Well today I was pointed to this exclusive interview that Dead By Daylight did with Newsweek. This is part 2 of the Newsweek article with the exclusive interview with creative director Dave Richard of Dead By Daylight. In this article Dave discusses what his dream licenses are and how he doesn’t like to say what his dream licenses are because he doesn’t want to get anyone’s hopes up when they are unable to deliver. Let’s read the article together.

Wait! What? It’s like he just said “I don’t want to reveal my wish list because I don’t want to get your hopes up in case we can’t get that license, but Stephen King stuff is on my wish list.”

Did he just confirm something Stephen King is coming? Probably not. I’m probably reading too much into it.

But I do think something BIG is coming for the anniversary chapter. Something at least as big as Ringu, maybe bigger.

Ringu is the original novel by writer Kōji Suzuki and Kadokawa Publishing in Japan. You may know this property better as The Ring, the North American film adaptation where Sadako Yamamura became Samara Morgan on the silver screen alongside Rachel Keller (played by Naomi Watts). But this license definitely is the Japanese version.

  2. Stephen King hates the videogames, any SK chapter is imposible, fortnite is the greatest game of the moment and just got some smalls references(to promove the movie).
    Better just dream with Jason, Chucky and Xenomorph, they have a chance.

  6. I would LOVE to see Randall Flagg as the killer and Roland Deschain as survivor. I'm a huge fan of the "Dark Tower" book series. Quite a few Stephen King characters/villains has crossed over in the "Dark Tower" series in one way or another. It would be amazing to see a variety of survivors/killers from that series.

  12. I’m hoping for the Shining chapter. It’s one of my favorite movies so it would be so cool! Just running though the overlook hotel would be amazing!! To see room 237(217 if book), the gold room, the Colorado room(where Jack types), the kitchen, the hedge maze(playground and animal bushes if book) would be so cool!

  14. I would love to see them implement The Mist as a killer, it could be a very unique killer compared to the others in the game.

    I think it could work as you don’t play as a set character, but more so move around the fog as a invisible figure with a terror radius, and you could summon one of the mist creatures and take control of that creature. And maybe you could switch between a smaller version of the giant mantis, the spiders, etc.

  17. Jack Torrence will always be my number 1 choice for the killer in DBD if they manage to get a Stephen King character and if they are able to get the likeness of jack Nicholson from the movie then its gonna be 10/10 for me

  18. I'm a huge King fan and have been making my way through his library over the past decade. I've even gone to see his house in Bangor a couple times. That being said, an SK chapter is what I've been wanting since day one of playing this game. I honestly can't think of anything as deserving for an anniversary chapter. Long days and pleasant nights.

  29. I think Carrie would be so cool as a killer. Such a classic horror film and it's been remade twice!! Not to mention it's Stephen King's first novel and first film adaption. How is that not iconic?? We could also have 70s prom cosmetics for everyone 😅
