BHVR Are Responsible For The Hacking/Cheating In Dead By Daylight

I wanted to weigh in on one of the most topical conversations in the Dead By Daylight community at the moment: The Hacking and Cheating issues.

In my opinion, these problems are the responsibility of BHVR, and for every day they do nothing about them, they let their community down and push the game closer to death.

But what do you guys think? Let me know in the comments and remember to leave a like and subscribe if you enjoyed the video!

  1. I've been waiting for a decent matchmaking for solo for over a year and I never play without my SWF because of that, it's just a complete mess so I'm scared to think how long they will take to stop hackers and cheating if they even ever do. People should strike the game or something idk if that's a dumb/pointless idea though but it's all I can think of. :/

  2. I can't believe you never seen a hacker or at most once or twice. I'm no content creator and i have played against over 20 blatant ones. I think they hang at high mmr and are mostly survivors . I only see them as killer

  3. BHVR are working on a new game and may be the reason they are doing nothing to sort it. DBD will become/has become nothing more than a cash cow. the fix for them is dump this and start another. no doubt it will be plagued with the same problems as DBD. a shame as the potential is great. maybe they can sell DBD and someone take over who actually knows what they are doing.

  4. with the money they are doing they could at this point had already started a DBD2 complete overhaul of the codes which is just crap and could from that point already counter some hacking, and then fix the server Ddos shit… VHS had Ddos issue and they shutdown the game for months to fix it… and it was closed beta…
    what is behavior doing?
    releasing overpriced skin…
    making a dating sim…
porting their shitty codes on cellphone and every plateform they can…
it seams as if their tactics is to eventually get the hackers to have pity of bhvr, and stop hacking because it's just too easy…
not to say that easy anti cheat is a lame anticheat… any internet security expert I asked about for anticheat give me the same answer…
what is the point of having an anticheat if it doesn't work!!??
"but without it more would cheat!!!"
    do you seriously think that?!
anyone who wanna cheat is already cheating in DBD… removing easy won't change it…
and hire something else than artists to fix those shit!!!

  5. I'll go you one tinfoil hat further; what if at least one (or more) of those sites selling hacks are Behavior? 🙂 They are, after all, the people most equipped to design and transmit them. They can, after all, simply decide who needs buy new hacks and can choose who to "Catch" and who not to "Catch Yet." Since most hackers go back and buy another iteration. Behavior can make money on multiple ends, selling to hackers, making hackers buy new accounts when they are caught, and then sell them hacks all over again. Do you see my point? 🙂 I'm not saying this is what is going on, but it is certainly an interesting notion isn't it?

  6. What was that Aaron? You need us to step away from DBD creation for awhile? Let me know when and i will join. I'll get other friends to do the same. If it will help Behavior fix the issue, I'm on board.

  7. Cheating ruins the game even for regular people, bc it’s not just the content creator and the cheater in those matches. It. Breeds. Distrust. It only encourages toxicity, nobody knows if someone is legit or not, you literally can’t trust any rando to actually play the game. As a killer main, I’ve been hyper-vigilant with every survivor I chase, I ALWAYS watch their each move to see if they like, turn a little too fast or always get the dead hard correct. Because you CAN’T know unless they’re just flying around and spamming hooks and shit, when they basically tell you. Who wants to play a game where you can’t tell if anyone is following the same rules?

  8. They make a list and rank reactions from streamers. Streamers who get upset or care get it worse. People who treat it like it's funny are listed as "good attitude" pretty crazy. I don't get it as much because I play 90% survivor on stream. But when it happens I have not really gave it mind or attention. I bet it's maddening for killer mains though! Time for BHVR to step up

  9. I'm so glad to see all the big and my favorite ccs for dbd coming together to tell bhvr to get their anti cheat together, because otherwise, the state of the game is ok, this needs to be their priority

  10. The report system is Terrible. I think 90% of it is scripted. I’ve reported with video, ppl flying etc the response will be thanks next time add a link…yet it has a link. Then it’s marked as solved…I’ll get that same person again within a day or two and they have no bans. I then reopen, add a new video and receive another auto gen message and it’s marked as solved. I check on their profile again and no bans and still playing. I’ve had two live stream and their twitch is shutdown but their dbd accounts are not banned they still play and just restream on a new twitch.
My theory, no one man’s the report system much, it’s an auto system and they’re not losing money cos these ppl buy new accounts to keep cheating..🤷🏻‍♀️my opinion

  11. I right now consume more dbd content than play It. I stopped like 2 years ago and have started playing again casually not long ago. Never encountered a hacker but I have seen plenty of videos and streams with them so its clearly an issue specially when the Game is so cheap and even was free on Epic for a time so they have all the accounts they want.

Without a hardware ban i dont think this Will be fixeable.

About bvhr response. I have seen this adressed in others videos. The creators know but I think they just dont know what to do.
I saw a vídeo of one of the hackers Who created the cheats talking about how they tried to implement walls for that and that for the company was a very Big step on security but that for him It was not so much.

They (the company) said in an interview that they dont want to Talk about this issue publically and give information because then the hackers would know more. Its like a war of knowledge.

Personally idk. Bvhr doesnt seem to know what to do with this regard and as one of the hackers said: its always easier to find the hole in the code than to make It.

So personally idk how to fix this. Maybe linking your account to a mobile phone. Maybe investing a lot of money in a better protection. Maybe hardware banning but its a serious issue sadly that usually tends to happen in free or cheap games with lot of engagement and not a really Big part of the budget Focus on this. I have seen It before and i dont know a fix.

    Im just rambling

  12. I remember I was playing a match. next thing I know I got 2 hooks. gonna work on My third, I saw the Leon running towards the basement. while I carry the survivor I couldn't move or do nothing next thing I know. I am on the lobby. it said I DC which I didn't. because as I was about to work on my third hook. I got booted out of the game. it wasn't fair to me. because now I was punished for I had to wait for 5 minutes. which is not fair too me.

  14. They should just be honest and say "we are terribly sorry but we have NO idea how to combat these hackers". Instead of not saying anything at all. I also think streamers need to stop ✋️ as soon as there's a hacker, stop playing and don't give them the clout they're seeking. I know this sounds ridiculous but BHVR clearly has NOTHING they know how to do about it. If a streamer has real fans, those fans will not only be there for DBD but any game!! And We as a community need to stop making youtube videos about it, stop talking about it, literally STOP giving these shit heads the clout they're seeking! 🤡 they're clowns 🤡

  15. i mentioned this in spooknjukes’ video earlier, but my friend and i went up against a cheater v recently. we were both survivors w/ 2 other random solos and a solo killer. one of the other survivors was blatantly cheating (flying, instant finished gens, and instant opened gate). the flying was kind of funny until it wasn’t. we just let the killer kill us because it wasn’t fair that they were unable to have a fair game, plus it wasn’t really a win anyways. we both reported the cheater and moved on. hopefully the other survivor and the killer did as well, but i don’t know. we were really frustrated after that match, but other than reporting, there wasn’t much we could do :/

quick edit: i unfortunately don’t remember the cheater’s username or what they were playing on, though i’m not sure the system they were playing on really matters

  16. I think BHVR is taking the stance that talking about it gives it attention and for most of the cheaters and the ones making the cheats attention is what they crave.
There's also the issue that BHVR can't really talk about anything regarding the cheats as it might tip the cheat creators off as to what they're programming the anti-cheat to look for for the blocking process and such.
It's basically really hard to say anything else than "we're aware and we're looking into what we can do". And from what I remember they did make a statement somewhat along those lines at one point.
What I really do wish they did though was work on a more convenient reporting system, where you can report in game and the report automatically contains a log of all that happened that game so they can see illegal/impossible things directly in the log rather than needing video evidence. So people that aren't streamers can report cheaters. At least they have officially stated that you no longer need the cheaters SteamID, but you still have to make a report in game and then another one on the website. And most like provide video still.

  17. The only reason why I use anonymous mode is to prevent people from sending me messages on Xbox. Because if someone does decide to send me a salty message they will have to do some digging to find my profile. Even then you would have to add me as a friend to even start messaging me. It's how I avoid salty people from killing my vibe.

  18. They can do nothing about it. The games security is flawed at its core, and the devs have zero way to fix it, thus they ignore the issue and only ban people if they get a video. After they launched for free on the epic store (which has brought in very little revenue) it allowed hackers infinite free keys, and they got so tired of paying someone to just review the videos that they have stopped doing that. Two people check a few videos during their lunch break, thats it.

They will not be responding to the issue, nor take any public questions about it, as it would only hurt them. I have about 5k hours in DBD and hate to say it, but its pretty much over for the competitive end of the matchmaking. That being said, its for the best. BHVR has had a hatred for their community since shortly after launch after being threatened by the survivormain community with a "review bomb" if they gave killers an incentive bonus to play, and it took them literally 5 more years to get the balls to do it. Also, having to move to a web forum because Steam was overturning their bans, really pissed them off, to the point where Peanits made alt accounts named Borisky and Sluzzy to "troll the community back," and still posts weekly on them. Lastly, their attempt at a new game Deathgarden got review bombed by their own community, which was the last straw. At this point they really dont care anymore. ggs

  19. This is why if i were to ever start live streaming on my channel, I don’t think I’d ever stream dead by daylight or multiplayer games in general. It’s stressful, it’s mentally exhausting and it’s dangerous. I rather just avoid it altogether and play something like super Mario 😂😂😂

  20. Well said, I agree with most of the points you brought up. The only thing I don’t agree with is not blaming the cheaters. Sure, having your car stolen, it’s 80% your fault for not locking the door. But the other 20% of accountability still needs to be held on to the car thief. It’s not their nature, it’s an active choice that they made, knowing full well the impact it would have on others, and either not caring or reveling in the anger and sadness of the person on the receiving end. I’ve never walked past a car that wasn’t mine and tried testing if the door was locked, just like I’ve never had the desire to use cheats in competitive multiplayer games. Other than that, i fully agree with your video. Well done Aaron.

I started playing the switch version a few years ago just to try and avoid cheaters and hacker and it has been going well untill about a month or so when had cross play one but was forced to turn off cross play due to the amount of cheaters was getting out of hand so I turned of cross play and the next 5 matches I was facing switch player only and lord and behold the 5 matches had blaten cheaters running as 1hit down fly hacking no clipping killers useing proxie chat to both trash talk and try to promote and sell cheats so I use not played dbd in a out a week reporting cheaters does nothing I literl6 bought the switch version to avoid cheaters and hacker then the fatch I turned off cross play and my 1st and last 5 matches were killer main cheater is messed up when I play as killer or suviver I normaly avoid ttv players but their is w ttv players that have been useing their privite discord to try to sell cheats and toggle cheats wile they live stream after learning of several ttvs I followed and watch were selling cheats useing cheats I unsupervised and reported them to twictn with pics, screen shots and video proof and twitch has done nothing

  23. SpookyLoopz has also released a video talking about this, suggesting that possible fixes for this could be adding a match timer, removing the disconnect penalty, or bringing in an anti-cheat system. Personally I’ve heard that the anti-cheat systems never really do their job all that well, because the cheaters find ways to get around them, But personally I also disagree with the other two solutions suggested by SpookyLoopz. A match timer might be a good idea for solving this problem if it’s one that also shortens the time before the server just ends the match/breaks down, but the problem is what happens to matches that are just passed the extension of the match timer but not because someone is cheating to keep the match running longer and hold the killer and potentially everyone else hostage. as far as the DC punishment timer goes, There are already too many people who just don’t respect it, because five minutes isn’t long enough to deter a good majority of rage quitters, and chances are that they aren’t rage quitting often enough for the timer to be worthwhile respecting. So I don’t see the rage quit timer being removed as a valid fix to the problem either, due to the fact that it would more than likely lead to more people rage quitting. For the most part it already seems like the big name streamers in the community for the most part are already being targeted by cheaters. So trying to solve the problem by removing the penalty for disconnecting also doesn’t seem like a viable solution, since the larger majority of the community isn’t experiencing cheaters at as greater frequency as the big name streamers are, meaning DCing seems like a more common plague to the rest of us, and therefore it honestly feels more like the DC penalty should be harsher more strict. Honestly the best solution is probably the solution that behaviour is least likely to want to implement, because it would require them to hire more people. This game is big, Well known, And popular enough to be making behaviour enough money that they could probably hire a team of people whose job it was to sort through and deal with incoming reports, but instead they are happy with the fact that they wasted money paying there developers to add a useless report system to the game. At this point I feel as though all hope is lost since behaviour I’ve only done one thing that was surprising compared to all the other greedy companies out there these days. That one thing being openly admitting that they do not care about the report system. I have seen interviews with some of the developers who said things like body blocking is not a reportable offense, which makes it obvious that they care so little about their report system that they have no idea what things are even citable examples from the various report categories. Since body blocking is actually given as an example of reportable Andrew the grief in category. you’re right though if behaviour doesn’t start caring about this issue the game which I’m pretty sure at this point is one of their largest forms of income is probably going to die off maybe even quickly. So I guess we can only hope enough members of their community specifically ones who are a part of the fog whispers partner program start to say enough about this then maybe they’ll realize it’s worthwhile investing some money into fixing this problem properly, since it seems to me like it may be a matter of either they lose some money hiring team to care about the report system, or they choose to completely ignore the problem and end up in the long run losing more money due to losing the main source of income for their company. this is a problem that I’ve noticed a lot recently with large corporations Who in a perfect world would be punished for forgetting the golden rule “the customer is always right“, Because when you forget that you’re basically forgetting who actually holds your company up and keeps it from crumbling to the ground, but the problem is it’s not a perfect world meeting companies are let get away with being allowed to bite the hand that feeds them.

  24. One big problem is that bhvr has said publicly that they dont care if you report someone for hacking. You need to first report someone, then open a support ticket and send in video evidence before they even consider doing anything about it. Thats just so many hoops to jump through and it aint rly reasonable.

  25. I basically quit playing temporarily. I faced so many cheaters and hackers last time I played that it just wasn't fun anymore. The very last match I played as killer I was held hostage for almost 2 hours. And these people even displayed their subtle gameplay and I was so shook because I'd have easily played it off as someone being good as survivor.
At this point I would doubt any survivor.
I tried playing survivor (which I don't really enjoy) and I didn't face any cheaters. Maybe one.. Now that I think of it. But as killer I got them constantly.. In 10 matches 6 were obvious cheaters, and in the other 4 I'm sure there were subtle cheaters.

Reporting doesn't even help anymore because those survivor cry babies who report for camping, tunneling, looping, hooking whatever..

They don't even have to create a new account. There are sites where you can buy a profile for like 4 bucks with all the killers and survivors and everything and those accounts they use to hack/cheat in.

  26. Not gonna lie just seems like they care about their quick money grabs rather then the actual game, like everytime there's a major issue they slap new unneeded cosmetics on it before even acknowledging the issues and it's sad that's why I don't buy anything with money anymore

  27. You know, what I hate too? When you game crashes, you get a crash report, that you even can send to Behavior. But STILL get the penalty. It's not my fault, it crashes. In the beginning it's 5min, that's fine but then it happens again and to wait 10min.. I'd mostly stop playing dbd right there mostly..

  28. This game really needs kill switch style anti-cheat software that is capable of detecting cheats / hacks. If the software detects cheats / hacks it would auto-kick the player and if the software detects any tampering it would have the capability of hardware locking the account.

  29. I've never seen a hacker personally in DBD, but from what I've seen with others and especially what streamers have to put up with, BHVR really need to get this dealt with or else their figureheads aren't going to play anymore.
