I have been dealing with these issues for a while now as well, including hate in chat, alongside sniping and game hostage. If they could just allow us to leave the game when there is a cheater involved, we wouldn’t have such a big issue! But the fact that they can hold us for up to 2 hours, or force a DC timer for up to a day is absolutely de-moralising. Every game can be holding a cheater, any skilled play will be suspicious and called out often, we will be checking everyones profile incase of someone trying to sneak into the lobby and cheat etc, there is so much pressure!

Really surprised no one else was talking about this. Otz's video, although surprising, was something you could've seen coming with how bad cheating has gotten.
This might be the worst state the game has been in because of cheating. Just pathetic that these lonely incels want to take over games for their amusement. Cowards really.
It is tough on content creators big & small☹️
There’s two parts to this. The first part is the deplorable part which is the cheating and hacking. Not only in game but Otz mentioned that he believes he was DDOS’d, which is appalling. This is a terrible look for BHVR and the devs and needs to be a massive priority.
The other side however is that I think he is genuinely just burnt out on the game. Yes, because of cheaters but also I think the days of 50 win streaks, afk challenges, mr nice guy builds are over for him. He’s too well known and people want to beat him. I’ve seen DBD have 60K viewers and Otz has 10K of them at times. People want to face him and beat him.
So people stream snipe and bring 4 toolboxes, BNP, prove thyself etc. Does this suck? Yes but there’s not much he can do. Stream sniping is reportable (I think) but is anything going to come of it? Highly unlikely. I think Otz needs these challenges to not only make content but also to keep the game fresh for himself. He gave up on his Wesker streak attempt after only a few games due to a bad map (eyrie) and survivors bring BNP. It’s clear his heart isn’t in it right now and a break is a good idea. It will surely put pressure on the devs anyway.
Not only that but some streamers were doxxed their address by hackers. I feel like you don't have to play a game where you feel at risk of having your personal info disappear

I dont blame him dbd is a fun game but it gets boring and frustrating if played for too long and the cheater problem isnt going away any time soon sadly.
Hands down if bhvr lets otz leave, this game will become what WoW is. a slow, never-turning-back decline into death.
I've faced so many cheaters and it's gotten to the point that I haven't touched dbd in a month because the amount of cheaters is getting ridiculous. I sometimes do stream and when doing so in 6/10 matches I'd face cheaters and if it's not cheaters then it's crying babies playing survivors..complaining about:

Basically anything. You could stand afk in a corner and they'll complain about it.
It's really no fun anymore and I really like playing dbd. And I hate when I get a friend telling me "I DiDnT sEe AnY ChEaTeRs YeT". Yeah as survivor you won't be against many cheaters. Plus that friend has adapted the toxic survivor mentality.. So yeah.
And the amount of subtle cheaters is bad. Even if not streaming and creating content, it just isn't fun at all.
Edit: the last match I played as Killer, before I decided to quit for a while, I was held hostage for, I believe, almost three hours and while doing that they even displayed how subtle they can be and it was shocking. Because it looked like someone who's just being good. And then I'm wondering how many people were just cheating all along? They're often survivors. I think I've only seen a handful of killer cheaters but survivor cheaters are everywhere. I decided for my own good to quit until it gets fixed. I love dbd but it has become too ridiculous at this point and too many cheaters.
I enjoy Otzdarva's content I seen that video I was thinking about coming back to DBD but I don't know now. Good video keep up the good work
Imagine if DbD had the after match map showcase that EVOLVE had.
It showed where everyone went and relevant information over the match, it could help with figure out where ppl go. (You could see them cheat this way as well)

I've mentioned this before, but in Identity V, we have a surrender button. Both for survivors and hunters; they need to add something like that in DBD. No penalty and it just gives the win and moves on. It's not that hard to do, really.
It's so stupid. My friend and me had many Killer and Surv cheaters in the last few weeks. And none of us, random mates or killer were streamers. They want to ruin the fun for everyone. And you can't even dc to move on because YOU get a timeout. They need to remove this shit or fix this problem fast. Then when not, people will stop playing this game.
Letting the killer walk out of a portal in the killer shack could end all of this.

Their biggest mistake was having the game for free on epic. All the cheaters got to restock on accounts… One of the biggest advantages a paid game has against cheaters is that because an account cost money they are finite. If you keep banning them, eventually they'll run out of accounts. They set back that eventually by years potentially.
This is why, in my opinion, fog whisperers that do nothing but try to stay on BHVR's best side (I wont say their names but if you are at all familiar with the DBD community you likely know who they are) need to sack up and call BHVR out about this. It is ridiculous that almost nothing is being done about it.
Fog Whisperers need to band together and refuse to stream DBD until these issues are addressed. Maybe that would not do anything but if they go public about it as a collective it would send a message.
Some of the cheating shoukd be easy to identify and result in immediate instaban.
Survivirs in the air for longer than 3 seconds? Instaban
Survivor moving faster than 101% with no perks giving the speed up? Instaban.
Match goes on longer than 30 or 45 minutes? End it.
Etc etc

We love you Jay and the community loves you Otz! Otz is literally the encyclopaedia of DBD; I learnt everything from him. Hopefully this gets fixed sooner rather than later (if at all). I no longer play killer because it too makes me feel this way.
I honestly can't believe Behavior has let cheaters/hackers be this organized, its embarrassing.
It's sad because Tru3 has said this many times in the past and is told to "shut up and deal with it" by the very same people who kiss the ass of other creators. One big problem with the current state of DbD is the report system sucks. People have been convicted and sent to prison on less evidence than it takes to get a cheater banned in this game.

At 6:50 just after jumping the window, Jill uses dead hard a second time probably just to be safe? But definitely dead hard. Had two cheaters for sure with flashlight girl.
We need a full crackdown. Not just a removal of DC Penalties (But definitely the removal of DC Penalties), but so much more.
IP Bans.
Hardware ID Bans on the First Offense; not the weaksauce HDD/SSD ones, GPU/CPU
Better Anti-Cheat (If Rust can catch, kick, and autoban someone that's moving just slightly faster than they should be able to BHVR should be able to get a system in place that detects speed discrepancies, and repeated clipping through the terrain.)
Legal Action against the groups making the Cheat Software. (Jagex and Bungie have won those cases– The latter to the tune of $13 Million. And Activision has just started a lawsuit for almost $900 Million at the beginning of the year. The options are there, they just need to take them.)

High mmr and solo que get cheaters quite frequently. I got to the point I was sending reports weekly, I decided to stop playing. I have that luxury as someone who doesn’t stream, to just quit, on the other hand I’ve played the game since 2016 and it’s sad I don’t play as much now.
It’s been a thing since Dbd was released. Tru3 complained for years about similar things and now it’s just out of control because the game lacks replay features and better reporting mechanics and it lacks dedicated ppl specifically for reports. It’s hard to keep playing when the frequency is increasing and then half the reports are marked as solved and the same ppl are still in the game cheating
This has been on ongoing issue for so long. Granted in the time I've played I've only ran into a handful of these clowns but still, even 3 out of 50 matches is still 3 too many. The fact BVHR hasn't done fuck all about it is so pathetic.

Honestly the DBD client is so badly made that they literally cannot do anything to stop this, and the keys for the game are nearly free, so its already over. The company literally doesnt care at this point. You can only be banned if they personally watch a video. The fact that the lobby timer was set for 2 hours instead of like 20-30 mins says a lot. BHVR is just trash.
What will help is removing desync penalty. If you desync everyone else in that room should just get double blood points. From there work on anti cheat.
I wish they had it to where if you have proof someone cheated what ever DC penalty you'd get normally you wouldn't get. It's sad how streamers are getting targeted for just wanting to stream and enjoy the game and it most likely makes it one of the reasonings of why people who want to get into streaming wouldn't stream DBD or would be scared/nervous to.
Honestly I think if anyone DC's after 15 mins in a game there should be no penalty. Even in real matches if someone DC's at that point, you've played a long game. Sure there can be moments it sucks but for the most part will be a full game. Only hurt themselves at that point and will stop anyone from holding people hostage.
Its not just people who stream /do youtube content for the game that are on the list unfortunately.
The devs can do a LOT about this stuff but they are beyond incompetent in my opinion when it comes to combating this issue. They wont even do the most basic and easiest thing to have done.. By having the anti-cheat be SERVER side and not client side like it still is. That alone would help a lot. Not to mention using the latest build of EAC instead of a very old one.. Not to mention having a in-game replay and report system… Can go on about this stuff but there really is no point I feel.
The best solution will be giving the fog whisperers the ability to ban anyone without any investigations

Yeah hacking is a problem but theres alot of stupid ass killers who are always claiming survivors are hacking. Especially when some of them dont understand perks, like with for instance shadowstep, or funny thing is I've been called a auto deadhard hacker just because I'm decent with its timing,
It's starting to be a big issue for non streamers who play on console now as well, just the other day I was held hostage with another person for almost an hour before they got bored and left on ps 5, this happened 3 times in a week which isn't as awful as poor streamers deal with but it's still really annoying
I started an experiment on dbd I play on Xbox and pc. Xbox Account is Max MMR and I get cheaters now 1/6 or 7 matches which is pretty high. On my PC account I started new and everything was chill maybe 1 Hacker in 30 or 40 games or something like that but not that often. After a while I came to the same point on Xbox and the same results. Higher MMR is infested with cheaters and hackers. MMR led to more cheaters cause these problems weren’t that common back then before MMR got introduced atleast it feels like this.
I am not sure where to mention this for you.. So I am doing it here.. Devs are finally going to do what I said they would do. Unbreakable is going to be base kit.. and unlimited..
To explain how the new base unbreakable works. After 45 seconds they gain the ability to use unbreakable. The survivor will need to fill the meter after said time to get up. Unbreakable will almost make this instant after the 45 second timer is up. I hope this is a better explanation that what the devs wrote on the upcoming patch notes.. ( And a reminder, its infinite.. )
They are also changing the moris and perks associated with it. Mori is going to be basekit but its going to be a bit.. Different.
