenario. As a Killer, you can't leave your 3 Gen. But if a Survivor just takes a hit, assuming you aren't an Insta-Down Killer, and holds W to a COH area…what do you? Hunting them down is exactly what the other 3 want. To leave the 3 Gen. But if you don't leave, you'll never down a Survivor cause they can run off on their own to heal relatively fast, even with the nerf. The other two boons aren't a problem and are actually interesting. I think most people agree it's really only COH that is causing grief. Now I don't think they are literally broken but, I feel like they can alleviate just a tad too much pressure during a close to endgame scenario.

  20. Unpopular opinion: YOU DON'T NEED anti genrush perks to win games.

Also, this game NEEDS a health chapter. And thought might sound dull, good complex and huge patches of this nature only bring interest. People who got tired of problem and left the game – they come back. Those who were bored but still here – get a ton of fresh air and game feels new even, if the patch is really good.
Such things are crazy important and should BE.

  21. Who honestly would think a health chapter is unpopular? It would drastically improve the performance of the game with the appropriate teams being able to concentrate on the backlog of fixes they have in mind. We see this in the form of nurse being recoded altogether. Boons I think just need a 60 second cooldown after being snuffed, because it destroys some killers pressure altogether such as the Legion and the Twins. While I don't think Borrowed Time should be made basekit, Kindred could easily be made basekit if they really wanted to close the 15% escape rate gap between coordinated swf groups and solo queue. Going back to the health chapter, it would allow them time to rework or test perk reworks to help eliminate the filler perk problem we have.

  22. I agree with everthing you said! The only thing I think too is that they should make DBD more scary like it was in the past when you had a panic attack after listening your heart beat 1 time. miss those jumpscares 🙁

  23. I agree with hatch and keys, keys are so useless its incredible, and hatch spawn is garbage aswell, its literally not interesting…. yeah they were op but they didn't have to make them useless as a result

  24. I agree with most things you said. Actually, almost all of them, except for the op add-ons. I agree that they should be strong, making the killer really good, but making it op is something that might make the game really unfair for survivors, and most of the time boring to play too. However making the add-ons strong, just like the Tombstone you mentioned, is something I agree with.
