  1. i think it's worth considering the survivor side of totem spawns too. In a map like the swamp, you'll have two pretty normal totem spawns, then all of the others will probably be on the outside of the map and completely useless. I think the main problem with boon totems is genuinely map design more than anything else.
Assuming it's a regular map with normal totem spawns i actually kinda love the idea of these perks, and i'm just always really excited and completely supportive of new mechanics. at least this is something different, even if they end up being incredibly strong. My only fear is that knowing bhvr, they'll either never change these perks, or they'll eventually completely neuter them and make them garbage – if i can trust the company to listen to feedback and make such good changes as they have in this most recent patch, then I don't have any issue with them introducing potentially broken things like this.

  2. The fact that survivors are able to destroy a Hex perk and also use their Boon perk at the same time is hilariously bad, in the dev notes they were talking about the survivors having to strategize when using their boon totems, but what even is there to strategize? Do you want a buff now or do you not want a buff now? That's literally it and it's incredibly stupid, instead, for Hex totems at least, the survivors need to decide if they should remove a killer's buff, or if they should get their buff instead, that's actual strategizing, right now that's just a win win for the survivor, Hex gone, Boon activated, nothing to lose at all

  3. I mean if you go to nerf the boon totem perks before launch, pretty sure no one will use them, and you'll probably see the same only 7 perks in high mmr, however i do agree they are kind of unbalanced, maybe they could have a only one use for them when the killer destroys the blessing totem, that way they cant keep redoing the blessing and i feel like that would be a part of the high risk, high reward. Still i'm not much of a fan of running hex perks and i do play much more killer than survivor, but so hard i haven't seen them be all that busted, maybe the healing one, but if they just have it so the survivor can only bless once, i feel like that could be a good compromise and they wouldn't have to nerf the perk into the ground.

  4. I knew it, THIS PATCH was to good to be true, GREAT PATCH and then BROKEN AF boon totems, dont forget you can STACK boon totem perks for a better benefit where if you stack hex perks you increase the chances of them being found and cleansed

  5. I definitely agree with your point about indoor/outdoor maps. I think the only thing Boons need changed though is to have them not overlap/stack. I honestly think that would mostly fix their current state.

  6. I do agree about the Boon totems location. First game i did was on Temple of Purgation. There were 2 totems in the main building : downstairs in the maze walls and upstairs next to the huge drop. Both are hard to locate and take time to arrive in front of. The second map i played on was Raccoon City, and i placed my totem upstairs in the library. Both times it never got hit/found. While playing on more "normal" maps such as Wreckers yard or Yamaoka it got found pretty easily.

  7. simply put: boon totems are just a bad idea and shouldn’t be in the game, but bhvr never admits they’re wrong so we gotta live with them now, first of all the effects are too strong, second of all if you bless a totem the related hex is automatically cleansed which i think is dumb asf and should definitely be changed and it would be more interesting if survivors needed to choose if they want to bless the totem OR cleanse the hex, that would create some kind of a trade off at least and the biggest problem with them is that you can use them an infinite amount of times during a match which is absolutely absurd, honestly the effects can stay strong but once you’ve blessed a totem you shouldn’t be able do it again in a single match, after all you can already choose where you’re gonna put it

  8. The only problem with the directional sound is I use one speaker for the sound so at best I can look around and see where it’s loudest but I just can’t see it making any real difference for me. Atleast kicking up dust is something that doesn’t matter what set up you have to play the game.

  9. I get why they make Boon totems turn back into dull, but the killer should really have the option to either revert or break a totem. It's going to be annoying as fuck to deal with the same totem over and over.

  10. circle of healing is absolutely fucking stupid against a good SWF, i tried it on PTB already…if this actually releases like this ima just have to either stack oneshot perks like haunted-undying or noed on killers like nurse. I like that they're adding another objective and I think the idea is really fun, but like..why make them so strong? And why not just give killers the ability to bless a totem aswell if a survivor removed their hex via a boon (so the survivor didnt destroy the hex totem). Really thought they wouldn't make this so insanely SWF sided, those groups really didn't need another buff in their favor.

  11. boon totems are adding a layer to the game that scott mentioned shortly before with VHS. it adds more chances for survivors to fight back and that ruins the essentials of the game. it is ambitious but i think in the wrong way

  12. What about the fact that survivors can use the boons to replace the hex totems without the help totems coming back on top of having multiple boons on one map?

These boons totems are stupidly overpowered.

  13. I feel like a good fix would be they get one use and the killer destroys the dull totem when they interact with it so survivors cant reignite it. Its almost like they have a built it Undying with these perks. SWF finna be strong af if these arent addressed soon. Like they’re cool ideas, they just need to be adjusted a bit.

  14. I think Circle of Healing is the best perk in the game by far. 8 second self care, 4 second green medkit with no add ons, you can choose where it goes, even if the killer removes jt you can just put it right back

  15. So while the totems are gonna be a pain I see it like this. Solo que you won't be using them often cause you normally get paired with SWF which they will most likely have one person with them already. This means also against SWF you'll have teams with at least one dedicated boon totem player. That person will have two less perks to deal with and if they get found first they essentially wasted perk slots.

Boon totems are really gonna be a case to case basis with how effective they are. I can see them helping in some cases and being next to worthless in others.

  16. I think an interesting way Boon totems shake up the meta even more is that it is now DETRIMENTAL to the team to destroy dull totems, and could be a bit of a dick move to your teammates that have Boon perks, thats now an area that cannot have a Boon and gives less chances for anyone with a Boon perk to use it.

An interesting side note as well is that is could be seen as a small buff to NOED cause now people wont want to destroy dull totems for themsleves/Teammates Boon Perks. Sidenote if theres only one totem left and it has a boon at the end of the game can it be taken over by NOED, if so thats almost always a guaranteed NOED.

  17. Man I feel like they should just make hex and boon totems linked so if I the killer or if u the survivor destroys the totem then yours and mine gets destroyed as well and vice versa because it will make it far more fair and you’ll have to gamble either having to deal with hex ruin or lose your meta build

  18. What's the point of cleansing now? A couple of perks activate by doing so and you get some points, but if too many totems are cleansed, won't the boon totems become useless since you can't bless anything?

  19. Definitely imo shouldn't be able to boon a totem multiple times. Yeah a survivor takes a good amount of time more to bless than a killer takes to destroy. But 1.) If there are four survivors, a single survivor can take a lot more than 12 seconds of the killers time to kinda help balance out the blesser's time loss. And all while the other two are still on gens. 2.) The survivors are most like going to bless totems they come across naturally (such as going to a near by gen), rather than go out of their way. But the killer will usually have to go out of his way to cleanse it. Meaning the survivor loses less in travel time on average compared to the killer. 3.) It adds an additional objective to the one side that is already the busiest and it is an objective that is theoretically infinite. 4.) There's only two perks right now. In a year there could be as many as 12 more (though highly unlikely). And depending on what they do as well as the two we have now, they could make for an easily OP combination that is, again, theoretically infinite. Because they can always be reapplied with no limit. But I do understand why the devs made these. Because when we get a few more boon perks they can shut down one of the most annoying strats a killer uses (being a 3 gen strat). Which I believe is a good and healthy thing for the game. Giving that strat a counter is definitely needed. But it's the other applications, Infinite usage, and essentially giving the one side that doesn't need more objectives, another objective, that imo is just too much

  20. It's only gonna get worse as more boon perks get added. Every survivor will have extremely strong AoE effects that they can carry with them wherever they go, and it only takes a few seconds to set up. A Killer will have to deal with 4 huge AoE circles at the same time, all with varying strong effects, and even if they get dealt with, they can easily just be set back up. It's gonna be horrific.
