On their 6th Anniversary livestream, Dead By Daylight laid out their plans for the future on how they plan to change overhaul about 40 perks this Summer! They talked about shifting the META (Most Effective Tactics Available) for both killer and survivor!
Well on Friday Dead By Daylight tweeted the image of 39 perks that are currently under construction and promising more details about the upcoming changes next week. This means we can probably expect to see the changes tested in the next PTB (public test build) and most likely implemented in the next mid chapter patch in a few weeks. Not all of these will be nerfs but most certainly some will be nerfs. But there will be many buffs too. I’m excited to see what’s changing? How about you?

They don't have to go far to make self-care a unused perk if they nerf it again. It's already bad enough that it takes you 5 years to heal if a killer has sloppy butcher. Spine Chill needs a buff. The only reason why DS and BT are meta is because camping and tunneling is meta, Barbecue and wgtlf are only used because of the extra BP they offer. Noed is the most crutch killer perk in the game it should have a condition on it so killers can't stand in a corner all game and doing then get a 4k because a survivor missed 1 totem. I would make iron will work for all sounds a survivor emits, coughing on the ground etc. I would nerf Pops duration but up it's regression so it's more of a use it or lose it perk
I'm excited for all these changes. I'm looking to change up my build and none of my perks are on here.
Perks are only meta because there's no other perks that offer the same value as that perk or because it's counter the playstyle of the killer or the survivor. You want BT and DS not to be meta either make a better perk that has the same effect or get rid of the reason they're meta. Perks don't become the meta because they're good they become meta because they're the only thing a survivor or killer has to rely on. There's a lot of good perks that are never used because they don't help a killer to prevent survivors from escaping or helping survivors escape. Like Adrenaline is a great perk but useless throughout the entire trial until the last gen is popped and I would say around 50-75% never get that far
Do whatever you want…but please don't nerf Iron Will. That is my main perk.
I’m scared to see the player rate drop tbh… if they don’t do this properly, I can imagine a lot of people will stop playing… I hope that is not the case. I’m excited to see more info next week.
I could see dead hard being something like Coup de Gras that does what it does but on a token system
Tbh, I use NOED a lot even though most of the time I don't need it. I honestly don't think that it's all that strong. Especially if the survivors decide to look for the totem. I honestly hope it gets buffed because it's only strong as long as it's active.
People need to stop complaining about NOED being "too strong" even if it's really not that strong. Just look for the totem when the killer isn't around. Yes, it can still be up if the killer's running Undying, but if I remember correctly, Small Game and Counter Force counter totems.
I'm scared. I always use 3 of those survivor perks and I'm not comfortable playing without them…
DS is the most changed perk

I bought Sole survivor from the shrine of secrets because why not its getting a buff lol hopefully its good
if they ruin killers gen defense but do nothing against core gen speed I'll never touch killer again. it's already absolutely unfun and lose almost every single match.
They need to delete the King and Queen of Crutch perks: NOED and DS. Just remove them. They're just going to nerf them until nobody uses them (e.g. Mettle of Man).
I just wanna see a Lightweight buff. One of the first perks I played and I still wanna see viable stealth perks for those not so great escapers 🙂 Would love to see teams score together instead of individually. So sacrifices and doing gens would be more attractive when killers camp hard in a team. Could make low level gameplay more rewarding and unhooking wouldn't be the only way to rank up.
I see it the way that 2 deaths is a tie for example. Everything else is either a win for the killer or the survivors.
looking for some old perks like light weight and calm spirt getting a buff. I am assuming at least not sure if they could ever been more nerfed or lame.

I'm so excited, so many of them that I hope become something different entirely because I am so sick of seeing it every game I play. Frankly, been so bored of it that I stopped playing for awhile, but seeing this makes me want to play again.
Recently, I have been strictly using fun, unique builds when not grinding for specific challenges. While I do have fun with these perks, when it becomes tiresome because I get pounded by killers who play a certain way, it pushes me to use the meta perks like dead hard, borrowed time, and decisive strike for a brief period so that for example in this event I can actually obtain a decent amount of bloodpoints. That is the only reason I worry. To no longer have the option to feel capable of competing against killers that do choose to tunnel/proxy camp in order to receive the 4k or whatever the goal is. I understand that some of these perks need reworking, but they can't gut survivor completely the same way they can't gut killer. I personally think the actual gameplay meta is the real underlying issue with perks being portrayed as the main issue. Years ago, many people will see a loop and stay there in hopes of winning the mind game long enough to succeed in a long chase. Nowadays, given the sheer amount of oppressive chase killers introduced. It has pushed the meta to be more about gen efficiency and holding W. SBM could also be to blame slightly as prior there would always be those 1 or 2 survivors that weren't as polished as the rest. Allowing killers to commit to chases without throwing games. Just my thoughts.
I'm happy to see all of these get changed, the only one I'm worried about is BBQ. It's my favorite, and sometimes i feel lost when I don't have that aura reading…
