Would have been dope for them to nerf pop as kicking the same gen would lower the amount it regresses to solve that “killer just keeps kicking my 1 gen over and over again”
BHVR once again demonstrating that they don't play their own game, but boy they sure do love them some spreadsheets.
i think there's no real point to worrying that low-tier killers will be harder if meta perks are nerfed. if perks are all made closer in strength, players of low-tiers will no longer be able to compensate for a weak basekit with strong perks, and therefore the pick/kill rate data that behavior clearly over-relies on will better reflect the actual strength of the characters. i think having a month or two of true unplayability is the fastest way for trapper, freddy, etc to get attention from the balance team. it's a necessary sacrifice.
in other words, worrying about the secondary effects of balance changes like this is kind of pointless. sure, if they were using their brains to pick out which things to rebalance, it would be worth pointing out. but unfortunately, they mainly use their pick/kill/escape rate data, which makes indirect nerfs to weak characters a positive thing, because it'll make that data more accurate.
Maybe killers should have "Kick power" levels and they all have individual gen regression percentages. Nurse and Blight can have weak kick power, and trapper can have strong kick power.
Here comes pop getting buffed to 25% in a couple weeks, honestly this balance team sucks, as Mr. Jund said some of these perks didn’t need a change it’s the killers, just buff the weak killers please
on the pop subject you mention that game needs to be balanced before looking at perks but in same breath say that you cannot consistently win unless you run all the slow downs. Ergo having the slowdowns un-nerfed means you can go back to winning more consistently. So balance ?
They’re doing it all wrong. You don’t nerf strong stuff, you buff weak stuff. Keep it interesting.

Scamper is basically useless now because even while you scamper during slice & dice the turn rate is so little
They need to increase his turn rate while in slice & dice or make him 115 as compensation

im a survivor main but gen speeds need to be looked at. Killer can basically find his first person and get 1 health state before 2 players can power through a gen. Im glad that these anti gen perks are getting nerfed bc they did too much once the killer got rolling, but gen speed at start is too fast
It seems wild that we're already nearing the point of a new killer being put in the PTB. Feels like Unknown just released, but maybe that's because I stopped playing after learning Unknown. DBD is never more fun than when not playing it.
"slow the game just a lil bit" starts to be useless and i only use pop i might start playing more billy nuse and blight at this point to keep up i miss old dbd when i didn t have to stress myself every killer game or survivor(games were more chill) and didn t have to use meta perks
i like these changes as a killer main because it gives me the exact motivation i needed to take a loooooong break from the game.

I think they've only nerfed the gen regression because k1llers are running 4 of them. Unfortunately we've done this to ourselves.
Dude why not just give a time needed for the scamper? Like you enter hidey ho and can only scamper after the screen effects end. That way survivors know what you're trying to do and have time to react before you can scamper

I don't play anymore but what would be a cool idea is if perks had a point system and give weaker killers a higher point load out to work with that way they can use a lot more meta perks and better killers have a low point load out so they can't abuse all the strong perks

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea that infection doesn’t build after being unhooked until you commit a conspicuous action. If you get chased immediately off hook, and you’re unable to contribute to gens, totems, healing, etc, you can still get tunneled as a result of hindrance from tunneling. Sure, it’s significantly less viable if you plan on winning. With that said, I don’t think it should be viable at all especially on such a strong killer. Any gameplay changes that prevent what I find to be boring and bad gameplay is ultimately beneficial to the game. An A tier killer shouldn’t also have an open gateway to justify tunneling.
Invocation: weaving spiders.
I tried using it, and it was so much fun with my Swf. They just laugh each time I go praying in the basement. But the issue for me was that the game did not reward me for using it. Because most of the time, I didn't do anything while activating the perk. This extra one minute will probably be really helpful to go into the game and contribute more for the team.
Literally if they nerf this they need to revert his slice and dice movement nerf

I dont see this as a meta shakeup at all, they just nerfed the best perks but without really buffing anything else, so the meta will stay the same but just be a bit weaker, not to mention Pop and Pain Res are now almost worse than their release versions which is why they got buffed in the first place

I'm in the group of people, whatever size that is, who are less interested in highly add on dependent killers and simply prefer a more consistently strong base ability performance
If base killer abilities get buffed and the result is add ons are weaker, good. I always hated feeling like I'm being nerfed for NOT using them.
I find Chucky to be the most annoying killer to go against, he's too small and can remove his terror radius way too easily. He's hard to keep track of and also plays in 3rd person so mind-games at loops is impossible to win. Chucky needs to either be resized or needs to not play in 3rd person, those are realistically the only options I see for him to actually be balanced in anyway. (Oh yeah, and do not allow him to remove his terror radius, make him 4.2 m/s, and make him way more audible.)

I think the pop change just makes it so a larger portion of the killer community won't feel AS bad about running pain res/pop lol
balancing a game where top tier killers and swf can use the same exact perk combos as solo que and low tier killers is ultimately nonsensical. I'm sure BHVR has iron clad reasons for not segmenting the playerbase, may very well be the correct choice, but in terms of balance nurse running the exact same slowdown perks as a trapper, a 4man swf running the same exact second chance combo as some schmuck who's looking to get a single save at the exit gates once every four matches, however you shuffle the overall balance around it's never going to avoid huge disparities.
They are going to revert them all after the PTB, Like last time.
