Survivors, please STOP doing this! | Dead by Daylight

Dedicating your entire build to running 4 chase perks seems to be more popular than ever. But from my experience (as both roles), this often does more harm than good and leaves the team vulnerable to tunneling and other difficult situations. This video makes some arguments as to why you should incorporate some altruistic and anti-tunneling perks into your build as well.

  1. Fun fact: in my recent games Windows of Opportunity was used by 40.2% of all Survivors. Am I the only that thinks this is crazy? Even though the perk is obviously great, I still can't wrap my head around how popular it is.

  2. Soooooo… I just finished a 13 hour day and played 6 games of survivor. Bubba facecamped twice, hard tunneled 3 times and left on the floor to bleed out while being humped by a Nurse. I didn't get more than 8k base BP in any of those games. Over 2k hours and honestly, I've had enough. I don't know why I bother even launching the game as games are supposed to be enjoyable

  3. No, otz. I will not stop using this build. Fast vaults are now the same speed as medium vaults for some reason and you don’t get that extra distance anymore because behavior decided it was a good idea to revert one of the only good vault updates in a while. And this is one of the only builds that allows me to have fun in chase anymore. So respectfully, no. I will continue to run it until it either gets nerfed into the ground or something else changes.

  4. play toxic lmao, tbag, camp, tunnel etc. Dead by daylight is unfair matchmaking game with many gay and ttv people who are toxic and when you strike back they gonna say you are a homophobe and just report you, so give em a reason to be mad. If you see lgbt charms just camp them. Have fun lmao

  5. The main thing I've noticed, really since basekit BT was added, was just bad unhooks. Now without the ability to grab a survivor when they attempt to unhook, people are just boldly unhooking with no strategy and then wondering why they die so easily. The attempts to reduce tunneling/camping are just resulting in dumber plays by survivors.

  6. Unless you release a sinilar video titled "Killers, please stop doing this" and explain how 4 slowdown perks is just as boring/dumb, then I can't help but see a bit of bias on your part as mainly a killer player.
While I understand the value of having at least 1 anti tunnel or altruism perk and rarely run 4 chase myself, what is the area most survivors want to improve on or have the most fun doing? It's certainly not playing the M1 simulator, it's getting chased. And having perks help you get better at that and last longer are what they are gonna want to do, myself included.
Let's be real Otz. There currently is maybe 1 real single anti tunnel perk in this game. Off the record. DS has been nerfed so heavily that no one runs it and killers don't give two shits about it anymore; 3 seconds is nothing for most to catch up and down them again. Don't get me started on relying on someone else to run Guardian or BT. Only if you run all 3 of those perks like you showcased, then it can be effective at wasting time. But there's no guarantee you even get value. Even in your games you showed, you didn't get tunneled 1st game, and the killer didn't camp the 2nd game so you barely got value from your builds. But guess what happens in EVERY game? You'll get chased. So of course people will bring chase perks to help with that.
I see your point that if all 4 ppl brought nothing but chase, then it can be a detriment to the team's overall chances of winning. But when solo queue is obviously the weakest role, can you blame anyone for"being selfish" and running perks to help themselves?

  7. Sad that the most fun part of the game isn’t really the most optimal thing to do

Like I wish that some day I as killer with 4 anti-chase perks went against 4 chase build survivors instead of the “do gens and gtfo” type

  8. The issue is the only fun part of the game is chases. Why would I bring a bunch of gen and healing perks when I can bring perks that extend chases and make them more fun so I can maximize my enjoyment of the game? I think the real issue is how incredibly boring gens are.

  9. thank you for the advices you give, they are always useful! As for me, sometimes I'm taking windows of opportunity perk because im kindof new and totally lost when running away ;-; ……..still getting kicked as I'm panicking X'D but I'm getting better, at least ^^

  10. I started running Windows of Opportunity, Lithe, We'll Make It, and Prove Thyself. Has seemed to be a pretty well rounded build that I've kept for months now. Only very recently replaced Prove Thyself with Plot Twist because I love the perk. I definitely agree that there are perks that are super selfish and if you aren't a God at looping the killer you will only be a hindrance to the team. My buddy ran Windows, Lithe, Distortion, and Deadhard for the longest time and only ever screwed us over lol.

  11. Here lately I’ve been running Rapid brutality STBFL, Play with your food and Ultimate weapon on Clown (suddenly haste stacking isn’t niche, balanced, and a skill issue to survivors anymore)
