BUFFING KEYS

Keys used to be one of the strongest survivor items in Dead by Daylight, but these days they feel more like a waste of inventory space. That’s why we’re using a build to buff keys and bring their strength closer to how great they used to be.

With the Blood Amber add on, we can use the key to track the killers aura, and when coupled with open handed the range of the aura reading gets up to 48 meters. We’ll also use Left Behind along with this to guarantee we can always find hatch (since hatch now only spawns with only one survivor left in the match). And finally Built to Last ensures that we can get the key’s charges back after using them – because now you can’t use the key on a hatch unless it has charges. Altogether, it doesn’t make keys as strong as they used to be, but at least we can get close to remembering how fun they were before the nerf.

  1. Backlog Barry moment – I've had this video ready since MARCH of this year. I was hoping I could wait until keys got buffed to release this video, but i'm not sure when or if that's ever going to happen.

The biggest surprise I found was how rare it was to actually use a key on hatch. I played 16+ games trying SPECIFICALLY to get killer to kick hatch so I could key through it, but more often i'd find it first anyways or the hatch would never get kicked
