I don’t think Alien and Chucky failed because stats didn’t leap up like they did for RE. Those are great chapters. The game has just matured to a point where a new killer isn’t as much of a draw, as everyone knows it’s going to be broadly the same as other killers with a few tweaks. I think a new game mode will be what DBD needs to draw more people back, out of curiosity.
Also, maybe RE does so well because fans of that franchise can’t play as the villains in its own franchise so DBD offers them something new. But there are many, many games with ALIEN and in some you can play as the xenomorph too. So it wasn’t as much of a draw. But that doesn’t explain Chucky – but then I think the popularity of Chucky is a little overstated, as the films are more niche than a lot of other horror franchises like Halloween etc.
rofl funny stuff too is…. stuff from survivors get deactivated… like 2 times flashlights, or the perk from jeff… the hook that gets destroyed after unhooking a surv. and the perk from yui with the pallets (sry german player xD idk all english names) why dont they deactivate noed and play thing, lets be honest about the most main killers… they would only be happy with a 100% kill rate they dont care about survivors, they only care about themself, again not all but many many many killers do, thats why they tunnel and use bugged sht…
I agree with the guy who emailed you. Stop acting like player police, when the devs are the ACTUAL problem.
Regarding Made for This and Distortion:
– Made For This was basically busted prior to its nerf, especially against slower killers and when stacked with other movement speed buffs like Hope. That perk definitely deserved its nerf, no question in my mind. It's not like killers have the option to avoid chasing survivors to win, so a perk that gave survivors a significant movement speed boost in most chases was simply too good. (Just like how Save the Best for Last is currently too good for killers for a similar reason and why it's getting adjusted soon as well.)
– Distortion is fine as is in my opinion. Yes, it hard counters aura perks, but so what? You literally don't need to run an aura perk at all as killer and can do just fine without them. In fact if you don't run an aura perk as killer, then Presto!, you've effectively made the Distortion perk completely useless on any survivor who ran it against you. Even if you feel you need extra help from a perk to find survivors, there are plenty of information perks that don't rely on auras of varying effects (e.g. perks that make survivors scream, Whispers, Spies from the Shadows, perks that highlight generators which are being worked on, Bloodhound, etc). And even if you do run an aura perk, unless most or all of the survivors run Distortion you WILL still get value out of your auras off the survivors that didn't run it.
So no, I don't think Distortion needs to be nerfed personally. If there is a significant statistical advantage from running Distortion over other good perks then, sure, tweak it a bit to balance it out, but I definitely don't put it in the same category as pre-nerf Made For This.
