  1. When a survivor makes a good save or play i used to get mad. It used to make me despise playing killer, but once I got better at the game i calmed down and am more impressed with the survivors than anything. I'll say "oh that was a good play" or "damn i didn't see that flashlight coming that was good". I know good survivors when I go up against them and give them the credit and not getting mad at them for being "toxic".

Kind of related to that when I was playing survivor against a legion and bodyblocked the hook to save my teammate, he said bodyblocking was against the rules and was going to report me. Bodyblocking teammates yes is bad, bodyblocking the killer from a hook tho?

  2. I don't really get angry at the survivors, I get frustrated by the game and do my best to counter them, but I don't blame people for trying to win. Equally, I don't think they should get angry at me for potentially frustrating tactics.

Anyone who says the game is super unbalanced right now is just plain wrong. There are some perks that could use tweaking, map RNG that can be pretty unfair, but on the whole, the game is probably the best balanced it's ever been. I say that as someone who mainly plays M1 killers; I'm a Pig main. Yes there are some matches where a 4K is just impossible no matter what I do, but it's usually possible to 2K or 3K if I play well.

I first started playing during the longest and most oppressive survivor meta of DH for distance + Decisive Strike + Unbreakable + Borrowed Time. Old hatch mechanics. Every killer interaction being 10% slower than it is now. Old BNP. THAT shit was unfair; if the survivors were even moderately skilled they could completely steamroll you no matter how good you were. Now a'days that's just not the case.

  3. People often insult me in endgame chat for tunneling and not choosing to sacrifice them on death hook. For some reason, Some survivors get on their high horse for me letting them escape and prolong the round. Could have ended then anytime, I do play Wesker after all. Killer mains can be toxic but survivors are the majority while the killer toxicity is the minority. Never once have I heard a killer insult me when I’m a survivor, not unless they are provoked in the chat first. Nor have I insulted survivors, most killer mains just either move on or suffer in silence. They expect the killers to follow some made-up rules. Play how you want to play, but don’t force players to play a certain way on a game they’d paid for and the killers they paid for. Tunneling and camping are not against any official rules. Off-topic but I just need to type out my anger. I know I’m a hypocrite for saying this but people need to stop getting angry at this game. It’s just a game. Sure some rounds will be an ass for 1 side but that’s not every game. I had a dude Yap about how I was horrible for 30 minutes on steam chat while I was finishing the round. I got him out in 4 minutes. Some people these days man.

  4. You hit the nail on the head with almost all your takes. I genuinely don’t know how anyone can stand interacting with people on the internet on a regular basis. The absolute flood of mindnumbingly stupid comments on every video and post is enough to make your brain leak out your ear

  5. 2:30 they nerfed DS after buffing it last update so is basicaly just normal DS again and one of the other Survivor perk was yes nerfed but they realy needed to add another ability to that perk after the nerf, not saying the game is survivor sided, the update is survivor sided or anything but lets not talk like the nerf to killers perk and survivor perks was the same in that update

  6. Thank you for that last bit on SWF. It is rare to be in a full stack, at most I am in a 2, & as you noted we are rarely doing anything but talking about life or making stupid jokes. The kind of callouts they assume we're doing require way too much time & care to learn anyway 💀the most we do is "I'm in a pallet" which one? Idk, whatever is left.

  8. The only time I ever bleed someone out while playing killer is if the survivor is abusing flip flop/boil over/boon exponential on dead dog saloon or the game. I don't mind watching them bleed out while the rest of the gens get done, they were being a wiener.

  9. DBD is both an unbalanced nightmare, but also equally balanced. It is more balanced than it was in the past, but it's still very much unbalanced in many ways… but it is so unbalanced that it's actually oddly balanced because both sides have things skewing more so in their favor than the other. I just think that most of the people that say the game is abhorrently unbalanced are the type of people that are sore losers and sore winners on both sides and try their hardest to validate their short comings by blaming the balance of the game or tactics that are used by the other side that they struggle to counter.

  10. Don't take anything said here personally, the killer/survivor split in this community is overwhelmingly favouring survivor (By necessity, if it didn't queues would take forever), so this is your standard DBD content creator basically prostrating themselves to the survivor mains in hopes of currying their favour. All DBD content creators must engage in this ritual regularly.

  11. my only real hot take is that map offering are kind of cheap, otherwise i may let out a groan after getting blinded several times, but i dont really like to call intended mechanics brainless. i play quite casually, even when i do get a team who sends me to a certain map, im usually happy with just one killed, cause i know i played well and they just stacked the deck against me. i feel people who claim the high ground or blame the survivors perks or items or whatnot, have been attached to the copium machine for so long they literally cant live without it anymore.

  12. I've got 0 problem playing killers that are less than A tier (Trapper, Ghostface, Myers) mostly if I use the right perks however i've noticed that sometimes there's nothing i can do when going against SWF or just very gen efficient survivors whilst playing Chaos Shuffle.

  13. People who say that the current dbd is survivor sided, never played the winter event 2021.
    – Dead Hard was press E to "unfuck up" your misplay or to make an extra lap.
    – Circle of Healing did the same thing it does today, but it also gave everyone a free self-care.
    – Medkits were at their strongest.
    – Portrait of a Murder brought Boon: Exponential and the original RPD with an infamous library room was still there.
    – And on top of that there were snowmen. And noo! The Killers couldn't hide in them, only the survivors. And you know what?! If a survivor was in the snowman HE/SHE. COULD. SIMPLY. TAKE. A FREE. HIT. Simply jump into one in chase and take a hit. The Killer is in his weapon wiping animation and you have time to get to the pallet/window.
It was the worst time to be a killer main.

    [EDIT]
Ohhh… I almost forgot that it was before the legendary 6.1.0 meta shake-up and killer buffs in general!
    – Gens took 80 seconds to repair instead of 90!
    – The weapon wiping animation took longer.
    – The breaking animation was also longer.
    – Survivors had a longer speed boost after getting injured.

  14. Tunneling on kiler, at least the weaker ones, is acrually not that strong. It's more of a gamle if the surv has anti tunnel perks, because if they do, and they are good, it might be 5 gens gone before they're dead. These are thr exact games when the killer in postgame chat accuses the survs of gen rushing, but they got to realize that they built NO pressure from just chasing and camping the same guy for six minutes.

  15. The only kind of toxic im into when playing killer is refusing to kill someone that tries to rq by killing themself on hook, spaming slide or vault somewhere for attention or running straight back at me so i 3rd hook them.
    I'll down them.
    But i'll leave them there.
I don't care if someone leaves the game if they aren't feeling it rn, regardless which side i play.
But then at least man up and take the penalty you deserve.
Im not gonna reward you for being an anti teammate by also enabling you to get out asap and without a penalty.
You will stay on the ground until the very last second before you'd bleed out.
And i'll enjoy every second of it.
I also switch targets mid chase if someone is sandbagging a teammate or afks in corners for legit 15 minutes instead of just playing the game out like their last teammate alive even if theres no shot at winning.
I will let those go who never give up even if the odds r straight impossible to win and give an extra life to those being trolled by teammates.
I enforce fair ground since the game doesnt care to.

  16. I find this game unbalanced due to 3 killers blight nurse and pinhead im a p87 pinhead main and i havent been counting how many wins in a row i have had but its too many i feel like not enough people talk about how op pinhead is when you fully understand box logic if you can find the box at the start of the game "its easy just use lethal" then the game can end very very quickly

  17. As a killer main I agree with some of your points. But a good comp team, be it 2 or 4 man team. Is overpowered at times. Even a good nurse would would have a very hard time with a comp team in play. Even otzdarva has pointed this out. Especially if they are running perks that stack on each other. When u have a baby killer going against a ok comp team. The odds of the baby killer is alot of the times against the killer. Behavior needs to do something about it. My idea is to have SWF teams have there own lobbies. with killer mains that want to play against SWF teams. both sides get double blood points. Because I'm trying to vibe as killer, yet survivors I get are sweety from the start of the match which gets me pissed off. I do play both sides. I do let ppl go, if I'm beating the other team to much.

  18. I definitely agree with pretty much all of this.
I had a game the other day where one of the survivors was tbagging at every chance, spam vaulting to get my attention ect, and I didn't think anything of it until they started being an ass in the post game. I've seen people play in ways people consider "toxic" just for the fun of it, and that's all it is.
That survivor also said I was a tryhard or whatnot for not giving hatch to someone. Aside from going for an achievement (Adept Knight), I'm just usually not one to give hatch. There's something so satisfying about clutching the hatch away from someone.

Only thing I disagree with is that I do personally think the game is survivor sided, but I dont think it's because BHVR actually favors them. I think that's just how the balance of the game is. And I don't think it's a problem (in modern times, it's def more balanced than ever before) because of how disadvantaged a group of solo que survivors usually are.
The 4 survivors are supposed to equal the killer, but I think it's more accurate to say 3 survivors equal the killer, or something similar to that. Just to account for that one guy who kills themselves on first hook, sandbags, dcs, or just generally brings the team down.

  19. Maybe it's gonnab e a point in "dear survivor mains", but still. I know people who think that if you tunnel and camp, you simply "can't play like a normal person" and "use dogshit strategies to win instead of actually LeArNiNg how to play". One of such people claim himself to be a killer main, that "know how to play without this noob strategies". And really… am I the only one who understand that understanding when and how to camp and tunnel isn't a noob knowledge?

  21. In all honestly as a mostly killer main (unless my friends decide they want to play the game, Once in a blue moon moment), I've found the game much more fun playing honourably and just being chill, I'm not good enough at the game to win more than half my matches and I don't play enough to grind out all the unlocks.

Just trying to play and have fun the way I want to is enough for me and honestly since doing so I've had a lot less negative interactions, Is it a viable way of playing, No but it's fun for me and that's all that matters.

  22. swf comment is very true. i usually play survivor in swf, and 90% of the time were just talking about random shit not even slightly related to the game. the other 10% is usually just "wow, im juicing this killer like a lemon" or something due to a mildly impressive play. most swfs are just using dbd as interactive background noise for their conversation. believe it or not, when people play games with their friends, theyd rather treat it like a game than like a job. if it feels like youre getting beaten out by some insane comp squad, you probably have never gone against or seen a true comp squad. the worst youll see from your average swf is saying its a stealth killer before each individual survivor gets to see them, or the person on the hook calling out camping. most swfs are just average people, when people get together to play a board game, they dont spend the entire talking about the board game unless its a social one like mafia or pandemic, because most people enjoy talking about fun stuff when theyre with their friends. ive found that a good number of swfs tend to play a lot chiller, because their enjoyment of the game extends beyond their own self interest.

  23. Rotten fields is not a killer sided map, that map literally was statistically the most survivor sided map in the game at one point and still has a very high escape rate.

But yeah. I have no idea why people will ever defend 4 man bleedouts. Slugging 4 people because they’re all grouping around you for the save or saboing? Fine. Actually bleeding them out instead of hooking after the fact? Get a life, how is that even fun for anyone.

Also the whole fucking sneering attitude towards people who tunnel or whatever is just… why? Survivors play to win, you may as well play to win too. Not tunnelling is a personal issue.

  26. Completely agree with this. I play both sides and hearing both sides moan almost every game get boring like I get it killer can be hard due to gen speeds and survivor can be hard due to shit team mates (mmr) but holy just stfu and go next like I had a survivor message me I'm twitch dms saying I'm shit and I should kms because I killed them by proxi camping emdgame…. then I play survivor and a killer viewer shames me because they got annoyed due to loosing the match…. it makes no sense. Is there problems with the game, like gens and mmr, that needs to be fixed? Yes. But should the players take their anger out on the opponent(s)? No because it's not their fault it's the games fault. I'll be honest, I barely see killers complaining or dming me but when they do, they always complain about the stupid stuff you listed in the video which is a skill issue on their end. Survivors tho holy they're entitled af 😂. In the last 8 days alone, I've had 12 Survivors either xbox message me or twitch dms or even coming into stream saying slurs and stuff which is just unacceptable. Anyways imma stop taking whilst I've just essayed (sorry about the essay).

  29. 5:40 this so fucking much, like I always bring this up in that particular discussion. Survivors rarely go easy on the killer and are never expected to. Only the killer has this weird unwritten expectation to play suboptimally, and in some cases, actually throw if the game is going well. You are not "better" or "more honorable" than other killers if you play that way.

  30. Honestly when it comes to balancing, if the person only plays one side their opinion when it comes to nerfs and buffs are automatically thrown out the window, because they don't even know how the other side plays or even understand the difficulties they experienced from killers or survivors

    Reply
  31. DBD, or any "Asymmetrical" game will always be best balanced in a skewed fashion.
DBD is a 1v4 game, thus, to actually balance it the side with less players needs to innately be more powerful.
It's survived as long as it has because BHVR understands this and tries to keep the balance skewed at about a 60%-70% in favor of killer. Ultimately, 65%~ would be optimal balance for the game, as it would be 5% easier for the solo player per extra opponent they need to defeat.

This is only in terms of raw convenience for the solo player versus the team, not including skill and other variables. The more you inconvenience the solo player or more you give convenience to the team, the more imbalanced the game will be. The same can be said about giving too much convenience to the solo and not enough to the team.

I'm gonna propose some "Fixes" to issues I as a killer only player have seen.

Antislug: While all remaining survivors are downed, after remaining downed for longer than 10 seconds, all survivors can pick themselves up into the injured state by filling their recovery meter. During endgame collapse, this disables. If plot twist was used to go into the dying state, this effect does not activate.
Anticamp: When a survivor is unhooked, they gain endurance. Additionally, if the killer stays within a close proximity to the hooked survivor for an extended period of time, then that survivor can unhook themself instantly and gain endurance. With the exception of if the survivor unhooked themself from anti-camp, the endurance is disabled during endgame.
Windows of Opportunity/Zan-shin Tactics: Vaulting a window or pallet or dropping a pallet while in chase disables this perk for 45 seconds. Whenever you are unhooked, this perk's cooldown is refreshed, allowing immediate usage. For killer, this perk disables for 45 seconds on injuring a survivor by any means, and immediately refreshes whenever a survivor is unhooked.
Bots: When a survivor disconnects, they are replaced with a bot. When this occurs, the bot loses one hook state. If this would cause the bot to run out of hook states, instead the survivor drops dead where they stand.

The antislug change is to prevent full-team slugging, but also is limited so that it cannot be abused by survivors. We're soon getting a quality-of-life change allowing the killer to freely mori the last survivor in a trial, regardless of hook states, which would make slugging the last survivor serve no purpose.
As it is the current anticamp endurance is too skewed in survivor favor during the end of the match, and thus it would be disabled once the collapse begins unless the killer directly camps the hook. Nothing else changes about it.
Windows of Opportunity gives too much information to survivors, and equally too much to the killer using Tactics. A cooldown would limit this knowledge to bring it in line with other aura reading perks for both sides.
Bots are not players, and thus have more knowledge than players do, such as optimal pathing or 'seeing' killers and survivors through any obstacles. For this reason, their value to a team of real people is extremely high; so to dampen it and lessen the positive effect of having a bot on the team, they automatically have only 2 hook states instead of 3.

  32. 4 Man slugs are built into a few killers kits, mainly Oni and Twins. I think when you say 4 man bleedouts is cringe you moreso mean for most killers. Often times you will get bad survivors and you just so happen to be a good snowballing killer, where you down someone and before picking up you see them lurking for flashlight or pallet saves and once you have 3 people slugged on the ground, which I will admit is rare on any killer, if you see the fourth survivor it doesn't make sense not to chase them. When it comes to bleeding them out, the only good reason to do this is if you have them all 4 on the ground, but you know where the one with the longest bleedout timer is and you really want the win without hoping they don't crawl to hatch because you didn't know where they were, whether it be for an adept, which I have done this exact thing for before, or for an archive challenge like "Kill x survivors by any means". I do admit that making not hooking and going for 100% bleedouts your game plan before the match starts is a bit annoying, but it definitely has reasons to do that are not super rare.

C/T/S leads to really bad snowballs and really unfun gameplay. But hey, play how you want 🤷🏾

  34. There is a difference when a survivor is using his flashlight to save his teammate and a 4-man SWF-squad with flashlights and bs perks who que up just to troll the killer.
Now normally i wouldn't care about this or a loss.
However there is an issue – i need bloodpoints to unlock stuff.
And these guys are preventing me from obtaining as much bloodpoints as i can just because they want to be a bunch of assholes.
Which will force me to grind more bloodpoints and potentially encountering another SWF-bully squad again.

    This is fucking DRAINING.
