Today the Dead By Daylight devs provided us with Part 1 of the January Developer update. This part focuses on things they’re working on in the future, such as updating matchmaking (MMR/SBMM), changing the solo survivor experience, as well as changing wiggling to make the game more accessible for all!

AND in the future after this mid chapter update comes out for everyone in a couple weeks, they’ll be introducing a BETA tab that ALL players can opt into. This means that players on every platform will be able to test SOME features early. In the past all changes were PTB (Public Test Build) for Steam players only! This won’t allow console players to test everything early, there will still be PTB’s but some things everyone will be able to test with this Beta tab feature. So a step in the right direction. Speaking of the PTB, it starts on Wednesday, January 5th!

Here’s the link to the forum blog post if you want to read it yourself: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/302821

What do you think of these changes? What do you like or dislike the most? Let me know! Happy New Year!

I know that many people are frustrated with the amount of hackers they’re seeing in game right now and there is a wish amongst the community that the devs would address this matter publicly. Here’s to hoping they are working on things behind the scenes and have a plan to clean up our game and make it fair for everyone.

Thanks for watching!

  2. I loved the no-more-hold action button feature!!
It's just like the old glitch when we paused the game to keep repairing the generators
That was so useful and I was sad that they patched it out

Now they're turning that in a feature! I loved it!!!

  3. Just let us hold a button down to wiggle. I just don't understand why they want to replace an annoying feature with an even more annoying feature. I can see a lot of people getting pissed when they missed a skill check that costs them a hook or a death when the entire team is blocking to save you because of frame rate or delay.

  4. It would be great 2 killer vs 6 survs or 8 for give to KILLERS the experience of team it would be atractive for players as KILLERS and survs all people love to play as surv we need KILLERS so this is a good strategy for get KILLERS and not waiting a Lot for find a killer or get stones Gallbladder as killer, for survs just give new movements of expressions and all we gonna be happy as killer it would b great too

  5. I hope the improvements of the MMR/SBMM will make a positive difference in the game and they really try to make it more balanced. I just find that it is more of a hassle and problem for the game than it being a positive balanced contribution.

  6. Hacking? I've always believe crazy stuff goes on. Why as a killer, a survivor runs without any form of closing the gap. A killer knows where everyone's at without the required perks. Are players actually cheating to get countless bloodpoints, cells, and shards? I know a website claiming this hack. Links to what you've seen? Please? Thanks for the 411!

  7. Not knowing and running certain perks if 3 do want to know is what makes solo queue fun for me. I'm a solo only player but I would like to see solo queue only lobbies as an option in the menus

  8. Paulie: "But I genuinely do care about the other people in the community" – as if this ever needed to be said!
Paulie, your whole content is about making people feel included and informed, your videos got me into playing DBD! I doubt anyone out there thinks you don't want what's best for the DBD community as a whole and it's obvious that you care about the game, BHVR devs and players equally, always calling out any injustice that may happen on either side.
Keep doing what you do and thank you for keeping us informed and adding clarifications to these dev notes! 🙏❤

  9. They will add this 'survivor communication' and see kill rates drop by at least 30%. Kindred was and is the best soloq perk for a reason.

I am already doing gens with just a mouse (You can bind skillchecks to mouse 5 for example)

  10. Great info Paulie thanks! Solo Q experience does suck sometimes which is why I bring info perks like Kindred when I play but, an icon next to other players letting the team know what they are doing would be so helpful.

  11. Not that bad of idea changes. Doesn't seem favoring of survivors either. I feel with the idea seeing what others are doing could be implemented when only a survivor is hooked, and it'll have a cog, sprint emoji, or totem emoji, or having cross to show what they are doing. And the toggle seems fair when cleansing. I'm also intrigued on the wiggle meter twist

  12. I don’t play with teams …I did at first but ppl are too toxic and after a while I got tired of it so now I play solo. Looking forward to the solo player features I hope they do get implemented.

  13. To my mind the "Skillcheck for Wiggle" should be optional :/
It's kinda boring when everything in this game is a skillcheck. Furthermore felt the "Press Buttons quickly to struggle on Hook" more like a fight for your life than just big skillchecks here and there.
(But i get it that this thing is intended to not wear and tear the same buttons)

  14. that whole solo survivor deal nah.. that's what the perks are for.. if you want to know what others are doing then use perks that allow it.. is that not the point.. and for the people that are going to say well i don't want to run those perks.. then that's on you… I personally use bond and premonition LOL I know where EVERYBODY is for the most part and what yall doing.. killer included.. its very hard for me to be seen never mind killed bout 70% of the time… I only really get killed because of someone else.. but yeah to change the game because people don't pick certain perks is nonsense

  15. I don't think i'll want to use the press one button do gen thing. Might result in more grabs off a generator if ur going against a sneaky killer, but good for those that do want it. I do like the wiggle part though so im definately happy there.

  16. These are all kind of interesting… One thing though. I don't think that displaying on the hud what each survivor is doing will change much with solo queue at all. The same thing was supposed to happen with the little ticks that indicate hook states. It was intended to make it so that survivors know who is in danger of being sacrificed so that the team can play around that, but I still constantly have teammates in solo queue who will either run the killer straight to me when I'm on death hook or will just straight up sandbag me in trying to save themselves, knowing that it means game over for me. No one wants to assist a stranger because people have no faith that solo teammates will help anyone but themselves. And sadly that's normally how it goes.
