Operation Health was a season that fixed some of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege’s most prominent issues. Would Dead by Daylight benefit from its own Operation Health patch?

  1. Operation health wasn't actually 3 months, it was 3 months taken away from a potential new dlc drop meaning the previous expansion dropped 3 months prior and then operation health also lasted 3 months meaning there was actually no new content in the game for half a year. Most people disliked this at the time because they were getting bored with the same meta for that long but after a year or so the player base realized how essential operation health was for the foundation of R6.

  2. The rewriting of code NEEDS to happen. Dbd still works on the old code from the time it realised and the devs gained so much more expirance over the years. If they did that not only would the games size decrease MASSIVELY it would also eliminate all these bugs. So yeah this and mmr would be the thing I would want for that. It could even be longer then 3 months for all I care, they just need to fix the game up

  3. I was always criticizing riot super hard. But once I started playing dbd i came to acknowledge all the stuff rito is doing for us. Like dumb stuff of graves cigar, star guardian urgot or else.
They improved servers, prevented ddosing, have a good cheat prevention, I mean I have never seen any league hacker. Dbd on the other hand…
Only thing rito sucks at is punishing inters and saboteurs in ranked games.

  4. Operation health definitely needed. Don't take 3 months, take a year. No more characters, there are way more than enough at the moment. If anything, the game needs a new game mode. But fix the bugs ,desync and lag. Also change SBMM completely, it's shit at the moment and has been since they started trying to make anything MMR related because they don't take into consideration the right things when it comes to what skill actually is and means in DBD.

  5. I'll play DBD seriously again if they devs show a modicum of care for overall game health. DBD's current design philosophy is one of needless graphical updates, releasing chapters that almost always get mixed reception, and skins. I understand they need to continue to create content, because even if they don't say it, DBD is a live service game. If that's the case though they need to start taking that seriously and hire more staff to reflect the work flow of a live service game.

  6. At the pace BHVR works they might need 6 months to a year lol. They should definitely get rid of the spaghetti-code and work on a new foundation for the game that allows them to do more in the future.

The spaghetti-code they have now is wasting so much development time because thing break every update due to it. They fix bugs and somehow unrelated things happen like killer sound breaking, perks breaking, killer power issues,… it's like playing whack-a-mole and its unefficient as fuck.

It is quite apparent they are hitting their limit when it comes to variety aswell. Latest new killer powers have been variants of other killer powers. They might have to make a big change to the general gameplay soon to allow themselves to be more creative with killer powers and maybe even survivor objectives.

  7. i want them to fix everything related to bugs, hitboxes and hit validation and get better security… i stopped playing (i mostly play a week and then quit the game for months because it's just not fun at all) bc of wonky hit validation and hackers. it's just not fun, even if new skins/characters are released.

  8. I’ve been playing rainbow since it came out and health made a great change to rainbow for people to feel comfortable while playing deadbydaylight would jus have to do that because they have a great game that doesn’t deserve to die

  9. kill mmr and bring the old ranking system. mmr makes a lot of killer mains sweat a lot more, and a lot of survivors play not very altruistic and safe. its so boring. back in the days when i hit rank 1 as killer and survivor i could goof around after that, and dont affect my future games that much. make stupid overaltruistic plays, sacrifice myself for another team mate, and still get okish teammates in the next match. now its such a stupid mix of god players, hiding in the bush claudettes, gamers with 30 hrs in the game etc. and you have to be afraid if you dont escape getting even worse teammates. and the killers are also like bots with 100 hrs, not mindgaming anything, spinnable or just tryhards camping the first surv to death and going for a ez one after that. idk…imo before that it was more of a community, party game…now its just boring

  10. My Operation health for dbd would be:

-fix the disconnect penalty for punishing players by getting a penalty when their game actually crashes, dedicated servers should literally detect this issues and this scenario shouldn't exist. No one should be penalized for bad servers.

    -No more perk tiers

-rework dead hard, either give it the speed boost or dodge frames, probably better to go with speed boost cuz dodge frames with these servers cause problems as you saw with Nemesis' tentacle interaction where it would hit the survivor or break the pallet.

-Have a ptb that anyone can access, in for honor there is the testing grounds where only in that game mode has the game updates with new content that you can test, dbd can do that too so there will be more feedback, and the playerbase can test stuff like new perk changes or big gameplay changes such as a early game mechanic that survivors must do before working on gens. More people testing means more STATS, BHVR's favorite term.

-Noed rework or nerf, i personally would just make it so that as soon as someone is hit with noed the totems aura is revealed to all survivors until it is destroyed. It boring and unfair and everyone hates it, change it.

-SBMM simply needs to go, its a casual game, its not fun to sweat as survivor or killer every single match pls for the love of god.

-SWF Comms are simply broken and needs to be adjusted, i think that if the more people you have in a group you get a bigger pentalty for doing things like gens or healing others, as an example to compensate for the insane information you get for free.
Maybe if killers get enough buffs this won't be necessary and solo que can be buffed to compensate.

-Buff the weakest killers, they are already working on legion and ghostface but they need to rework Michael he is completely outdated and is the only killer that has a limited power and will eventually just go away. Clown needs some jack in the box style power that can be used in some way, either for information or map control, also it would be nice if he could have more bottles base kit, its insane to think about that clown carries 4 non-lethals projectiles whilst Huntress carries 5 lethal projectiles, it makes no sense. Other killers should get similar adjustments to compensate for their weaknesses.

-Give a button or some mechanic so that I can spend all million of my bloodpoints at once, i dread spending bloodpoints because they take 10 mins every time and its very obnoxious and time consuming for no reason.

-Fix or rework old shitty perks to see some perk variety.

-Fix the Pizza Spaghetti Risotto Linguini code, playing bingo to see what will break in the next big update is actually annoying and frustrating especially when its a gamebreaking bug like crashes or killers not being able to hook, etc. Start from the beginning if you must this is probably the most important.

-Have custom games that you can play by yourself with and survivor or killer with any perk to practice before getting into a match.

-Fix the most problematic maps, or adjust certain tiles so they aren't as strong. Windows are way stronger than any pallet when it comes to looping, at least you can permantently break a pallet but that jungle gym connecting to killer shack? yea thats staying up all game baby!

-Game has a pipping system that is a good indicator of skills use that instead of kills,

-Fix camping, tunneling etc, its not fun when you are taken out of the game early cuz thats the best way to play, camping needs to be punished in an actual gamplay way and not pipping way. Maybe if the killer is within a certain distance of the hook while gens are still up the hook meter either pauses or goes way slower.

I'm sure there's more but these are my most important changes i'd like to see peraonlly whether or not people agree with it.

  11. Siege is the best example of fixing a game it literally went from a buggy mess to one of the biggest FPS games especially in the E sports scene. I believe DBD needs operation health but I don't believe they will do it

They don't care enough to fix it because enough people still play and Ubisoft were worried about losing millions and the ability to market the IP in the future, where as DBD doesn't have that worry because they only have the one game and aren't a huge corporation worried about thier image

  12. Like you said, the core problems with dbd existed before and were brought front and center when sbmm was added into the game. An operation health is not what they need to fix these issues, it needs an operation rework. useless perks and overperforming perks need to be brought to a balance for both sides, Addons and items need to be changed so they play a support role like they are intended and not determine how powerful or weak survivors and killers are, the entire generator repair time system would need to be changed into a system that isn't so finicky, etc.

Obviously the game needs bug fixes but the problems that so many players love complain about are problems with the core of the game so simply tweaking settings here and there wont fix anything, it might make it better for the time being but it wont fix it. A good example of this is the hatch, it went from being an easy get out of jail free card until the entire system got changed with the end game collapse and hatch nerf to only spawning with 1 player left regardless; A problem at its core was gutted and completely reworked to make the game more enjoyable.

  13. I think an operation health can work when you have a semi functioning foundation. DBD would need a full rewrite of its core engine and game systems (like an overwatch 2.0) – same characters, powers, etc but on top of new, rewritten code and I don't think BHVR would ever pull that many resources into something like that when they can keep making money with what they got

  14. I just don't have the will to play this game anymore. It's no longer fun, nor is it scary. Killers should be powerful and should be stronger than survivors. Survivors need that fear back. Anyways, I uninstalled and I'm not missing it.

  15. DBD needs a second gamemode. there is the base 4v1, but what about something else? If you get bored of the game, the only thing you can do is to play with different perks on killers and survivor alike, it seems like stuff that people in fighting games do, play in the training mode trying to find random stuff that is new, if its useless no one cares…
