A Vital PSA For Solo Queue Survivor – Dead by Daylight

be comfortable with staying on the hook vs camping and tunneling killers. it is literally the safest place you can be, and as long as your team blows through gens as it happens, you might die but your team will overall win and the killer will lose.

  1. But why should I have to suffer the boredom of being camped? Why is it wrong to sui on hook and go next? It's better to do that than wait for ages whilst survivors either do nothing, or completely throw the game trying to get you off the hook, and if the killer is trying to camp you, it basically automatically means you are going to get tunnelled too. And in solo queue, teammates aren't going to be able to do anything. The only time I will stay is if I can tell all my teammates are decent at the game, which isn't very common.

If I am playing solo, and I'm getting camped, I'm going to go next. Killer will probably moan about it, but who cares? Killers will moan about anything, no matter what, and for the other solo teammate survivors, it's just another loss.

  2. Survivor forced to do nothing so they move onto the next game. Survivor can exit the game in 3 minutes by suicide and killers are forced to kill all survivors in order to move onto the next match.

Blame behavior for not fixing the unhealthy gameplay.

  3. All that BHVR needs to do is make it so hooks move if the killer is in too close proximity. Maybe they shouldn't do this for SWF, as it's easy to avoid this scenario, but they should implement different gameplay if it's solo.

  4. I remember being first hooked and no one came to save me, then killer started camping me and I reached 80% of anti-camp. Then my teammate Claud came to sit in a bush FOR WHOLE MINUTE, got scared last 10 seconds and refused to exchange. My bar was still 80%. I still have so many whys till this day.

  5. Also something for those who are getting face camped on hook, WAIT until the LAST MOMENT to unhook yourself to maximize wasted time, you don’t lose your free unhook so just waste their time

  6. Could you please make a video for survivor players to educate them as to how to counter sadako? I found it so exhausting that people have no clue what to do whatsoever when they play against a constantly teleporting one.

  7. Solo-queue Survivor on console, and all I can say for a PSA is to learn how to read the room. If peeps are playing properly, play properly. If you have teammates giving up and dying on hook, it may not hurt to just go to the Killer and figure out what to do from there. You either get killed and go to the next match, or Killer feels awkward and you farm.

Matches can change and fluctuate. The play style should, too. ^^

  8. Scot has faith in the DBD community.. I like it.. although i had the opportunity to ask a player who rage quit and the summary of it is players kill themselves on hook to go to the next game immediately and do not care about the other team benefiting from it..(which makes players who just up and D/C a team player now..because bots are a thing now..not encouraging D/c just stating the irony of it) especially since i believe you said..players are just gonna kill themselves on hook to avoid the D.c Penalty

  9. Most times people kill themselves on hook when they are just sitting there and 0 Gens have been touched. If everyone is on a Gen most people will sit there, but the opposite happens because when someone gets hooked the whole team stops what they are doing and you see 3 people run across the whole map to rescue and 2 get downed before the 3rd guy gets to you.

  10. I have 'friends' I play with on comms who still don't get it. They don't understand when to save even when we are a 4-man, so as for solo-queue, I am not holding my breath that some random is going to get this. Also, in case anyone reads this and doesn't think I agree with Scott, I run Kindred, Reassurance, Deja Vu and like one chase/exhaustion perk for the majority of my solo games, and I have long since given up on thinking randoms will benefit and make better decisions because I give them Kindred…

  11. i think people just need to realize this game is unplaying in solo q, i don’t think i’ve played a solo q match in months. swf is way more fun, easier, INCREDIBLY more reliable. if you can’t find a swf i recommend playing killer lol, and i hate killer

  12. I think the survivor killing themselves on hook is also a "f this killer, i'm over this match & ready for the next" as well. When I see teammates do this, i just shrug, understand it's a terrible game nowadays, and don't get upset over it. Even though all your tips are 100% valid & useable, no one is ever on the same page (leaving them on the hook makes them cuss you out end game chat, they give up no matter what the reason is, etc) which means most games are just horrendous to deal with (to add on, the terrible matchmaking pairing a 2k+ survivor with a 15 hour survivor so they wouldn't know useful strats like this yet and insta-unhook).
There's really nothing much a lobby of a/couple solos can do.

  13. Nah. I log into this game to play it. If the best move, in a match is to not play, then I'm going next. That match was a wash for me. I don't care about the outcome for the others at that point. They wish for me to just sit there and not play, so that they can continue playing. I don't get anything for staying. There is no worth in me staying and not having fun.

  14. I think the big problem is that 90% of the time, solo Q teams will not have the information they need to make the right decision. The amount of times I'm on a hook and know for a fact that the killer is gone and people just let you hang when someone else is in a chase… It's honestly exactly why I always run Kindred whenever I solo Q. Kindred is such a necessary perk for solo players.

  15. I mean, behavior could improved in soloq like the hud (which didnt really change much)

Adding the camp meter on the hud would be a massive improvement, but alas, they need to set the escape rate at 40% not higher

  16. Whenever I play with friends and one of them gets camped we generally use that time to slam out as much gen progress as possible. It’s boring as hell but if we go for saves we’ll mostly end up trading or having multiple people injured which depending on killers can hinder you even more than if you just left the person to die on hook
