I play both sides fairly equally. As a killer try to play your own game and not get drawn in to playing the way survivors want. As a survivor, I've been on solo and we've popped 3 gens I've got board and went to mess with the killer a bit. Sometimes I get killed but it's worth it. I think some killer mains need to understand that interacting with the killer is better that sitting on gens
in regards to that tweet, is it fun for the killer to chase for 3 gens only to lose their only down to a flashlight save because you had to force them to an open dead zone to down them, and if you stop to look around for savers first they get up with wglf/unbreakable, then they spend the rest of the game stunned or blind while the last 2 gens get finished by a hyperfocus commodius built to last haver and the survivors get a free escape? And also can't injure multiple people either because boons/green medkits/ syringes/ basically having 4 health stages exists now…not fun for the killer at all.
I started having way more fun in DBD as killer when my motivation changed from trying to get the 4k to trying to have fun and enjoy chases with the survivors.
Well you kinda forgot another part of this issue. Lemme try to explain here. I played a 3 man with my mates (i rarely play dbd anyway these times) and we had ofc a random who wasnt that good. We had a wesker on the game (without offering) and the wesker started to tunnel the fuck out of the random guy. Since the random wasnt good he started to prethrow pallet after pallet, me and my mates had to cycle through and take hits for him otherwise he wouldve been dead the next few min. Like that we bought somewhat enough time to do 4 gens, unfortunately random died and the killer let us all 3 bleed out on the ground for no reason except he thought we tried to "bully him". He then passive agressively said to us "you guys didnt like the ground? :)". Ofc in the end it wouldve been better to just let the random die and push gens like that, that was our mistakes in the end but letting us all bleed out was totally unreasonable. And that made me quit again dbd for the last 2 months.
Looking at this back, a BIG part of why I dont enjoy dbd anymore is 90% of the community doesnt play the game anymore cuz of it beeing fun or just simplay to play a game. They play it to bolster their own ego, try to make others look bad or even make feel bad or annoyed. To show they are better and rub it to someones face. I cant even remember the last killer game I played where I had a normal gg wp in the end cuz literally I had in every single game lately some kind of unecessary toxic or just simply annoying guy in the lobby.
Another example I had a guy teaming up with the killer and both let me bleed out on the ground cuz the guy was insulting a other guy and I just protected him. The killer was also random but still teamed up with him so ye really fun.
There’s 3 type of squads I’ve seen when they get aggressive
1. They make strategic aggression, it’s more about making the right save at the right time, or just getting a flashlight save because they were in the area
2. They play so aggressively the only thing I can think of is that they are hoping to infuriate me so bad that I’ll make mistakes in the match, like it’s a bunch of flashlights and body blocking and head ons and t-bags, they still have a strategy to win but the main point is I’m gonna suck at chase because I’m too pissed
3. They do not care for winning, they do not care for gens they will do 4 gens and just stop. Or open the gates and not leave, they seem to just be going for a high score of how li f they can be in the match
It’s still a mind game sometimes, I Remeber how infuriating it was when I used to get stunned for the third time In 2 minutes or couldn’t get a hook, but I will say that I see a lot less of 2 to and 3 over the years
Matchmaking being good or not, survivor squads that choose to extend the match by like 20 to 30 minutes just to waste and be obnoxious 99 gens and literally just wasting your time and pretty much holding you hostage at that point automatically become bully squads
beating them or not after that 20 or 30 minutes of gameplay is NOT a killer win really
all that killer has done is heavily inflated their ego and they have had 20 to 30 minutes of laughing their head off at your expense.
HOw is that in any plane of reality a win and bully?
Especially as a M1 killer when the game decides to spawn jungle gyms back-to-back and into shack
I will say, while you are right about the difference in being bullied and someone being a dick, the term “bully squad” could still be very accurate. If a group of 4 people go into a game with the intent of possible off the killer by teabagging every time they get a stun and flashlight clicking every chance they get, they’re being a dick with the intent of ruining the killer’s experience. And while it may be a one time experience between the squad and the killer, the group probably does it repeatedly.
And I would absolutely describe someone who goes around and harasses people with the intent of making them miserable, as a bully.
While i agreed to an extent my definition of a "bully squad" is a group of people going personal against someone regardless of the result of the match. So yeah there are probably a few but not as common and at least to me it has nothing to do with how they play but more about how they handle the interaction when all is over.
Good players don't get them. that's because there too busy bullying 50hr killers after failing to bully the 10k hours killer
When a player knows there better then you, why do they feel the need to rub it in? Just do the objective and move on. They won't because then its back to 5k hour killers.
I think the closest thing to a bully squad would be Otz and thr other guys when they start a new hardcore series. Even without perks going against new players will leave them with a poor experience. Yes they do their best, for the most part, to not be mean about it but its still gonna leave the killer feeling bad since they maybe got a hook the entire time
Meme squads are often misconstrued as bully squads. Killer gets head on stunned fourty times but still gets a 4k because no one was doing the objective.
A bully squad is a team of 4 players going out of their way to annoy the killer. Now, yes, the end result can be that they get destroyed because nobody's doing gens but that doesn't mean they weren't attempting to make the match as unfun as possible for the killer.
Bully Squads are definitely few and far between, but the majority of groups labelled as bully squads are just good players.
The whole point of DBD matches are to build up tension and for it to be released when you get chased unexpectedly. When survivors become more aware that there are certain ways of short cutting to the whole suspens part of dbd. It kind of makes the survivor gameplay loop pointless and everything to do with it. So then it creates these squads that their sole purpose is to annoy the killer and break the flow of the game, and then falling back on super strong items and the fact that they're in coms.
I personally can enjoy a quirky squads sometimes but I wouldn't like for it to be incentivised. If you look at gens on paper they might seem boring, but the whole point of gens as I previously stated are tension building machines. DBD used to be a lot more dark and have bad line of sights making gens feel suspensful, and the the killer pool used to be smaller meaning that stealth killer were probably more common to face. Ofcourse gens are boring but not knowing when the killer is coming makes them fun IMO. But the vision of the game has been skewed by super experienced players that have the biggest ego thinking that they should get chases and only them and be put on a pedestal. In a team game where players become ego centric is very boring IMO.
"you can't be bullied if youre destroying the other team" is a super incorrect statement. usually i agree with you on most things, but if a team is going out of their way to make the game unfun then yes thats a bully squad. the "winning = good" mindsight ignores that most people play this game casually.
I mean, being “bullied” is also a matter of perspective towards the game. I have never felt “bullied” on DBD because at the end of the day it’s just a game and no amount of words that some survivor says to me on DBD is gonna make me care. If you’re getting mad at flashlight clicking and teabagging, that is a you problem. If you’re not playing as best as you could, it isn’t you playing poorly, that’s sometimes just the nature of the game.
I’ve gone against Swarm’s team before, and they are absolutely the most fun type of group to go against. They just fuck around with flashlights and go for fun plays and are very patient with their usage of resources; engaging gameplay for you as a killer and for them. Win win all around.
DBD at the end of the day is what you make of it. If you make it out to be a sweatfest and try to win at all costs, you might not be very well-prepared in the face of adversity. If you approach it as a casual game where you care not about results, then you’ll have a more relaxed time and won’t care about being “bullied” or “losing” in DBD
I feel that's a case of "everyone I don't like is Hitler", not only calling people mean but also sometimes doing what they would call mean as well (hitting on hook, slugging for 4 minutes after downing the last survs etc). Yeah it can be frustrating when people tbag and click at you but cmon, ur really just giving into what they want if you get mad

you know what's worse than a bully squad?
a bully duo LMAO
getting in dual lockers and flashlight saving each other over and over again, it may as well be considered holding the game hostage
Thank you for speaking facts
