  1. I like lights out personally but I haven't played dbd for more than a few matches at a time for a long while so In small increments I'd say it's good but they can do better I still want a 4v4 where there is 3 survivors and one killer per team

  2. I enjoyed the chill matches but was discouraged to come across Killers wanting to win at 4 gens. Like, can we have one day of relaxing before the sweat seeps through? Lots of fun survivors out there though; I enjoyed playing Man with Machete and sneaking around corners. If everyone’s relaxed, the mode can be a lot of fun!

  3. The gamemode is barebones, but I think it was a test run of new gamemodes for future use as this is probably there first new queue for separate gamemode which probably took a while to implement into the game. Scott Jund mentioned this point and I agree with it as I was thinking the same thing. The first gamemode had to be simple so it could come out fast as other ones they mentioned would take a while to make. This is just my opinion, but I think the next ones will be much more in depth. BTW not an excuse for BHVR, just food for thought. Let me know your thoughts.

  4. Overall it is a decently fun and atmospheric game mode I just think that there should be some protection for just unhooked survivors as the amount of times I will track the blood thinking I am going after the unhooked who I hit only to find the person who was just unhooked is unfair

  5. The problem I see is that the DBD community (and this is most online communities to be fair) does not understand nuance. It's either the best thing ever or the absolute worst. So while I don't want to "coddle" BHVR, I do want to try to give a bit of a counter-narrative to how bad this is and praise it as a good first step so that they do keep working on it.

Otherwise, I fear this whole thing will go the way of the mori update. The idea of rewarding killers for a 4k with a mori was good, as was the intention of trying to prevent killers from slugging to troll, but the execution was flawed. But the backlash was so incredibly intense that BHVR buried it and never talked about it again, likely thinking it wasn't worth the risk to try to iterate on the concept. So now we're stuck with killers slugging to troll and moris being an offering for no reason. Nothing was fixed or improved.

  6. I'm liking Lights Out more than the default game. One thing they could do to improve this would be to make it darker and give flashlights a longer range. Maybe even add lanterns to better illuminate the surrounding at risk of being seen by the killer.

  7. My exact words were, the gamemode is meh, and that's it really. It's not terrible, it's playable, but not great.

Even still, I think 1 week is too short a time to have a gamemode up for. If/when they do another one, I really hope it's either longer or a main stay. I think if you are going to have limited time gamemode that it should be active until the next mode comes out, and then cycle them around on a schedule.

And all of them should be made available in customs. No excuse for them not to be.

  8. I think this modifier needs a new objective entirely. The whole do gens and hook survivors thing doesn't really work. As a survivor you need that awareness of your surroundings since you're the one leading chase. I felt like a sitting duck doing gens and a bubba came around the corner to insta down me. This is a start for sure but make a new objective for survivors and killers not the old DBD game play. And it does encourage killers to go back to hook because where else can they find survivors? It was pretty fun playing with a whole swf but it gets old real quick

  9. As a person who frequently rolls my eyes when you criticize killers for "maybe not being good at the video game", I actually find it interesting that I haven't had much issue with 8-hooking in LO. I could 4k most of the games I play but I find it relatively more fun to give each of the survivors a fair shake in chase. Once I've gotten everyone on deathhook I've pretty much proven my skill so I chill out the rest of the game, and ngl I prefer that to getting stomped in pubs while getting frustrated with the other side.
Ergo, I don't get why so many killers camp and tunnel in LO, because I don't consider myself all that skilled yet seem to excel in it, despite playing some of the worst killers in the game (I have mainly played Trapper, Twins and Pig lol)
Also, don't take the dig at your critiques personally Headache, I love the tips you give in your reviews, I legit have improved watching those videos and you're definitely a major contributing factor in my own improvement and attitude these last few months

  10. Another killer i find to be easy mode besides plague and Legion is Bubba, Bubba is literally a beast in this game mode cuz the man has a chainsaw that is pretty easy to use and he's stealthy you are gonna be paranoid ASF on where he's coming from and you will probably get instadown 90% of the time, and i say good luck trying to get out alive against a Bubba in lights out mode

  11. I really like the Lights Out game mode. It's been a fun experience for me on both survivor and killer. I am going to be playing it during the entire time it is out, honestly.

One of the reasons why is I think it is helping me learn a better macro sense for the matches. I'm learning where to go, what gens people are on, and how to better listen for noises to find people. It's been a very fun and educational time. I know it isn't for everyone and that's alright.

I also love the blood point bonus no matter what role you're playing. That doesn't hurt either. XD
