Dead by Daylight isn’t a pay to win game and I’m sick of people thinking it is. Have you never played a pay to win game before? Do you understand the claim you are making here? Do you just not want to get stuff for free? Nice, me too!

Full Disclosure, I lost two games as M1 Machete man. Not as impressive as 5 in a row, but enough to prove a point. This isn’t supposed to be overly impressive. You can 100% do the same thing to. Analyze the survivors, crate a deadzone, hook survivors in that deadzone, and trade survivors inside that deadzone until someone is out of the game. After that it really doesn’t matter what you do.

You should give it a try, it really helps with your fundamentals.

  1. I mean you could make the point that you could upgrade killers you dont have to get their perks but you still wouldnt be able to play them wchich would kinda solve a small part of the issue, but yeah its common sense that they cant release licensed chapters for free

  2. personally i dont think the game is pay to win however after moving from console to pc and them not having data transfer for some reason getting everything back is a slog and really should be sped up

  3. Even if dbd is pay to win almost every original killer and survivor is now at a 50 discount permanently, and even then meta isnt needed. Also respect to you for playing trapper, i cant play them but can play twins somehow well without slowdowns

  4. Just play the game a ton. If you wanna complain so much meanwhile knowing full well that you have 6000+ hours and that you flex it. If anything they should grind a ton. It gives a real incentive to play a ton. And also everyone wants to flex hours so why not get hours? You need some reason to get like 4k hours so why not make it grinding for characters or perks?

  5. The game has always not been pay to win, the game is just so unreasonably tedious for most people that it is faster to buy then to grind. Its pay to have more variety and fun faster. (And grind of course).

  6. Iri shards by just leveling up (can't buy shards)

Blood points by just doing challenges and playing every game (can't buy blood points)

Offerings to boost said blood points that aren't really rare even in categories you excell at for playstyles (can't buy offerings only earn)

Sales that even reduce Iri shard costs

And as of recent, newer players can get the older DLC for permanently less, cell wise and Iri shard wise (permanently reduced money and earnable cost)

The community shows time and time again, perkless runs exist and are winnable

Examples of the good practices the game has overall with a sprinkle of the community contradicting themselves

Also about the grind thing, I got the game a year ago, I have all but two killers and all earned with shards (besides licensed killers) I don't need Trickster or Twins anytime soon lmao

  7. My idea of “pay to win” is if the best character takes literally no skill and is super braindead, because most of the characters in this game take some amount of thinking to win, and plus the grind to prestige each killer to get the right perks is still there
