  1. This is actually quite comparable to Team Fortress 2's situation IMO- Not in severity obviously, because bots invading games is WAY less important than DDOS attacks or actual doxxing, but in cause.

Hacking vulnerabilities exist in the game for a long time, combine with negative community sentiment, and you get a tiny fraction of people, probably no more than a dozen, who suddenly decide "you know what, let's just destroy this fucking game". In DbD, it was only a few weeks ago there was a plague of hackers deliberately ruining streamsniping to grief games. Now they've amped it up to full blown crimes, because they've realized they can get away with it.

  2. New Killer: Hacker
    New Survivor: Guy Faux

I also can't take BHVR seriously about their community when there are thousands of videos of people hacking, reports going unnoticed by them and the toxic gameplay and players.

  3. I don’t know why the dbd community have to be so harsh to behaviour. As someone who’s been in the dbd community for only 2 years they’re a really good studio who do so much. As someone who used to play csgo, league and r6 you should be grateful to have them. Trust me if you played siege you would know how bad Ubisoft is

  4. Could it be possible for BHVR to implement built in protection? Seriously don't giv end the replies about "100k bp for our mistake" I'm being serious, isn't it possible to actually have a VPN of sorts in the game?

  5. I think I’ve been targeted a couple of times but they somehow failed. Some matches I go into kick me out because they say something along the lines of me or a player in the lobby violated the easy anti cheat. I’m just gonna stay off of DBD until I hear something about this shit being fixed. I’m not gonna risk getting DDoS’d. Everyone stay safe.

  6. Pretty sad. Between hackers and DDos attacks, its looking like people want DBD to fail. No one wants to play this game if you cant get into a match, cant get a fair match, or possibly your info leaked and swatted (which is the most dangerous thing compared to the other 2). Just because you arnt a streamer, doesnt mean you cant be affected by this either. Streamers are choosen so they can see their damage, but anyone can be targetted.

DBD needs to fix this before everyone just leaves. The BMR is already ruining the game, but this other stuff is pretty bad.

  7. I was playing with tru3ta1ent on ptb launch night when this happened. All he was trying to do is test out some new gameplay features and instead his connection got ddos'd after only a couple of hours into the ptb. The same thing happened the following night while we were testing the new Overcome perk in a private lobby together which he was trying to record for a youtube video, but because he was streaming it, shortly afterward he got ddos'd again. The people doing this clearly wanted a reaction from him, but instead he just addressed it was a shame and that he would have to go back to playing live servers. Not sure if it's happened since then, but I really hope bhvr sort this out for the safety of their entire community, and for the future reputation of their company.

  8. And this is why I never play a online game without connecting to my OVH I made to prevent DDOS attacks it filters the bots so nothing happens to your connection if you get DDOS’d

  9. Well… I'm always happy I get the incompetent hackers. Apparently I was doxed before, yet they threw someone else's name around, I guess trying to scare me. Couldn't even get my name right. Such people try to drop information, yet it's always the wrong information. In GTA Online, some guy said he was going to ddos me, and would reveal my IP address. I'm… still waiting for that. That was months ago from a guy who was using invincibility hacks in GTA Online and acting tough in the server.

I mean I guess I should be glad that I only get the baby hackers. I just always seem to get the low effort people. Even when I get scam calls, they don't put in much effort. I had a guy just give up in the middle of the scam call and just start throwing insults, laughing. He sounded high. I don't know why I attract these kinds of people.
