I mean I want to win. But I like running meme builds more. Also in dbd winning is open to debate. to me winning equals a pip. And a black pip is a draw. Idc if I die as long as I wasn't face camped at the start, you know?
I find myself in between wanting to win and wanting to have fun. I just want my losses to FEEL like I lost for a real reason and not "oh a 3rd party" or some random bug screwing me over or some blatantly overpowered character/item. That's why I'm looking forward to VHS! Its a back and forth that is both competitive and fun to engage with the opposite team.
when someone says, “it’s just a game, i don’t care about losing.”
I take that as an excuse for losing.
I play for fun. Win or lose is fine by me. The cheaters are what make me really angry. Side note, I used to think you were a bit self-centered and stuck up, but now you seem more like a father figure. Don't know if that's an insult or not lol.
Obviously the Laurie was being childish especially not knowing what perks you were running. As you pointed out she just wanted the WGLF stack. However as someone who usually runs BT and We’ll Make It (and sometimes WGLF or Deliverance as well) it’s really frustrating having two or three unhooking perks and having someone else with zero beat you to the unhook by a second. When I’m not running BT in particular I always stop going for the unhook if I see anyone else going for it.
I even get annoyed playing nba my pro when I drop 25 points and my team still loses lol like what else can I do at that point 🤣
That meg was somehow even more useless than a Laurie who threw a tantrum
The discussions you and your chat have are so interesting/entertaining to listen to
Yeah, most people are competitive but you have to look at the scope of what winning or losing actually means in the grand scheme of things. I believe just as much as people are competitive, they are also collaborative. Prob has a bit to do with gender norms and expectations sprinkled in.
I literally got so angry playing cod I had to quit playing because it was unhealthy.
The only games you play not to win are games where you can't win. Like a building game thats single player
There are some games that you play that don't have a competition aspect necessarily though. I love building in Minecraft. I want to get better and look at other people's building techniques, but I don't see it as a competition. I understand where Tru3's coming from with games that have clear winners and losers, though. Like I can play casually but I'd prefer to win in air hockey.
is it just me or this zarina shoes are so loud?
lol i searched up cod rage and this came up lmao

The ego on Tru3 is crazy, in his mind he can’t ever be wrong…
People don't understand the meaning of PvP. It's competitive by its nature
Yeah it is such a dumb argument. People are so soft that they cannot even understand the idea of competitve spirits (not the killer btw). Like I always want to better myself when playing a game I like even if it is just PvE. It pushes me, gives me something to do, allows for a positive reaction, when winning. Like hard work pays of kind of deal.
If only the higher ranks would be competitive and all the casuals would not care to lose, then why are they the loudest in crying for nerfs? Not only this game but other games too. They play 1h and immediately complain. I do not get this mentality. How are you ever able to achieve anything in life like this?
For me, i can compete if i want but often time is just want to enjoy the game so winning or losing is almost secondary objective. Like in dnd, i enjoy playing a killer and survivor but for the most part i enjoy the chases and if i get a kill or two it's a good bonus. However it does tilt me a bit when facing bullying survivors or having to worry about rank (which unfortunately isn't avoidable since it's the only mode in the game).
I have no problem losing just hate like I've got mindgamed by killers before and smiled cause it caught me off guard and was a good read knowledge is power
Ehhhhh….I don't think gamers aren't as much competitive as they are narcissistic.
The culture around, "winning", is not competition. It's let me bitch to an audience until I win through developer intervention.
Otz, I would call competitive, Michi competitive, Dowsey competitive rarely do these individuals succumb to changes and more often than not are quite receptive of them and still perform well. . .but these people who start saying this killer is dead and then move to the next best thing are not competitive. These are those narcissistic gamers who use the label, "competitive", when it's actually just them playing the only thing that validates their self worth. You can see it in the attitude of players. This is not unique to DbD. This is the culture of gamers. Narcisstic gamers are probably the worst thing to happen to gaming. They don't care about their own abilities, or competing, they only care about, you said it. . .Winning and consequently only things they can exploit. They are definitively NOT competitive. They are exploitative. You cannot be exploitative and competitive at the same time. If they were competitive they wouldn't be dying at the recent (proposed) shake up in the meta. . .but here they are. Full display. Having Narcisstic rage fits that their, "means to an end", has been taken away and they actually have to c.o.m.p.e.t.e. I think a lot of streamers have this delusion their own personal play-style is the one size fits all and is the, "only", way. It's text-book Narcissism.
. . .I mean LISTEN TO WHAT THEY ARE SAYING. . ."I don't want to go up against sweat-fest survivors", No shit. . .because you don't actually want to compete. . .you just want to Win. Makes no damn sense. . .but that's how these gamers think.
why his gf stopped showing up on the streams?
I played against a bunch of Nurse last night, and this guy was one of them.
She was skilled but I made her lose me around a LUI loop pretty fast without any exhaustion perks but in the end… Haunted Grounds screwed the whole team
Blight all the way. I got my friends to play and one of them was able to understand nurse rather quick and in a few days she has improved immensly.
Certain gamemodes aren't as competitive if you can still perfrom well but your team loses, like conquest in Battlefield. Losing Rush hurts more because it's a smaller team so you're more accountable
Kinda agree. I have an opinion in my circle of friend that im not salty, i dont rage and generally i dont care about winning (if i lose, i will not be angry at whole World, that kinda thing im assuming). Truth is i dont like losing, like everyone. I just accept fact that i cant win everything because i cant, there are reasons for that and usually its because i fucked something up but not always.
Anyway, ye. I just know we cant win everything. Thats the sad truth. But still, i Will try to win and i will play my 100%,always.
But also i have a throught. On league of legends its a game mode sometimes called urf. In overwatch you have it too. Its almost without cd's mode, like fun one. Should be at least. Right now on urf in lol people made it So unfun. Like… Too much competitive?
Well now I have Too Many Cooks stuck in my head
Never seen anything so ridiculous as that player. They threw the whole game and ruined it for everyone else just because someone wasn't playing how they think they should. Sad sad person
I don't understand how people are competitive in this game, when theirs no way to monitor the MMR?
It's actually human nature to be cooperative, rather than competitive, but being competitive is a human trait. People can just play for fun and do just play for fun. I play for fun. I don't play DBD because for me it stopped being fun a long time ago. The problems only occur when casuals play alongside competitive players. When this happens hardcore always go 'Reeee' and casuals don't care. It how Devs respond that killed game for me.
I think that Laurie has played so many bad games in a row before this one, so she decided to give up
I like how someone tells you they play cod for fun and not to win and the first thing you say is "lie" nice job diminishing them. Some times we play things to just have fun and not to be competitive.
10:41 – That's why you always, ALWAYS do the most central gens first! Cuz you never know what mates you got matched with!!!
Proven to be the right thing to do time and time again.
Humans get competitive about not appearing competitive
Competitive counter:
Very, very stupid people tune into your streams lol.
I feel like True is the type of person who thinks the point of sex is just blowing your load.
Games and activities are so much more than a binary "win" or "lose". How do you win at no man's sky, at Minecraft, at DND, at GTA, etc.
Even "competitive" games like COD, DotA 2, league etc, there's no incentive to win past a short term dopamine hit before you jump into the next game. There's no money in playing Cod at a normal human level, taking the losses with the wins is part of the experience.
DBD is the worst example you could use, there is negative incentive to win as Killer, and none for survivor. You don't get anything besides a dumb little PNG, and the tiny dopamine hit from a game you "won" in a videogame that has no defined victory condition, which is why meta spamming losers who want nothing more to "win" instead of having fun cringes people out.
Just like you can't "win" life. It's not the destination that matters. It's the journey.
Tru we live in a generation that needs a trophy for everything. (Easy rewards)… when people lose/suck they make the “try hard” excuse for the winner and say get good when they over power the opponent or win.
As you said we’re competitive by nature and people lie to themselves.
i dislike the competitive side of human nature it just brings out too much toxicity.
dude almost every other game i get a teammate who kills themselves on first hook. that’s just the solo q experience
I’m surprised Tru3 doesn’t focus on which gens he’s getting done, he did all the gens on one side and was surprised at the 3 gen
why being competitive? its just too funny to troll ppl and see how mad they get xD
I think it always depends on the person and the games. For instance I had 2 friends I played Apex with, me and another were fairly competitive, our 3rd friend really wasn't. Didn't care win or lose. Inn WoW if we had a bad raid night where I was uncaring that it was going bad, she was pissed lol.
Your take on being competitive is borderline psycho lol
I tend to care more about playing well than actually winning. Often the two do go hand in hand but not always, I usually get frustrated more if I know I could have played better
I know tru3 is trying to be careful with what he claims like he usually does, because it's practically impossible to prove or disprove these things, but 15:35 she's nodding at him/the camera when he says that, so that's very sus…
I don´t care about winning as long the enemys are not toxic.
What i hate to lose because of other people play really bad.
That why i am killer main because of people like lori that kills herself.
The only time i hate to lose against T-Bagger of flashy klickers.
But that rarely happen that i lose.
