2018 Halloween was not just a good Halloween film; not just a good slasher film; but a good film. I think it completely showed what the genre is capable of to the fullest extent.

Do you really think he was unwilling to kill the baby? I think he only didn’t kill because he didn’t feel like killing at that moment, not because ‘twas a toddler. Unlike every other killer, Michael doesn’t need a reason to kill. One of the many reasons I love him, so the fact that Rob Zombie gave Michael “some” sort of motivation to kill turned me off. I love the movies, but that was a bad move.
Do you think there will be an instalment in the franchise after Halloween Ends? Will Michael finally end his game and kill Laurie in Halloween Kills? Will Michael be finally killed in Halloween Ends? I doubt it. He’s almost immortal at this point. Or will they take it along the lines of Hannibal Lecter and introduce a copycat killer, and make Laurie (like Will) a killer too (what Halloween Resurrection should have actually been)? Because Michael could have killed Laurie in various instances if he’d really wanted to get it over with, but he didn’t. That makes me think there’s something more to the story. But uh anyway, I’m so pumped for the movie. I, for one, don’t want the franchise to end with this tetralogy. I want it to go on without them messing it up — don’t want Halloween get messed up like Friday, the 13th, but there’s only little hope for that.

I like myers as the first movie breaking out and stalking and killing people. When the detective shot him at the end he should have died in my opinion because that's the scary part that he's just a normal guy not some superhuman.
What if it turns out he survived the fire because he took shelter in a hidden room where he used to live shut away in the walls watching the family or something?

Since the video started the second the game did, I couldn't hear the specific Halloween he was talking about. Can't really use context clues either since I'm not especially versed in the franchise, but I find the commentary interesting (film_nerd.exe). I want to watch the movie and analyze it myself. You know, I always thought that Michael didn't kill that baby because it didn't really react to him. The kid was scared of the boogeyman, so Michael would go for the kid. Just felt like Mikey's only going to go for those who are afraid of him.

I mean, Michael has to die at some point, he's a 70 years old with a missing eye, 2 missing fingers, 8 bullet wounds (1 being new) and severed muscles on his forearm, plus probably some second or third degree burns after the ending of 2018.
Last thing I want is the ridiculous immortal Myers that the older sequels made.
Michael is a babysitter killer, as soon as you put him against armed people and the police it becomes ridiculous that he doesn't die withing the next 5min.
Rob Zombie really should stick to music and stay away from movies imo
The 2018 seemed like it was trying to set up Micheal to be more supernatural as opposed to being simply pure evil (ex. he spares multiple people throughout the film), possessed by some evil energy. Bc he was fine until presented the mask and then had a transformation that even effected the weather (which seemed odd, bc that makes him feel more like Jason). This seems to set up the ending where the granddaughter may or may not be possessed as she clutches his objects, since she was traumatize every scene she was in creating a new Mikey or copycat. Further, for them to have locked him in a burning basement and theres a confirmed next movie, it makes me think they are going deep on either of these plot points based on the 2018 ver
Also as far as Rob Zombie goes. House of a thousand corpses.is a good psychically slasher and devils rejects was class

Halloween 2018 is my favorite Halloween movie. I love how they reference the earlier movies in the franchise with little Easter eggs. Also the directing in the movie is fantastic like the three minute no cut scene was fantastic.
I really agree on your take Michael, I like the mystery and the little flickers and hints that there is something human left under the mask, not this empty void of killing and evil.
